Arsenal overachieved and exceeded expectations. Their fans should be happy for the 2nd position and being back in the CL.
They should enjoy this succes and next year CL. I think they would struggle to make top 4 next season.

What’s cute is they rested players in cup games because they had “bigger fish to fry”. Unfortunately the cooker packed in 4 weeks ago.
Maybe if you had rotated more you would have been a lot closer and not stumbling towards top 4. Can work both ways.

Saved the biggest defeat for the end. Brilliant.
Lost about 12 points over 5 games. An absolutely unreal throw away job.

You led the league for 90% of the season. The highest ever to not win it.

I'd be devastated. This is very likely your one chance for the foreseeable.

Oh dude, your defence of your team has been cute. Your best season in 20 years has still ended up worse than Utd. You guys ought to have known better having seen the same heritage for 20 years.

Some of you still believe you’ll challenge again next year. It’s the hope that kills you.

That was Arteta's one and only shot I reckon.
When you think Pep spent the early months pissing about, not playing the likes of Dias, it was definitely the one chance to get ahead of City.

They can't possibly match their early season form again, and they'll be facing a renewed Liverpool, Newcastle and hopefully us next year.

Everyone laughed at Neville and he’s been completely right so far.
Robbie arrogantly huffing and puffing at that fan debate thing when Neville said in the nicest possible way he didn’t think Arsenal had it in them at is hilarious to watch now

If they come back next year and push City again, fair enough. But I don't think they will. This was the chance and they blew it.

Difference is, we actually have something to show for this season. With an - albeit slight - opportunity to add to it. Weak riposte.

Feck Arsenal!!

Only shitshow I'll be cheering from us this season will be next week. I'd say Lampard should play the kids for that one but we'll get beat regardless of who plays so will just sit back, relax and take the L in memory of Arsenal's title challenge.

Of course it's not a nice feeling. Better to have loved and lost than to never love at all as the saying goes, it certainly beats being down in 8th, that's for sure.

You have to give credit to Liverpool (you don't) but they've been the real deal in their fight against City.

This Arsenal team are probably slightly better than Mourinho's United but not on the level of City or Liverpool.

I think we'll see this team humbled next season. Although I think they'll be in the mix for top 4.
Yes. Crazy to think Liverpool have only won one title in seven seasons.

TBF to Arsenal I thought they wouldn't finish in the top four after their bottle job last season but they finished in second with relative ease. Problem for them is City are only going to get stronger with Haaland quick off the mark. Not to mention the other teams around them improving. Who knows though, if they get a suitable cover for Saliba they may go deep next season.

The fact they’ve crumbled in 5 pressure games in their last 10 is typical of Arsenal heritage. They simply over achieved longer than people expected.

The wolves are out, they smell flesh, I can't keep up with the replies. :wenger:

To be fair to you, at least you’re present.

Once upon a time, Arsenal fans used to post in this thread. They must have got banned in back in March.

I've been down in 8th mate, I can assure you I've had a better time this season than I had then. Or you telling me how I'm meant to feel about this season?

Look at some of the results they had before they fell off the cliff, that could or should have gone another way, Bournemouth, UTD, Villa, 9pts could well have been 3pts or should have.

The sad thing is they were the only side that pushed City and looks like City will win it 2 games to . So it looks like the rest have some work to do again in Summer window, I was hoping like most gunners fans (I'm not) that they could do it , I didn't want either to win league but lesser of two evils I'd have plumped for Gunners

City will win the lot it's written for them now, perhaps then the FA can throw them out .

Wait, what? Have United finished above us?
He said you wouldn’t win the league and it looks like you won’t, despite what we’ve read for much of the season.
Shame really, I’d rather you lot win it than City but your side let us down.

Problem is that some Arsenal fans really started pissing on other clubs way too soon. Look at the jibes at United - who were never in a title race.

If the fans had kept it a notch down, Arsenal could have won the league. Should have taken it 1 game at a time.

All the title talk in February just got to the players. They never really recovered from that first loss to City.

let’s hope Madrid can do a number of them. Really don’t want City to win the treble.

I don’t think we beat them in the Cup final

If Gabriel and White are playing meaningful minutes for them again next season then they are screwed. Gabriel, in particular, is an utter liability.

I’ve said all along that they wouldn’t win the league and got laughed at for such an opinion in this very thread. Turns out I was right. Biggest bottle ever.

To play devil's advocate it's a bit strange to see some having a go at Arsenal for failing to win the league, considering they finished lower in the league last season than we did. Yet some say Ten Hag has worked miracles to get us as high as 4th.

You've said all along? What a bold prediction that was, well done mate, even though many Arsenal fans were saying the same. ;)

Exactly. I think it was a really good patch that flattered this Arsenal team greatly. They'll be fighting for 4th again next season.

Right about Liverpool too, this was their cycling off season so next season they'll suddenly be full of endless running and fighting for the top spot again once it kicks back in.

Losing to Brighton isn't so bad, the title was lost when they bottled the Liverpool game and then bottled a home game against the worst team in the league.

They didn’t though. They finished 5th, we finished 6th last season.
