Seven point gap to Spurs now. More than a two-game cushion is very welcome.

15 points clear of Chelsea and 17 clear of Liverpool, too (albeit with games in hand for them).

Starting to look pretty good.

Bentancur out for the season too.

Liverpool are still the biggest threat.

17 points on the table but 3 games in hand and we go to Anfield. That's a 5 point gap in my mind.

We have to get it from this position, 7 points clear of 5th. Would be criminal if we blown it from here.

Not even sure Klopp thinks they’re a threat with the form they’re in

A 5 point gap to them in worst case scenario but we're not the 4th place side are we

Liverpool are terrible though and their best midfielder is out for a month. They're nowhere near the team they once were.

Liverpool aren’t any kind of threat. They’ve given up. Until Real Madrid beat them anyway. I think we’re supposed to be cheering them on against Newcastle next week…

Liverpool haven't looked great, but they showed last season that they can still put impressive runs of results together. It might not look like it now, but they are capable of a six or seven game winning run, which would certainly put them back in contention. That gap to Spurs feels significant, though. We can't relax, but having failed to capitalise on poor results for our rivals last weekend, it's great that we didn't let the opportunity go missing today.

Bentancur out for the season is huge for us and how easy it would be to retain our top 4 slot.

If we can just win that bloody cup final and get past Farca, we might be on for a huge season

Even if Liverpool do go on a run that means they are beating the likes of Newcastle and Spurs. Which would only increase our already excellent chances of top 4.

That's not it works. You are assuming they will win all 3 games in hand which they may or may not but that logic should be applied for us too.

Liverpool still have to play City and Arsenal. Take 6 points off that.

I'm nervous when I actually look at the fixture list and just see the amount of games we've got in a short space of time. 14 games minimum until the end of April. April itself looks a little bit brutal with the amount of league games. We've done well to get into this position and it's all down to the squad and if they can keep going. The elephant in the room is that one injury to Rashford and suddenly our goal threat disappears. The number 1 priority is keeping everyone fit and in form.

I think we'll do it. But it's not going to be smooth.

Liverpool just had Thiago out for a few weeks. Maybe you can’t count them out but Liverpool have to be looking down the table as much as above them.

I’ve always said it. Finish above Liverpool and we are in top 4. Newcastle and Spurs won’t be a threat.

Crucial transfer window this summer. Having Liverpool and Chelsea out of the top four is a huge plus if we are in it. De Jong, Rice, Bellingham start to look achievable, especially with new owners.

Another thing to note is that we have played both Arsenal and City twice…

Pool, Chelsea and NC all have to play them still…. spurs still have to play Arsenal once .

They all will most likely lose points to both or either one of them…..

I want Arsenal and City to draw few games so we Atleast can reach as close to them as possible

Only on the caf you'll have bedwetters worrying to death about a team in 10th, 17 points behind you, finishing ahead of you.

This place is like a 24/7 funeral. Miserable and despondent sods.

They've only won 8 out of 20 games so far. What makes you think they'll suddenly starting winning all their games now?

Spurs now in trouble with the injuries..
Liverpool will get knocked out of the CL and will have just the league to focus on..
If they win their games in hand, they'll be 8 points behind us.. and we have to go there.. IF we lose that.. still 5 point buffer..

lot of ifs.. we are looking fairly comfortable.. but would love us to beat Barca and progress.. and in that case, our fixtures would be pretty congested.. we really need that buffer..

United's schedule is utter filth for the next 3 weeks.

Supporters need to get ready and almost 100% expect points to be dropped, lets not slag of every single member of the team when they are being asked to play so often...

Barcelona (Thu)
- 2 days rest -
Leicester (Sun)
- 3 days rest -

If we can navigate the next five without top 4 rivals gaining too much on us, we should be looking good:

Leicester, Liverpool (a), Southampton, Brighton (a), Newcastle (a).

That's dangerous set of fixtures..
Yep! We've got cup games vs Barca (x2), Newcastle, and West Ham in amongst them, but those are our next five Premier League games. Needless to say, Leicester and Saints are must-wins for us. If we can avoid defeat away at Liverpool, Brighton and Newcastle, then we should maintain a bit of breathing room, going into April.

.
  1. Barca -- strongest team
  2. Dropping points to Leicester will sting , but this is the one where we should rotate heavily.
  3. Barca again.. Strongest team
  4. Newcastle - Cup final - strongest team
  5. West Ham - rest.. i guess
  6. Liverpool -- have to play the strongest team

It'll be crazy. Leicester and West ham, the next 2 league games, are the ones we are most likely to go in the weakest. and then we have Liverpool away.
