This is nuts.
Last time a Spanish team lost to a non Spanish team in a final was when Bayern beat Valencia on penalties. When was the last regular time defeat?

Are you really saying current Juventus, Sporting, Roma are great teams?

Barcelona was in the UEL because they got knocked out in UCL group stage, they aren't a great team at all, the MSN Barca was a great team, this current Barca is not, not at all.

Arsenal was too busy with Premier League.

And we should see how United does it next season yet.

I stand firm, i barely see any great team in the Europe League.
You mean compared with RB Leipzig, Frankfurt, Club Brugge, Tottenham, Chelsea, Liverpool, Milan?? Talking out yer arse, mate.

Would love to have group of Bayern, United and Sevilla next year
I'm afraid, but that's not possible.
Due to winning the Europa League Sevilla joined Bayern(and City, Barcelona...) in pot 1.

There is no such thing as 'great team' playing UEL, buddy.

This is not the old UEFA Cup when you had world class players and top teams playing the competition, cause UCL had less spots for the top leagues.
City and united both finished with 89 points in 2011/12 and played Europa league. Strongest I can think of right now

Genuinely forgot this was on. Apparently a terrible game but pleased Seville won and Jose lost

Those teams not being great doesn't make current Europa League teams great, mate.

There aren't great teams in Europa League, not even the winner Sevilla is a great team, they are 11th in La Liga.

Well it does make a mockery of the Champions League though doesn't it, to use your logic.

Both teams were bang average. The fact United, Barcelona and Arsenal were in this and these 2 got to the final was half amusing and half makes me wonder if Sevilla have some type of curse over this tournament. Have fun next season Liverpool fans.

Something about him being dressed like someone's dad on holiday with the shades on top of the head and phone in hand to boot makes it even funnier
No security, no staff to hold him back, no one cares they're just staring like some random crazed fan is having a moment

Sevilla are the Real Madrid of the Europa league. They can win it while being terrible, others have to be genuinely brilliant to do so.

Two absolute crap house teams crap housing their way to penalties made one hell of a crap final it was dreadful but as soon as Sevilla got to the final you new they would win its a shame we didnt put them to bed at Old trafford in the first half but again chances where wasted it could have been 4-0 after 30 minutes.

This is nuts.
I remember posting up that record after 2021 Europa league final, and the view was a better manager than Ole will end that run, well on it goes and even Jose with the best record in European finals was unable to stop it. Just a pity Man City aren't playing La Liga team in the upcoming Champions league final.

You are going to make a meme of the year to this comment...sevilla last year was 4th in the league and this year has been a bad year but even so we have managed to win a title that you discredit for being from a club where you have infinite budgets and spend on rashford, sancho and antony about 260M that is not worth even the entire sevilla squad.

You in your best year you have not won it and you are wrong..in the uefa there were great teams like arsenal, barcelona, united and many others.

I wish you a great champions league and I hope to cross in

We were? We were running like we had cement boots on in the second leg. That game was lost before it even started.

I didn't watch many of Sevilla's games, but I'd say Fenerbahce were closer to eliminating them than we were.

Cant take spanish clubs seriously with their shit housery. Against Jose's team, they pushed it another level of snorefest. Its so tiresome to watch them.

There was some bit of football between all the scraps, fights, diving and yellow cards to half of the both benches.
I wouldnt's say I lost 90 minutes of my life for nothing but its certainly close.

Nice work getting money from two competitions and a trophy. Don't worry if we get them in the group stages. They will be too intent on getting themselves back into the EL.

Mallorca against Inter? 98/99

And in both those scenarios, Mallorca and Alaves getting to those finals was a big success.

In the 1999 CWC, Mallorca beat the holders Chelsea who finished 3rd in the Premier League that season, and narrowly lost in the final to a pretty star studded Lazio team who had a significantly larger budget than them, were spending big money at the time, and narrowly missed out on the Serie A title to Milan.

I think Alaves beat Inter (surely at the very least one of the 3 biggest spending clubs in world football at the time) and absolutely destroyed Kaiserslautern in the semis to get to their final. And once there, pushing a strong and improving Liverpool team that would finish 3rd in the Premier League and had already won 2 other trophies that season, to extra-time in a thrilling match was very good going. I vaguely remember Javi Moreno being on fire.

It's OK, Europa League is Sevilla level, cause they aren't good enough for the UCL, and there is nothing wrong with that.

I'm just stating that there aren't great teams playing Europa League, not even the winner of this competition is a great team.

Sevilla doesn't even have top individual quality (Other than old Rakitic, no top team would want any of their players) and they knocked out teams with more money than them (United,Sevilla, and Roma).

That is very impressive itself, despite the competition being second rate.

Extra time felt like another 90 mins on it's own.

Absolutely disgusting game of football.

Really hope the CL final follows this recent pattern of penalty shootout finals. Only way Inter can win.
