Apparently we are unbeaten when Eriksen, Bruno and Casemiro have started a match together. 17 games(our strongest midfield has so few games together) 2 draws and 15 wins.

The fact they’ve only played 17 games together is mad.

Wonder how many times we have even played our “first choice” XI this season? Something that includes Varane, Licha, those 3 in midfield, and Rashford and Martial?

Superb. What a footballer to grab on a free, you can't really do better business than that. Excellent technique, intelligent, very professional, perfect really.

Have to say I doubted him in this type of role, but he can play it with ease.

We just need a little more support for him next season. It can't be the case that he has to play 50 games every season or our build-up goes to pot. He's not a youngster anymore.

Knew his sloppy performance off the bench vs Sevilla was just a one-off. Back to his best today. Now he's ironed out the rustiness, he'll be crucial for us from now until the end of the season.

Not once. They’ve never all featured. Assuming you mean normal back 5 (Either Dalot or AWB), the midfield 3 and Antony Martial Rashford. Very frustrating.

It hasn't happened yet. We've come close 3 or 4 times with one of them missing out. The closest was the FA Cup tie vs Everton where all of them but Martinez started, but he did come off the bench. Also got pretty close in the away game vs Everton when Varane started on the bench and Martial had to come off early.

That’s actually insane. I imagine in stark contrast Arsenal pretty much had an unchanged XI until Jesus got injured…

Love him. Proper professional, fills the role that is required of him and does it with aplomb. Versatile and efficient.

Just wish he was ten years younger. To be fair he was never the “fittest” player - but that is almost definitely a natural deposition than any indictment of his training. He didn’t need to be either, he has a world class football intelligence. Understands whatever system he’s in, the flow of the game, the positioning of his team mates and opponents.

Never had Shaw, Martinez, Varane, Bruno, Casemiro, Eriksen, Martial and Rashford on at the same time. Got very close a few times, but mostly cause Martial never lasted more than a half or so.

What do you mean? Because he has always worked very hard on the pitch and in his Tottenham days played around 50 a season

This comment surprises me. I think he must be extremely fit given his longevity, the way he is recovering from injuries, the work he puts in over a season despite getting into his 30s and having moved into the engine room. I don't see any other explanation that would make sense for what we see. Ultimately being intelligent and positionally good doesn't mean he lacks fitness either.

He used to be everywhere playing for Ajax and Spurs? Never would have said he wasn't fit in that respect, he's just never been fast.

Even at his peak in his Spurs days he wasn’t constantly doing gut busting runs all over the place. I’m not saying he was “unfit” for an athlete by any standard, just he never was much of a work horse and played the game in his head in knowing where to be and having better timing.

Look at say Bruno now, he whacks out 50+ 90 minute games a season up and down the pitch. That was never Eriksen, and dare I say Eriksen didn’t have that style of play in him. But they’re different players with different styles.

And to be fair let’s not have blinders on, earlier in the season he was faded by the 60th minute in a lot of games. He’s 31, let’s not pretend he’s 36+.

Again it’s not really a slight on him, more down to his body rather than his own work ethic.

Not how I remember it at all. Can’t recall his Ajax days so can’t comment on that, but for Spurs I remember him more floating around possession and saving runs rather than being an engine through the team.

Smooth operator this guy. Makes your team so much better on the ball and easier on the eye.

Pity the ref ruined us utilising that away to Sevilla with that ridiculous yellow to Bruno on Thursday night
Our luck with refs in Europe this season pisses me off. So many bafflingly wrong calls that have had a direct impact on us.

Im interested to see how he does v Sevilla especially with Casemiro back next to him as well. Its so nice to have a midfield again, it makes a huge difference having somebody intelligent and technically really good there.

Need more midfielders of his ilk in the team. At least 2 more.

Very good performance.

Great to have him back. He is just such a fantastic footballer and makes a lot of difference to how we play and control the game. Unpopular opinion but he was probably my personal man of the match yesterday.

Everyday I wake up thinking how the hell we got him for free. In games like yesterday he just looks head and shoulders above everyone else and seems like he's saving himself.

Eriksen was consistently at the top of the distance covered charts, even in the entire league, during his Spurs days. I'm pretty sure he would rank high in that aspect in the current United team also.

Thought he was excellent yesterday. Brings every player up a notch because his passes are off quickly and always onto the best foot or angle. Makes a massive difference as the game goes on and less time is wasted on checking back a yard to get the pass (like you get with Fred/McT).

His passing is ridiculously good and he picks right passes.

IMO Bruno plays well with Eriksen, he doesn't have to worry much about bringing the ball out of defense and also Bruno's off the ball movement means he will always be in the space and more often than not Eriksen picks him. One of the key combination for us in the attack.

Yup. Its insane how good those two are together. Its clear they read the game in a similar fashion. The freedom Bruno enjoys when he has Christian (and Case) behind him, lets him unleash his full creative brilliance.
I hope we add a more clinical striker in the summer.

Those short passes exchanged between Casemiro and Eriksen in the lead up to our 2nd goal were so simple but vital, something we need any new signings to be capable of.

If I remember correctly, ETH said he had all players available only once, against City at home.

Was he that good when playing for Spurs? I always thought he is the "has more time on the ball than others around him because of superior technique" kind of player, but he looks pure class.
