He’s the man for the job, still back him. But the decisions sub wise and just allowing the tide to so obviously turn and doing nothing about it isn’t fun to watch two games in a row.

Got it wrong today. How do Erikson and Mctominay stay on for 90 min. McTominay was invisible in the midfield. Should have brought on Garancho.

ETH fecked that and was all too cowardly being afraid to bring Garnacho on for the counter.

Overall still doing a great job but he did feck up there today.

It is what it is.

Not exactly. Mct missed a simple pass in attack then missed a diving tackle and left defence wide open. Fred was just trying to save what he could
It wasn't Mct who was responsible for their goals though. AWB was involved either directly ot tangentially in at least two of them.

This is a shocking post. We have made undeniable progress under him so far.
The table says he is doing no better than Ole. We are 11 points off the top in 4th. When Ole finished 2nd we were told it was because the other teams were underperforming. Well the same could be said of ETH.

He has improved us, but you can’t deny that he has his flaws and in game management is very poor really. Also questions regarding the signing of Antony, looking like 100m down the drain.

People are crazy. No other manager would be able to get that good result against current Arsenal with a midfield of McTominay-Eriksen-Bruno.
Newcastle have Eddie Howe and an arguably worst midfield. Please don't make stupid excuses for why we put in that pathetic second half performance. This is largely down to Ten Hag.

Being angry after a match like that smacks of "I didn't watch/understand the match but I think this is what I should say whenever we lose"

So close to getting a point from league leaders without a key player.

The performative nonsense can shush. Disappointed? Sure.

We need fecking quality in midfield If we're going to get anywhere.
Cas out and we're back to McFred and results like these.

Lost this one. No changes, even the team was flat as hell. No plan to bring back stability in our midfield. He made the same mistake against Crystal Palace.
What changes are there to make? The bench options were bobbins. He brought Fred on to bring stability, apart from that he had a load of kids and players who aren't good. If we want to compete for 3 trophies as well as going for top 4 then we need to expect a lot more games where we look shattered and lack options to bring on, that's where our squad is right now.

Poor from him today. Chose a cowards way and had to pay for it in the end.

We badly needed subs. We just needed legs to see out the game,as the players on the pitch had no control, and we're under the cosh so much. Garnacho should have come on earlier for sure

He is at a massive disadvantage today against a complete Arteta project. He still has to start AWB and McTominey in a game of this size. No options and a very weak bench.

The only criticism I will make at this stage is that he is too slow to make changes and too conservative and that needs to change.

Also, Antony looks shite.

Arsenal are a fantastic team and they deserved the win on the day, they also had a cosy week of rest and that extra rest showed. The fact we're not that far away from them on the pitch shows how far we've come. Not burying Palace meant we lost Casemiro, who's probably our best player, which is probably why we ended up losing. It was shit of the FA to play that fixture midweek.

Don't think we had anything on the bench. Midfield was non existent, and we have no cover there

Not going anywhere under him. We might scrape top4 but only because Liverpool and Chelsea are in meltdown. Same old cycle.

Doing no better than Ole after spending 200m.
This has to be a joke surely?! If not, one of the worst posts made on the caf since its inception.

It feels like a lot of fans overhyped him to get back at Ole (so they could "win the argument" so to speak) and some just in general hope that he would turn things around.

I'm not getting too excited until I see genuine improvement and the team is on another level to what it was post Sir Alex Ferguson. He's done ok so far.

Can be rightly criticised for not bringing on more energy, although the "cowardly" talk is childish hyperbole.

Still, the difference in energy levels showed clearly for the last 20 mins or so, having to play in midweek is what really killed us.

Sub off Bruno and Rashford late in the game for fecks sake. Too attached to his starting 11 unless we go behind.

Absolutely bottled it today. Garnacho on with 30 seconds left? When you're playing on the counter at that. Why did weghorst play the entire game again when you need speed on attack? Awful, ruined my day.

The fact that he still have to start AWB, McT and a loan player shows our lack of quality options. The best he could have done is to put Garnacho ON instead of Antony. But I guess, we were losing control of the midfield and he needed an option there. Didn't help in the end but if it had helped , we would be praising him now. Small margins.

Give him a solid squad to work with. We will go.places.

If you can't make timely subs you ain't winning squat in terms of big trophies. We threw that game further and further down the pan every minute of the second half Eriksen and Antony were kept on.

Lads we are bloody wrecked for christs sake. If we had played Crystal Palace when the game should have been played we would have won it, and would have had a weeks rest for this game.

Players need a rest for either the Carabao or the FA cup tie.

Mctominah and Wan Bissaka are just so poor technically as well. Wout although not bad isnt the solution to our striker problem.

Yes he got it wrong but today showed how poor the squad is. Needs a massive revamp in the summer, just want good owners to back him.

Yeah, we didn't really have any good options. Arsenal were all over us and he could just as easily have cost us the game with subs as won it. Well, far easier really.

Some posters here are underestimating the quality of this Arsenal team at the moment and overrating our team outside of the first XI.

The state of these posts from some of our so called "fans", embarrassing.

Erik's doing a good job.

What’s cowardly? We were getting fecking rinsed. I have no idea what he’s supposed to do with our bench.
Garnacho's been our most promising looking forward player besides Rashford for the past month. Could have brought him on and taken off Weghorst who looks to be running in mud the entire match. We could have at least tried to make something of it instead of letting them hammer at it for half an hour. We give them that much time - this Arsenal squad are going to punish us. Which they did.

If you’re not seeing a genuine improvement, you either need to get yourself to specsavers, or have no idea what football is.
