He's clearly a very emotional watcher, you can see that from the Salford documentaries and it's obviously the case for our games too. That's fine, probably the majority of the fanbase are similar. But if you're commentating on our games you have to be able to rein it in at times.

Bruno is getting absolutely destroyed by the media and a large part of that is down to Gary saying he was asking to be subbed which was soon to be shown as utter nonsense. But comments like that stick, will get brought up all the time and have now led to a massive discussion everywhere about the captaincy which is completely unnecessary and another unwanted distraction for the team and manager.

If he can't become more rational in his commentary then he needs to stop doing our games.

Has he not apologised yet?

I don't like Bruno at all but that was bang out of order from Neville. It's was a character hit on Bruno and the misinformation has spread like wildfire. As the single source of spreading this lie, Neville should have apologised immediately it came out that he didn't ask to be subbed.

When it came to speaking about the super league he had no problem getting in front of a camera on his off day and being in the limelight. There's no excuse for not apologising yet.

Neville is so damaging to the image of Manchester United; win, draw or lose. feck him, honestly.

Also, my wife and I met him last year at an event - prick there too.

Also don’t get how Souness refused to admit we were better first half, that must have been to just wind Gary up. Even my most biased scouse-loving mates accepted that.
I actually think that's why Carragher was laughing in Gary's direction - even Carragher thought United were better first half and it was almost a laugh of disbelief rather than Carragher joining in on the goading. Souness is beyond deluded, it gets me wound up listening to him sometimes, he's so out of touch.

Even when Bruno went down (yes I know he dives and moans a lot) but Neville calling it a disgrace him holding his face when he was pushed in the chest. You can see on the replay he did catch his chin/mouth.
I thought the exact same when they showed the replay - it was clear as day that he did get a little whack on the chin (albeit a massive overreaction from Bruno).

Should at least put a tweet out apologising for the hysterical garbage he was spewing about Bruno.

Not only was he inaccurate at the time, he has now created a far wider issue which does nothing but add fuel to the fire.

Nice one Nev you fecking idiot!

He’s so proud and stubborn he won’t have the humility to apologise or admit he was wrong. He’ll find some angle to try and justify he was correct.

At least carragher (who is a world class spanner) admitted he was wrong about Martinez.

I hope ETH and our players refuse to speak to Neville or give him any interviews after all this.

Manchester United legend btw

Maybe it's just me but I think his playing time at United is massively overrated. I have never felt safe enough with him and always think we should upgrade his position, even during the Treble era. Compare to other players of the team who are among the top of the world in their position, he's quite lackluster. Basically, for me he needs United much more than United needs him.

The less talk about his opportunist personality the better.
He makes some dodgy comments as a pundit theres no doubt about that but he was a top quality right back and there is absolutely no overrating there. There is no way Fergie would have selected him over 600 times if he wasn`t a real quality right back. A huge part of Fergies United and a real Legend at the club.

Has he come out and apologised yet? It’s genuinely shameful.

I don’t care that he’s an ex player, someone at the club has to draw a line, you can’t make crap up to cause drama and get someone harassed on social media whilst also claiming to be an advocate for mental health. Ban him from OT for a year, let Sky use another commentator for our games at home. Criticism of players is fine but fabricating rumours for your own benefit is lowest of the low. Supposedly our biggest fan but he sure seems to loathe most of our players.

Neville is the same when he watches Salford. I don't think much of it, he's just that type

Do prefer when he's not commentating our games though, he tries too hard to not be seen as bias that he goes too far in favour of the other team. Like saying "it wasn't a foul" when one of our players has just been taken flat out

He was the Henderson of Liverpool. Not much natural talent, but did what was asked of him and filled a certain role.
He was clearly the least talented of the class of 92 (well apart from his brother).
Fergie himself admitted that Neville achieved more than he originally thought.

Always got the feeling that certain members of the class of 92 have been bitter since the time they wanted their mate Giggsy to get the managers job. No other pundits in the media continually slag off their former team like this lot do. They changed their tune when their mate Ole was manager but put all the blame on the players but any chance they get they put the boot in. Nevillle's took it to another level though. Don't know whether it's just because he's so up himself or that his constant support of Maguire fuels his hate of Bruno being captain. Bruno doesn't deserve this and the new ownership would be wise to keep their distance from over entitled ex players like him.

Yeah exactly, one rule for us, another for the opposition. Fecking infuriating to listen to but ABU's watching probably like to hear it from him.

Blanket ban on Sky until they publicly apologize. The cretins are continuing with their fake news narrative.

I think that should be a norm. There should be a neutral commentator commenting on games. Thinking out loud, they are supposed to comment on the game as it is being played not push in personal opinions into the game narrative.

He owed a great part of his career to having Beckham in front of him. Also we had a great squad where Fergie managed to get the lesser members to perform above their level within that team. Always think back to the Jaap Stam comments when I think of him.

I've started to feel like this too. I mean we've had some right pricks play for this club, but I find Neville more annoying than any of them. He probably winds me up more than pundits that never played for us and delight in sticking the boot in.

Gary Neville lives rent free in some heads here.
He lied about Bruno and has set off a wave of abuse about that lie towards a current player of our club. The fact he has history bashing Bruno makes it even worse.

There is no shame in being behind Beckham, Scholes and Giggs talentwise. He had to work his socks off for what he achieved which makes it even more admirable but what a player he turned out to be .
He can be a terrible pundit at times but there is no question he was a great right back for United and a true playing Legend, first choice for his country with over 85 caps too.

Unfortunately, football punditry has long since been more about entertainment than education. Pundits aren't picked on their ability to tell us things we don't know, they're picked on their ability to deliver clippable moments and controversial takes which drive engagement on social media.

Maybe, just maybe, Bruno should stop giving people room to make baseless accusations at him and start acting like a captain instead?
Eh? So because he didn't act like a captain it's alright and fine with just making stuff up that he did on Sunday, so that's then peddled at him non-stop for the next 48 hours? I don't think that's fair.

He could be doing a lot better sure, but nowt is fair about stuff being blatantly made up at him.

Agree. Social media and instant gratification is ruining a lot of things

Was also behind Nicky Butt talent wise. Butt just had the “misfortune” to have Keane and Scholes ahead of him. But yeah, I agree with the rest of your post.

It's not the first time people have made stuff up about our players, I'm not sure why people are that bothered about it now, probably because it's Neville and people are obsessed with everything he says for some reason, like he has more weight than Souness or Carragher when they say stupid shit, he doesn't.

Bruno was the captain on Sunday, the captain is the manager on the pitch and if that's a reflection of our manager than he should be fired. Bruno and the rest of them were disgraceful but you expect more from your captain.

Bang out of order for making those comments about Fernandes, and is an even bigger wanker for remaining silent and not apologising. What’s worse is Sky is continuing to pedal this nonsense despite the fact it’s been proven to be blatant lies.

Because he's a club legend and in an influential position and comments he makes can have a real world affect on our performances. What point are you trying to make? Do you think because he played for United he has free reign to spew whatever garbage he wants?

Who's he influencing? No one gives a shit what pundits say, they're rent-a-gob, they're supposed to generate talking points.
