See all the powerful feckers in our club running around in panic, bumping into walls, tearing their hair out, cursing the gods and yelling, "Why?? Why can't we plan ahead!?"
Plan ahead for an injury that happpened just last week?

This isn't the first time we go into panic mode after an injury. It happened in August too.

If our squad wasn't bare bones we wouldn't have to feckin loan another player.
You’re being a baby. We’re reacting to a shit situation and doing it well. Much rather this than do nothing.

I actually wanted him before he went to Bayern. He's class, this guy

Must be an absolute dream to be as dense and oblivious as Paul Merson is and actually get paid money for it.

In fairness it is a panic buy (loan) but so are many other transfers in this window

Paul Merson really is master of the obvious. Of course it’s a panic buy - why wouldn’t it be when you just found out today your midfielder is injured for 4 months?

Getting Sabitzer in would be a master stroke. I was a big fan of him at Leipzig. He’s more industrious than flair but we’ve seen Casemiro can be that creative spark.

This Sabitzer link really looks like a good one. The potential is there to do very well, and we really need more quality legs to help the team, especially now that eriksen is injured.

Same here. Runs a lot, knows the pressing game well and can score great goals. Able to play multiple positions too.

It would be a very smart choice short or long term.

We should have spent more in the summer. £200m was a pittance. Burn the club down for being so pathetic.

What's your thoughts on him
He is more the typical RB Leipzig player - a lot vertical etc. - for another team probably a great player as he has a very good workrate - at Bayern without a defensive 6 it is somewhat more difficult especially as a next man to multi purpose man Kimmich.

If your roof starts leaking, you fix it. Panic or not. Hell, you might even get a sturdier roof.

100% would be. Eriksen wouldn't play for Bayern either. Sabitzer is clearly better than Eriksen in most areas, but of course not as capable playmaker as Eriksen is (who many are?).
Should allow Bruno to play further up again. We've sacrificed some of Brunos output to make up for Eriksens lack of legs. Sabitzer can easily hold his own in midfield.

-We just lost a starting midefielder on the weekend
-The injury was probably diagnosed 48 hours before the end of the transfer window
-We have no money to spend

If we can get this one over the line, I’d say it would be to Arnold and Murtough’s credit. You have to be reactionary when one of your starters becomes unavailable for basically the rest of the season.

In terms of the player himself, I’d describe him as a bit of a Fred/McTominay hybrid. High energy presser, but more physical than Fred and positionally better than McTominay. Great long shooter and finisher, decent at progressing the ball either with a pass or dribble. Given the constraints above, I don’t think there’s a better player available to us.

And yet, 'He's a big fan of Jorginho' who's been shite for ages. He could at least try and not be a fanboy on TV!

While we shit on our backroom, I’m sure they have a live shortlist of players who are available at a moments notice, and Sabitzer’s name was top of the shortlist for ‘if Eriksen is out long-term’.

And now we’re exercising that system. Would that make it a panic buy? Maybe more like a contingency plan.

It's also very harsh to call Sabitzer 'average'. Sure we'd all want someone on the same level as Casemiro, but this isn't some nobody we're bringing in.
Agreed, he is very capable. Like I said above -- out of a group of Sabitzer, Betancour, Hojbjerg and Bissouma -- if ETH could have one, who would he pick? Honestly, I think I would put my money on Sabitzer. To be able to add a player like this just before the deadline, when we are in desperate need for a player in that position, is nothing short of really really good news.
