Don't know how much clearer it needs to be. Amazing this wasn't a penalty having VAR.
What’s even more bizarre is the claim by some posters here that the ball hit the arm supporting the player on the ground.

    Stonewall pen.

People blaming the ref are one of the reasons our players are unbelievably stupid, because they know there's no accountability. They will always be absolved of any blame or responsibility for the outcome, so they don't have to display any discipline or common sense.

Why the feck is he going over the top of the ball and planting his studs mid-shin on the opposition?

We have the dumbest players of all time.
    Go watch the tackle again.

Are people being intentionally obtuse or is this what it means to be a biased, hypocritical football fan?

Casemiro's was a red. Doesn't matter how you want to slice it. If you challenge for the ball and there's a follow through (even if you make contact) it is a foul. In Case's case he make contact with the player's shin. That would get checked all day and deemed a foul. Not intentional, yes. Unfortunately, absolutely yes, but red card, yes as well.

I didn't see a replay of Bruno's but that might be debatable and should have been VAR'd at least for perspective.

Also doesn't look like most on here know the handball rule. It effectively states that players are allowed to support their body weight in the event of a fall, and hand hitting the ball as a result of that is not considered a handball. It is that simple. Again no grand conspiracy against us on that call.
The handball not so much, but I think Bruno's was a pen. He got clipped on his back leg.

Hard to say anything about game because of referee (once again) not allowing us anything. If we take a point, it is like a win.

Press conferance after should be intresting. TenHag need to go crazy there.

The red cards from Casemiro could cost us top 4. Next 3 games we have Fulham, Newcastle and Brentford. The Fulham games the fa cup and Brentford shouldn’t be a problem but that Newcastle game will be tough without him. Stupid!
    It’s a 4 match ban

How many times does it have to be explained before some of you knuckle heads will get it. Getting the ball first isn't enough to save you from a potential legbreaker. Absolute stupidity from Casemiro.

I didnt think it was a pen. Casamiro a little unlucky but if u go in studs up you are always risking a red. Thats now a 4 match ban for Casamiro. Ffs

He didn’t go over the top of the ball. He won the ball and his foot went up after winning the ball. He can’t detach his foot once he’s made contact.
Fabinho does them week in week out
McT only got a yellow for similar last week?

This is ridiculous - the PL needs a serious upgrade on referees. If we can get the best global talent in terms of players - why not officials?
They are all great. Stuff just happens too fast sometimes and there is too much pressure on them. If they had the ability to stop and review incidents at will and take as much time as they need these geniuses would clearly get every call right.

Oh wait no that was just the excuse used for years. They are pathetic and the lack of accountability in their job makes me feel sick. We literally slowed down the entire sport for them and they cock up just as much as they always did.

I disagree. This sort of attitude is what weakness football over time and makes the game far worse. Why not instead of accepting these kind of decisions, clubs actually kick off and make a stand? That’s not a red card and challenges like that should be bloody encouraged not shunned. Feel like I say this every week but football has become bloody pathetic and VAR has done what I always said and made it even worse!
I know I'm cynical but I think you're being an utopist. No matter how much stands the clubs make (they never will to begin with), these decisions will always be down to idiots at the end of the day. Do you ever envisage a period where PL make consistent good and common sense based decisions ? I don't and never will.
You tackle with your studs up, you take a risk

A red so soft the blue pill hasnt been invented yet that could get it up. Silly decisions like this ruin games. The yellow was enough, there was no need for VAR do say anything as it wasn’t clear and obvious that it was more than a yellow. Thats the problem with VAR, they pick and choose what’s clear and obvious week to week.
And one minute of added time? Took him 3 minutes just to send off Cas. Ref is a joke. Can’t stick by his decisions and can’t fecking count.

The surely on the same basis, it should have been a penalty for the follow through.

Not the arm that touches the ball.

He clearly slips and uses his arm to block the ball while the other supports him.
He slips, yes. When you do that, you don't use one arm to support yourself going down, and your other arm isn't going to be along your torso.

It was supporting him so much that he was able to try and move it out the way as soon the ball hit it. Plus he got in that awful position. It’s not like he was sliding to block a shot.

The OT crowd has been up for it and is our 11th man. Too bad we are playing against 12 though.

Can't remember the last time we got a draw let alone a win being down to 10 men for this long

Then why do other teams do it and get yellows? Issue isn’t the red, it’s that we’ve seen it like 5 times this season with yellows (Son, the Leicester one, the one ON Case a few weeks ago).

If getting to the ball first does not excuse you from a foul, why was Bruno’s not a penalty?

Bruno's lackadaisical attitude to giving the ball away might cost us

I agree, but consistency is another issue. A red card for going studs up on a opponents leg is not. It's just so unnecessary. Anyone who has played football will know he doesn't have to do that.
