Let’s hope Ten Hag’s plan works. This is gonna be a tough game. I wonder if Sky will have cameras in the Brighton dressing room this time? Wankers

I'm glad Martial has started because Rashford is much better out to the left and completely wasted through the middle.

Fred starts. Didn't see that coming. Will it be a masterclass or absolute garbage?
A little perplexed by that. Seems to be about better protection. But am not sure he gives that and has been poor in recent games. Eriksen allows us better possession

Surprised, quite an attacking lineup, I personally would have added another midfielder to make it more compact. Let's see how the game turns out

Expecting us to lose this, badly. But a win would be huge so let's hope they're fecking up for it!

Fred changed the game for us against Brighton in the semi final, so I'm glad ten Hag has made the decision to start him.

if fred and bruno are in the midfield should have some good legs in there with case. Think eriksen over fred wouldve meant not near enough movement in there.

I'm glad Eriksen is sitting this out. He can be a bit lightweight at times and always flaps when through on goal.
He's just come back from injury, but has been excellent in half hour stints. If we are trying win, or see out the game in the final half hour, he is the perfect option off the bench.

Only niggle I have is which Fred turns up tonight? The one who bossed City and Barcelona, or the one who kept passing the ball to Spurs/Sevilla players.

Let's pray that Fred somehow manages to make more successful passes to his teammates rather than Brighton players. Unlikely I know.

i really just hope no WW tonight. Really no reason i could ever see him being needed. If chasing a goal im bringing sancho/eriksen/pellistri on well before him. If holding a lead i still bring literally anyone else on to run around a bit up top.

Gross missing for them is a boost considering his record against us. But it's an away game against a decent side so fully expecting defeat.

ETH think has learned that in away games, we need the energy in midfield at least for now. It will be good to have Eriksen to come on either to get control of the game to see it out or with just more creativity (hopefully not the latter).

Yikes, our away record against the top 9…

I think we will get beaten tonight, hard to see anything else. I’d kill for a draw right now.

Not worried about Fred starting at all, I think he'll do well. With Eriksen not able to play the full 90 ever I don't think this is the worst decision anyway, Eriksen in at 60 minutes to help us keep control instead of him going off around the same time and us immediately losing control will be a nice change as well.

Ten Hag giving Incey a bottle of wine because of this news story. Ince looks like he's about to shit himself.

There's only 2 games I can even say we played well in, Arsenal and Spurs. And in both we only played well for part of the game.

Cautiously optimistic. A team chosen to soak up pressure and counter to Martial's feet with Rashford running in. Fred's mobility makes sense to annoy Mac Allister and Gilmour. Eriksen to come on at like 55 minutes.

Right choice in playing AWB against Mitoma. Did well against him in the cup. Good to see that ETH knows we need Fred’s legs against these. Eriksen would have got over ran.

Good to see Fred starts, obviously Eriksen cannot play two games in 4 days, understandable lineup.

I can see we at least get a draw, bet on 2-1 win as a said in previous post!

It's the question that leads to Fred being one of the most exciting players to watch.

Fernandes in a central position, Eriksen dropped for a few poor performances, no Sabitzer… it’s probably the best side we can field right now

Which Fred will show up today? Also, Malacia must be heavily out of favor.

Good team I think. Obviously Eriksen instead of Fred is better from a control and chance creation perspective, but I guess he's hoping Fred solidifies things in there today. That really depends on which Fred turns up.

The stats would suggest we won't do well in this away game but I know we're perfectly capable of winning it and I'm hopeful.

Yet another different back four which is worrying. Looks to have strengthened midfield defensively which isn't a bad idea as long as martial (fat chance) and rashford show up... looking at the bench shows just how far ahead of us City are (watching Halaand's goal last night is how I want to see us next season)

I'm now seeing that Gilmour is actually RB. Surely that's absolutely mental against rashford?
