Good response after the second goal was disallowed. Sancho has looked good on the right. Rashford needs to play more with his team mates.

Sloppy start but after the pen save from DDG (can’t believe I’m typing that) we have looked the much better team. Sancho & Garnacho are causing havoc down the wings which is encouraging stuff. Sancho in particular has looked fantastic down the right yet again. Please don’t switch him to the left as he’s wasted there.

Sancho has been great on the right for these past couple of games.

Dalot shouldn't get a new contract, so conservative in his approach except when he has a chance for a dumb shot from a distance.
I never really understood the love Dalot got in here. He was pretty bad when he came, and it seemed to take him forever to get up to the level of merely competent - at which point some people started raving about him for some reason. And since his injury he’s been mostly back to his worst.

Weird half. Neither team seemed to care, then a typical Maguire/De Gea brainfart to give a corner for absolutely no reason, then we looked ratteld, should have conceded a second due to another Maguire/Casemiro brainfart. After that, we were excellent for about 20 minutes, which is nice to see.

This front 3 is pretty good, working well with Fred's energy. We look much better with Fred than Erisksen.

Garnacho looks hungry today. And I'm not referencing his BMI. Could have had two.

Slow start to the game, but after conceding we actually started to play some good football. Hopefully we can build on it more and get a few more goals

With the much improved Wan-Bissaka, who is defensively much better than Dalot, it wouldn't surprise me if we get an attacking right back in Frimpong or Hakimi to give us two different options.

That being said, Wan-Bissaka has arguably been better than Dalot going forward, too.

Not a good performance at all. Happy for DDG to save a penalty, though.

    Fred's been ok at best.....

He's hustled and bustled, but did people not see the 2 or 3 absolute hospital passes he made (that only didn't turn to disaster because someone managed to nip the danger in the bud)?

That must be one of the best halfs Fred has delivered in a United shirt. And definitely the worst half-half Casemiro has.

our attack looking the best it has in ages. Maybe this is the right mix of players?

Really not sure why Fred has been out in the cold so much recently. Eriksen’s the far better passer but Fred is basically better at everything else
More over, he actually fits this team better.
ETH has been wrong to play Eriksen at all costs imo. We peaked this season against Barca when Eriksen wasn't there. That doesn't take anything from Christian, but Fred has been out of favour for no reason.

But it’s very good for DDG, he will be more assured of himself if next Sunday it goes to penalties

The goal conceded was a bit of a shambles but apart from that, we've been decent. Some good play around their box but the finishing touches still allude us. The usual weaknesses are there too, but since it's an almost meaningless game, I can forgive that. One thing to note is that Garnacho shouldn't start against City. He's had a hard time running against Tete, wouldn't fancy him against Walker. A sub appearance would suit him much more.

De facto dead rubber match. Some players need the rest, others need a workout. There’s not much to get excited about or perturbed over. This is how it should be.

    Thank God we beat Chelsea.

We should have been playing this midfield much more often, Fred's energy is more valuable than the extra ball playing quality of Eriksen in combination with the other 2.

Then you're not paying attention. Fred has been dominant. Won the ball back 5 or 6 times, assist, many good involvements in and around the oppo box. Our best player.

The difference a quality striker would make to this team is immense. Also someone to spot for Case.

Had to go elsewhere to see the pen save and goal.

Dave was actually pretty good for that save imho

Edit - and loved Fred hustling to create that equaliser

I agree, Garnacho's been very good in flashes, but people seems to miss the amount of balls he loses & loose passes that he makes (just behind, just too soft, etc...).
He's a great prospect, but when he starts, he's usually relatively poor (esp. compared to when he comes on after 60/70mins)

De Gea's penalty save changed the half definitely. But Fulham are up for this even though it's meaningless game for them.

Won’t be surprised if he starts the final ahead of Eriksen. His best performance of the season came in that derby win back in January.

Garnacho should stay wide, he is no good in pockets of space. That's why we have Rashford Bruno and Sancho for.

Fred works with this team much better than Eriksen.

We have so many players that are not suited or trained to control games. Our midfield of Fred, Case, Bruno are all hotheads, who may be good for certain games where we don't dominate possession as much, but we can see why Eriksen keeps getting played despite his physical weakness. And we keep fluffing promising attacking positions - at least not good enough for a team aspiring to challenge.
