No offside, no touch on the ball, no interference as Bruno didn’t even look at Rashford.
Exactly. I'm going through negatives and hitting ignore at a rate of knots. What a performance! Amazing play, lovely touches, grown up stuff. Casemiro. Shaw. Every one a class act. Adds spice that the most despised team were at the end of their second loss in a row.

Not a brilliant performance, especially that start of the second half. But, the character and desire can’t be underestimated.

The job Ten Hag has and is doing is extraordinary and long may it continue.

Think we caught them on an off day, but we really looked a different side in terms of mentality than we played them last time. Full of self-belief and confidence. Even guys like Wan-Bissaka were absolutely full of condifence. Fred's best game in a United shirt he ran the show, brilliant tackling alongside Casemiro (whose passing was unusually a little off to day even if he still read the game brilliantly). Chuffed to bits. Wasn't Rashfords day really but he kept going.

What a performance from the whole team. Garnacho shades of Macheda impct
Yeah but Garnacho a far superior player. I think United has future world best in him. What a gem.

Wasn't a spawny win, and well deserved.

There was parts of the game where we still looked a bit intimdated by City's reputation and some of the final balls was just a little rushed. Imagine what this team will be like in 12 months time. Loved the result and great to see them not fold after going a goal behind.

It feels weird to be looking up the table to the top team, and not behind us to who could pip us to top 4.

The biggest change I can see is the togetherness. And I think that comes from ETH trusting Malacia, AWB, Fred etc in games like this.

He trusts his squad, everyone feels like they can play a part, and he's reaping the dividends. I love Martinez, but I think it sends such a huge message that Shaw starts ahead of him because he's playing well. You get what you work for in this team. A small change on paper, huge on the pitch.

Missed big parts of this, but listening to Eirik Bakke saying City dominated second half. What do the forum say?

They had one shot on target all game which they scored from. They were kept relatively quiet. Malacia and Shaw in particular were brilliant. But all of the defence was really good today bar that slip were AWB lost Grealish.

This result has the feeling of a turning point.

We matched them for most of the match and got the right result. It's a long time since that happened.

City with all their pointless possession
This! is not dominating to match if all you do is pass it round in front of the opposition. B.Silva was practically playing CB...what's the point!?

They have had 1 shot on goal in 2 matches? its boring boring Pep football

Always like wiping Pep's smirk from his face. His record against us isn't great. This felt like a genuine statement, though, that we can be as good as them. Big credit to Garnacho, for his age he has great determination and stick-with-it-ness. I had raised eyebrows when I saw the lineup, but as always I defer to the boss.

Why are some calling this lucky?

City had one shot on target...

ONE!
Because some think you deserve to win if you pass the ball around for 90 minutes.
We should explain to them that it’s not football.

For a while in the second half it seemed as if the not resting players enough in pointless cup games was coming back to haunt Utd a bit, but Garnacho helped lift energy levels again - what a sensational talent he is.

City's weakness was clearly in their back 4 and when Utd went back on the front again foot they couldn't cope.

Hopefully Rashford's injury was just an impact one with bruising, rather than a muscle strain.

Just an amazing feeling beating the bitters. At 1-0 I was losing hope and couldn't see how we were going to get back in the game.

But credit to the players, the manager for the subs...and the fans for their support

Watching City players crying at the end was just the cherry on top!

I’m Fred’s biggest critic and I have to
Say he earned his place in the team today. Last 3 to 4 games since including his cameo against wolves he’s been amazing.
The whole team, worked their socks off. Martial hasn’t raised his game so that position is open for the new guy.

Ffffaarrking yeeeeeeeeessss!!!!!!!!!

If Rashford had touched the ball it would have been offside, but if he hadn't been there the ball would still have reached Bruno, so not offside (maybe)

Skgjenlrjrjrjfyty yeuekeujsjfjek!!!
That’s my understanding too. Although I wonder if Rashford deliberately left it (for Bruno) knowing he was offside? If so, that is some world class decision making on the fly.
