Man I would have been so sad as an Arsenal fan this season. First real shot at the league in 20 odd years, being in first most of the season while playing great football only to come undone at the end. Depressing stuff.

While on paper you would say it’s been a better season than they’ve had in a long time I can’t see that being any solace for anyone when they were so close. Certainly would not be any solace for me.

Remember lads, it's not about the end, it's about the friends we made along the way.

We havent accumulated this many points by accident, its what happens when you play a highline and high press and have a front four of Odegaard, Saka, Martinelli, Jesus. Most of our top players are still in the development stage, even Arteta said this isnt our final form. No player we want to keep will leave this window, only players we want to sell. Arteta will have another productive window, no doubt he will find additional players to supplement what we already have. He has shown a real knack for recruitment and developing players.

Its not an accident, its not random. Good young manager, good young players all pulling in the same direction. Saka, Martinelli and Odegaard to all level up next season and be better than they were this season.

For arguments sake, lets say this season is because of seismic activity in the galaxy and our squad isn't that good. Which player do you think is showing false potential? Saka? Odegaard? Martinelli? Saliba? Jesus? Because the only way we will regress next season is if the players regress, so curous as to which ones you think will do poorly

Not enough to aim for "no regression next season". You need 95+ points to win the league these days. Where are those additional 8-10 points going to come from? You've played out of your skins this season, had big moments go your way and couldn't even take the title to the final day. Some title challenge.

They couldn’t handle the pressure when it became a real possibility they might actually win the title. Pathetic.

Brighton excellent. No idea what they were doing in midweek
Good example of how hard it is to play so many games in a week.

I've been real pissed off about our performances of but if we're honest we were brilliant the few weeks around that two legged Barca tie and the amount of games we've played was always going to catch up. It's insane especially considering the World Cup as well.

Just been beat by the better team on the day, simple as that. Mistakes punished for the first 2 goals. Brighton done that to many a team this season.

Brighton went a goal up and didn't look back.

The game last week was no reflection of how they've been all season. Had they went a goal up against Everton, game would've been completely different.

Seriously! You'd think they're Real Madrid supporters or something, used to winning every year. Their first real title challenge in years and they couldn't remain and applaud the team off for the effort. Such a spoiled bunch. Say what you will about the scousers, they're never leaving Anfield in droves just because they missed out on the title after putting up a good fight most of the season.

Jesus is not that good to begin with. And a team needs more than 3 really good players with potential to win the league.

And the reason you will probably regress next year is not these highlighted players but the rest. Players like Xhaka, Tierney, White etc.

They told us they were in a Title race.

They’ve just been taken to the cleaners in their own back yard. They’ve folded so quickly they’ve even let City win the title in the next game which is their final home game.

Everyone laughed at Neville and he’s been completely right so far.

There’s a reason City is the only team not to really have a lull. Any other team with normal, non juiced squads have struggled to keep the same levels after the WC at certain points.

How are you so certain that Odegaard, Saka, Martinelli, etc haven't played out of their skins this season in a purple patch and won't be as good next year.

As you said, they're still in development and development isn't a straight line, it's up and down.

If the only way you will regress next season is if the players regress then I'd expect that more than improvement from a high point already.

Especially with the psychological damage capitulating like this will have on the whole squad and management.

100%. That's why people won't understand why I despise Arsenal so much! That's not even factoring in what they did to Wenger. I absolutely detest Arsenal and their disgusting fans.

You have to give credit to Liverpool (you don't) but they've been the real deal in their fight against City.

This Arsenal team are probably slightly better than Mourinho's United but not on the level of City or Liverpool.

I think we'll see this team humbled next season. Although I think they'll be in the mix for top 4.

What’s cute is they rested players in cup games because they had “bigger fish to fry”. Unfortunately the cooker packed in 4 weeks ago.

This is why ETH has been going all in on every game. He knows the importance of building a winning mentality. Arteta let Arse take their foot off the gas, they lost the mental title race at that point.
