Massive blow for us. That's so much creativity lost for the majority of the rest of the season. And in a window where we don't have the means to replace him. I'm gutted to be honest and not feeling great about our prospects for the rest of the year as this highlights our lack of squad depth

Now some people will realise how important he is to this team.

Season is basically over if Casemiro gets injured.

My point is, it didn’t just happen in any game, it was an unneeded risk to take playing him in arguably our easiest fixture for the foreseeable future, given how many other first teamers were also starting. Some of you lot would have had a fit at the amount of rotation SAF did then.
The difference is Fergie had players to rotate with. We have Fred (who I rate but isn’t anything like Eriksen) and McTominay who is abysmal in 90% of the games he plays in.
I imagine he would’ve been brought off around the hour mark, and he was injured just before. It’s just pure bad luck and an overly aggressive tosser playing for the other team.

Can't plan if you have little to no money.

The club is being sold in a matter of months. Why can't anyone get their head around the fact that the owners won't spend anything as they're selling up shop pretty soon. Nothing to do with Murtough and 'his chums' - the owners won't give them any money to fecking spend.
I get what you're saying - but we literally should have some money in the budget saved from Ronaldo's wages anyway.

Also if you a buy a player, they literally become an asset you can use to increase your sale price. Also the club is a more attractive propsition with Champions League football... these should be easy arguments to make to the Glazers.

Also, as big of a blow as this is, if our team entirely falls apart due to the injury of one player then we weren't actually that good to begin with.

Of course you can. Ever heard of swaps and loans even with your little money? Which part of them working on the Board didn't you understand?

That is absolutely not the problem. Could have happened in any game. There was nothing wrong with the decision to give him an hour considering he wouldn’t have been playing until the next weekend. Drop that thought.
Can happen in any game but no need to risk it in an easy cup game. I posted before the Forest game we're running him into to ground so not just hindsight either.

Please be a serious fecking club and get someone in. I am so sick of this ownership and leadership. I know it’s going to change before the end of the season but that doesn’t mean they get a free pass.
Even before the Eriksen injury we were in need of another body in midfield. It's just another example of negligence, all the more frustrating when other top teams are spending without restriction this window.

He’s not been run into the ground though has he? He’s been the victim of a horror tackle and suffered an impact injury

Damn, that hurts our hopes this season so much.
Fred can play some good games, but even if he steps up we now have zero cover in midfield. Fred will need to play every important minute alongside Casemiro and the matches comes flying.

Loans cost a substantial amount of money these days. Money we don't have. If it's free it's for me rings a bell. We already spent £3M on the Weghorst deal. We don't have anything to spend.

Why? ETH all but ruled out any signings and said we have good players in the midfield
That was before Eriksen got injured though surely? We’ll have a few players scouted and ready to move quickly on, or bring forward a move, in this and every position.

Casemiro + Fred is arguably our best midfield combo, but this leaves us with McTominay as the next step, which is the most worrying part.

It was really stupid playing 1st teamers in the FA cup with Fred and McTominay on the bench. Honestly...I said it when I saw the lineup and especially Eriksen who's been needing a rest.

Chasing every trophy with a small squad is very ill advised. The press will hail you for it but when you miss out on top 4 nobody will remember why...gotta be more street smart than this...honestly.

This started at Palace, the elbow to Martinez went unpunished. Even the scissor tackle by the ex liverpool thug didn't even warrant get a yellow card. What was var even thinking " Its Man utd who cares?" We can thank our lucky stars that Casemiro isn't lying beside Eriksen on the table. I am raging ,especially what Eriksen's been through. The Glaziers & Arnold now need in these final hours to get off the beach towels and back to giving Ten Hag what he needs, if its at all possible. Do all businesses up for sale have signs up "Gone for Lunch back sometime ". Dropping out of top 4 will affect the overall bottom dollar on sale price, surely.

Sounds like he got the memo that we can't/won't dip into the market again...

We need to get someone in. Fred is good for the big games but against the smaller teams we will be found lacking without a decent Eriksen replacement.

Either that or one of the youth players has to step up.

Surely the price that the club is being sold for will diminish (albeit slightly) if it looks likely that we won't make the CL. Spending a few quid here may help the Glazers to make more money on sale.

No he said that at his presser today when asked about Eriksen's injury and would that force him to get any reinforcements

Shocker this. Can’t blame Ten Hag for this though, Andy Carroll is an absolute thug and should be investigated.

Gutted, he’s been brilliant this season. Think we will probably change tactics now due to personnel, can’t see us signing anyone.

That's that then.

Explains why we waited until deadline day to put out the news, so we can say there just isn't enough time.

He's probably pissed on the inside.

We aren't. He's going to be forced into playing youth players. Mainoo has already been getting some minutes. Might have to use Iqbal as well.

Too late to do anything now but, if this happened in December, I think we would have been tempted to sell Maguire and go for a midfielder.
