I thought in case of fouls VAR ref just tell the incident as it happened and then field ref takes the decision either by trusting the VAR or checking by himself.

Seen it a lot when it doesn’t. If all the added time has already been played, usually they won’t allow the corner. It happened in a United game recently, I recall. I’m sure there’s an official rule on this, if time’s up and the ball goes out of play, there’s no obligation to allow the corner.
