No whining at all from Bruno all game. It's like he knew his behaviour on Sunday was disgraceful for a captain. totally cut out the whining and stupid flicks, super focused and played really well.
I will be happy if we see the same determined Bruno in a game we are losing.

Pellestri was the highlight of the game for me, want to see a lot more of him. Fast and direct, looked dangerous against an albeit poor and tired Betis.

Excellent second half. Should've scored more but still. AWB brought stability and everyone went up a couple of levels as Betis faded away. Happy for Bruno and Big Wout. Lovely cameo from Pellistri.

Another lovely Wout moment. Him celebrating his goal was so nice to see, really meant a lot to him to score in front of the Stretford End. He's such a pest to the defense and wins balls in dangerous areas. I think there's a place for him in the squad as a role/rotation player. Seeing him celebrate that goal, and him celebrating the League Cup...you can feel he loves it at United. Something missing from a lot of players over the past decade or so.

Despite going in 1-1, we were the better teams and should have definitely gone in ahead. We didn't recover well in the first half when Betis equalised and having created so many chances in the first half, we could have found ourselves going in behind.

Second half was similar to the first half, in that we created chances, but where we were better was 1) we took our chances (even though we could have scored even more) 2) we shut out their counters.

Think bringing on Wan Bissaka was a great sub. Felt he was amazing!

Bruno was my MOTM though. When he plays like he did today, there's not many I'd swap him for.

4-1 is a healthy scoreline. You'd think that puts the tie to bed, but stranger things have happened.

Hoping we can go away and put in a professional performance.

Good performance, great result. Should've been more. Would've been more if Rashford stayed on. This should allow us to rest players for the second leg if required.

As for the players' reaction after Sunday, they largely delivered. I'm afraid Dalot played himself out of the starting XI and DDG only kept his place due to no better alternative. But on the positive side, Bruno completely dominated the second half, Rashford went back to scoring and Antony could've had a hattrick.

But the highlight was Weghorst scoring at the Stretford End. He doesn't have the ability of a United player but he has the heart of one. Really happy for him. Pellistri was also fantastic when he came on, as he has been every time. Hope EtH sees him as a genuine alternative to Antony on the RW.

Thank god that was such a good response. Other than after Betis scored we looked confident throughout. As if that second half at Anfield never happened.

Don't think many teams would've been battered like Betis second half...Err but we should've scored 7!

Great win, sets us up for second leg. Roll on to next round...and probably Sevilla again!

First half was way too chaotic, mostly down to causing our own problems (DDG being the worst culprit) but a fantastic change in the second half. Good too see some of the heavily criticised lads redeem themselves a little.

Oh, and it should have been 7 if Antony could finish...

Rashford always looks so depressed. Cheer up lad.

You're having your best season ever.

I was so afraid of this game I can not even express. To get such a good result I am delighted. I actually took some time off for this game and I'm glad I did. The only negative of AWB being so poor will not take away my happiness.

Great result, 4 1 flatters Betis really but I would take a 3 goal head start going into an away leg any day. Didn’t always play well but Antony was class tonight, his worldie changed the game. Want to see more of Pelisitri and De Geas distribution hit a new low, something needs to be done there.

Great result. Should've been more, but this is enough to get through and rest some players.
We need to be more clinical and not to waste so many chances. Instead of leading 2 or 3-0 we conceded a goal and looked pretty shaky until the end of the half.

Good performance, frustrating not to score a few more.

I was a decent 1st half, until the closing stages when we made it a little awkward for ourselves and I was glad half time came. 2nd half was great and we should have scored more.

He'll score a massively important goal for us in a big game.

Great way to respond after that horrible performance, really enjoyed this game. So many chances. Happy for Wout as well.

Think first half wasn't that bad. The intensity is there, but still very sloppy. Might be the nervousness after Sunday, which is understandable.

Excellent second half glad that game is out of the way let's beat Southampton now the away leg we shouldn't have too many problems negotiating that.

Exactly what was needed.

Credit to the team, showing once again that they can come back from adversity.

I only saw the second half so that was pretty good for me :D A nice, sold, uncomplicated win is exactly what we needed after Liverpool

It's becoming clear that EtH sets his teams up to frustrate the first half, with the plan of burning the opponents with pace in the second half. Betis were dead by the time Pellistri came on, and they had no answer for him. They couldn't even deal with Wout's pace, and that's saying something.

We do really need a striker.
It's costing us potentially blowing teams away. People talk about our final ball, but part of me thinks a lot of that has to do with us not having an active no.9.

When looking at strikers, Fergie was the best at knowing the type of no.9's that worked for both United and the league. There's a reason why, as good as he was, Ole was never Fergie's top no.9 despite how good he was in regard to scoring goals. You need a combination of pace, strength, balance and finishing....It's why Fergie never signed an out and out target man. To have a dynamic team, your forward needs to move. We now have a dynamic team that can create chance after chance if given the opportunity, but we need a forward to match that energy. Wout isn't that and Martial isn't that either ( way too static.I don't think Kane is that either imo. Osimhen or a similar type of striker is your guy.

Casemiro needs a more powerful and defensively secure partner who can take over his duties when he needs a break; with Eriksen dropping into rotation, Fred as a 4th option and Mctominay sold.

The right wing question has to be asked over the summer. Antony needs to step up, Sancho needs to perform and we need to see how both Pellistri and Amad look over the summer. Our team is now moving the ball really well. Yet despite this, the movement still tends to die on the right wing. That needs to change. And despite his goal, Antony needs to prove why he's here.

Great win overall, could’ve scored loads more.

De Gea’s distribution was atrocious. I don’t think he hit one long pass.

Dalot looked all over the place, and Antony scored a great goal but is so frustrating. Should’ve squared that instead of that ridiculous dink attempt.

Bruno, Martinez and pellistri the highlights for me. Also happy for Weghorst, but sometimes it’s like we’re attacking with 10 men.

Bruno looked like a different player tonight, he’s so much better in his natural central position likewise, Weghorst was much more effective as a 9.
