Lots of bad luck, poor decisions by the players and the manager and Sevilla getting a sniff of our anxiety and going for it.

Thought the ref was weird tonight, very quick to issue yellows for very little but also wasn't down for the usual Spanish team tiresome bullshit of rolling around and trying to get players sent off. Not the type of combination you normally see.

Lamela easily could have gone for that studs up on Cas.

I see that people STILL underestimate Sevilla.
They are bad in league but here they are playing for CL next season. Of course that they will play much better than in their league. Plus new manager effect.
Sides like them are the most dangerous to face. Little to play for in their own league and need to win the Europa to have European football the following year.

However lets be honest everything that could go wrong went wrong for United in that 2nd half and started off with Varane not coming out for the 2nd half. ETH said he took Antony,Bruno cane off because they were on yellows and Martial just back from only had an hour in him. The problem was the replacements that came on made the team much weaker and then came that brain fart from Malacia that allowed Sevilla back into the game but at that stage United had only themselves to blame for not leading 3 or 4-0 before that error.

Sevilla are shit and we should have pasted them 5-0 easily. We should win the second leg and go through.

Ridiculous set of circumstances that saw us draw that game. It's worrying that the injuries are mounting and we're not having much luck in this run-in.

They were horrible tonight and have been awful in pretty much all their away games for a while. We were just too inept to finish them off. They will be better at home.

Whatever the result was Seville are an utter disgrace to football.
Have never seen a worse performance of cheating and faking injury. And I’ve seen peak Spanish shithousery over the last 30 years.
They should be ashamed but i suspect this is par for the course in Spanish football.

we’ll still go through but it’s made it difficult for sure.

Agreed , there needs something to be done about those balls that caught Malacia tonight and have caught Shaw out at times in the past. We need a strict no shit approach to dealing with them. It's a weakness that has always been there.

There's an alternative reality where Malacia smacks it out for a corner, our best CB doesn't get injured and we win 2-0.

That's what the next AntMan film should be about

The football gods have cursed us. Someone at the club upset them or didn't make adequate sacrifices to them. That's the only rational explanation for the absolutely insane last eight minutes of the game.

You don't make subs just for the sake of it
If we lost control of the game what was elanga and Wout going to do to change that? Bruno was suspended so he was going to get a rest on Thursday

Antony had missed some games recently so he should have stayed on

And all 3 subs at the same time was stupid
eriksen control

elanga pace and finishing(he has to give the lad chances sometime, besides Sancho was terrible)

WW… I don’t know at this point,

but it’s not like ETH gave his 2 year old son a run out for sh*ts and giggles is it…

I still think we’ll beat Sevilla away. They are a pretty garbage side and simply lucky. Hope we take all our chances and are more compact and clinical.

Our squad is not good enough and injuries are killing our momentum. Elanga, Sancho, Weghorst, are not good enough and Pellistri is not there yet. A never fit Martial, Rashford, Bruno, Antony & Garnacho are never going to be enough over a season. Need more depth in attack, cm and rb. We need to dig deep to cross the line and finish in the top 4. The EL & FA cup would be good to win but I will quite content with the league cup & Top 4 at this stage.

Or where Antony's shot sneaks in instead of hitting the post, we go 3-0 up and Sevilla collapse.

This is how Sevilla has played for years. Every time we have faced them, we have seen them. We have seen worser shithousery from Sevilla in previous years. I remember them crying (actual tears), while rolling on the ground with their hands waving imaginary cards to the ref.

Whisper it, but the managers changes cost us the game. No reason to make those at the time - Bruno was already out of second leg, lindelof should be ahead of Maguire, Malacia should have been brought off at HT - Dalit can play LB. But the feeling is that the majority won’t critiue ETH until he’s on a 4 game losing run in 2 years time.

make no mistake, against a team 13th in la liga, at home and considering how the game went, that’s a shocking result. We are coupling having 20+ shots and only scoring 2 with conceding 2 despite the opposition performing poorly - that’s not a good habit.

Referee to be fair to him didn’t bite on everything but the Bruno yellow card was an insane decision.
Hopefully we have a strong ref in the away leg that won’t bow to the crowd demanding yellows for everything.
Honestly I couldn’t watch football week in week out where this type of behaviour is the norm. It’s grotesque

Not a great result. Lots of bad luck. I think we should and could have scored 5 though, and Sevilla had to rely on two lucky own goals. We’ll be fine. At 2-0 I totally understand why we made the subs. The reality is though Weg and Elanga aren’t UTD quality and Pellestri is still young. Going down to 10 screwed us.

You should manage us instead. He’s clearly a fraud. I’ll just whisper that. I wish we had signed Dalit instead of Dalot though. And also I hope your concerns about people not critieu (is that actually a word) the evil one, ETH till that 4 game losing run you are desperately hoping for, do not come to pass.

Extra time on Thursday in Seville, before Brighton at Wembley on the Sunday, anyone?

Finishing with an attack of Weghorst, Pellistri and Elanga got the level of respect from the gods of fortune as one might expect. Sheer complacency.
That match is really fecking worrying considering how balanced the Europa League tie is next week. I'd take an EL victory next Thursday over the FA cup right now.

Feck's sake, go three nil up and don't make that silly defensive error and we're really comfortable and can probably rest a few key players.

How old are you? This is a forum to discuss these exact things, if you feel the need to resort to this sort of tripe then you’re clearly not in a good place in your life. Hope you find what you’re looking for.

The last 10 minutes couldn't make it up.The subs even at the time I thought were a bit strange and killed any momentum we had.

I really hope we beat them next week their a disgrace.

Protest vote on match ratings. Everyone on the pitch when Sevilla came back got a 1 except Sabitzer. Sancho just awful.

It’s a mystery why there is no manager rating for the match. Ten Hag deserves a 1 for that pile of shit.

Clearly Sevilla saw how we were breaking the press in previous matches and adjusted accordingly. No adjustment by Ten Hag. Naive game management.

Ten Hags changes cost us tonight. They were pretty nonsensical in hindsight. See reply to my post above as to what you get on here for daring to say something negative about our lord and saviour.

Harsh to blame the manager, if he doesn't make changes people would be on here complaining he's not resting players with so many games coming up. Everyone knows the squad isn't good enough but we still should of had enough to see out the game we were in complete control of even with the subs coming on

I just watch the replay, I can't understand why we didn't trash Seville 4 or 5-0. Martial looks fantastic and on loan midfield was magnificent. Time and time again, I see Antony trying to score instead of passing to someone who is in a better position. I am done with Antony and I hope ETH tells him off.

I don’t agree. Unless Varane was injured he never should have departed. There has never been a reason to suggest we are better off playing maguire over lindelof. If martial ant able to play 90 now, after coming back from injury in late February, he never will be. Elanga - nothing to say.

That went to shit quickly. Malacia cost us the game with his brainfart.

Martinez is definitely out for the season as well. I'm pretty sure that's his achilles tendon he's injured.
Was it really Malacias fault though? He could have done more to block the cross granted, but Elanga just left the attacker to run and went off in the opposite direction. Totally dropped Ty in it.

Ten Hag got the game plan somewhat correct then proceeded to put on an utter disasterlass in how not to manage a lead.

All on the manager this one. He needs to improve and learn from it.

Possibly the worst 10 minutes of the season from 85 onwards. Malacia just needs to deal with the ball and there’s not really much Maguire can do. Massive, massive test of character in this squad over the next 3 games.
