Looks like they are getting absolutely nowhere in debt ceiling talks, 14th amendment looks like what it will be.

Strange though, the corporate class that owns the republican party, and doesn't exactly have a small stake in the democratic party either, you would think they will not accept this at the end of the day, default is bad for their business as well.

It’ll get done, the question is if it’s before or after June 1.

One would think the elites would be banging on their political minions to not default, but that wealth class won’t feel much at all if it happens.

This is just the republicans playing politics. The US have been here many times in the past, there is a lot of money to be made on stock markets with this kind of last minute shenanigans. Always remember it's about manipulating the markets and currency to make money. They will not default but you know this is going to cause panic in the markets.

The UK did this with the Truss nonsense, Kwarteng told people in the markets what was gonna happen with his budget which blew up and some made a fortune from it, I suspect we'll see similar in the US on the eve of June 1st.

My brain can't get pregnant!
I think he's insinuating that Bobo dumped her husband for this guy, Similar to the Marge model of dumping one's spouse once they've made it to the next level.

There's a rumour going round that Marge is pregnant hence her sudden dumping of her husband. That would be hilarious if true.

I'm at a loss, half the GOP is saying Biden is to blame for covid, and the shutdowns, and so on.

Now, while Trump is a piece of shit, i wouldn't exactly blame him for the covid situation either, but all this did happen under his watch, not under Biden, i don't see how anyone can deny that.

This is not a new pattern either, republicans pretended Bush didn't exist either, and called it the "Obama recession", like Obama was the first president since Reagan or something.

I don't want to be insulting, but just watching the random Fox "News" show, random interviews with people in republican areas, i really do get the impression these folks don't live in the real world.
