Did it to Smalling in that other match … who’s the unlucky fella this time? Spinazzola?
Ibanez and Spinazzola. His movement is just brilliant, just peels off Ibanez as Kvara is about to cross. Of course the cross is pinpoint as well

I don't see us affording him or paying the required money, unless of course the new ownership is in place. Napoli will take whoever gets him to the cleaners.

No one is paying that money for him, he'll stay at Napoli unless he goes on strike, and then they'll probably send the mafia after him.
If he helps lead him to their first title in generations as it looks like, I don't think they'll be as hellbent on denying him a big move as they have in the past.

He'll also have a year left on his contract if they don't sell this summer. That would increase the chance of losing him for free/peanuts next year compared to cashing in for big money this year.

Osimhen has been big money for ages though. Napoli paid 70m for him 3 years ago after just 1 year with Lille, where he scored 18 goals. He had a super rapid rise from a nobody to a 70m player pretty much.
That's true about the fee that Napoli paid for him. Still, I feel that we could be doing so much more by looking for these talented players before they become expensive, like Lille did. It's an area that's bugged me for some time anyway.

Someone is going to pay £100m for him.
Absolutely think you guys would be first in line to offer whatever they want.

I hope he'll also have a competing offer from United because I think he's exactly what you guys are missing and need.

He won't!
Di Laurentis is a pain in the ass to negotiate with and they bought him for 75mil. No way he is going for less than 120mil.
Rules us out then. No chance we spend over 100m on a striker.

Wouldn't be so sure. In a world where teams are willing to buy players like Nunez, Antony and Mudryk for fees of up to £85m, £82m and £89m respectively, a £105m+ fee for Osimhen seems quite reachable.

I don’t know if we’re doing that but the way we’re spending, I wouldn’t rule it out. I undersold his value anyway. Napoli will demand no less than 140m for him as their starting point.

Generally teams do that from a position of strength.. well you could always do that, but it's tough to integrate them and grow them properly if not in a position of strength. If your team is constantly in turmoil/changing things, you don't have the opportunity to build properly and take risks like those because there are always more pressing needs. Hopefully different now. A few positions to address but also can start building more. That was presumably the idea in Pellistri and Amad, despite the high price for Amad.

More than that. Di Marzio said earlier in the week that Napoli would look for a minimum €120m (£105m-ish). And given the prices players like Nunez, Antony and Mudryk have gone for within the last year, that rings true.
Yeah can see it being €140m including addons

Off course we can, if the new owner clears the debt we will have a little more room to operate with (40m per year) which can give you two 100m players on 5 years contract.
It’s amazing that people don’t understand how the FFP works still. Plenty of wiggle room IF we get new owners. That also doesn’t include moving fringe players on; Maguire, McT etc

He's a monster, just scored an absolute beauty against Roma.

Showcased terrific touch

The way Napoli signed a £30m striker for £80m and he actually turned into an £80m gunman is just mad. That’s exactly what I wanted Havertz’s development arc to look like.

No, plenty of wiggle room if we get CL. The original story was literally we can sign one big player only without CL but could sign two if we qualify.
How this has melted into we are fecked by FFP is beyond me

I agree totally. I also agree that things might start to change or be different now that we have ETH. The cost of purchasing players is rising to unfathomable levels and prices like we're seeing quoted for Osimhen are going to become more of the norm. It's mad. In this case, for the situation that we're in right now and with the way things are, we really do have to go for him, though.

He seems just the ticket for us. I doubt FFP will be a problem, more the Napoli owner and Chelsea offering the most.

For Osimhen it would be a step up but he's onto a good thing in Italy, winning the league with a passionate crowd, playing in the CL. Hopefully the player is interested in joining in us and ETH if that is our managers top choice. We should have CL football and Chelsea might not.

This is such an obvious new owner statement signing. Please fecking god let us finally have some luck and sign this player.

My only concern is the cost with him (unless we get rich ownership)

Napoli are under investigation for the transfer. Let’s say he might be in the move this summer and I wouldn’t be praising the way he was signed!

So we are firmly on this train then
I'd take him over spending an enormous amount on Kane for 2-3 seasons. But there may be more Julian Alvarez's about, if our scouting is good enough. Maybe we don't have to spend a 100m on a single player. We certainly will need quite a big summer.

Osimhen over Kane any day of the week. Kane is past his best, Osimhen will enter it soon. He is a beast and undefendable if you give him any sort of service.

To be fair, if he wins Serie A, he’s pretty much will have more winning trophy experienced than Kane.

I haven’t watch him yet but based on the youtube videos, his ‘’outside the box‘’ game play reminds me of Welbeck. Welbeck has poor finishing ability but this guy has top class finishing ability. Some of the goals he scored are from difficult angle yet he managed to score them the one that I still remember was the goal vs Smalling. I think he can play in PL.

The dynamism is on another planet compared to Kane. Zero interest in Kane for me.

I’ll be honest I’ve wanted Kane more than Osimhen but I’ve spent over an hour watching a lot of Osimhen this evening and my opinion has changed, I did think he has a touch of Lukaku about him which is why I was against signing him but Osimhen reminds me of a cross between Eto’o and Drogba.

He seems to have pace, power, decent touch, aerial ability, decent link up play and most of all knows how to find the back of the net in a variety of ways. At 24 years old we’d get a good 4-5 years and still have sell on value to maybe similar to what we pay, he’s also a United fan too isn’t he ?
