They did disappoint me once. Went to see them around 1995, when the original non-successful version of Born Slippy came out. Was beyond hyped for it and then they just played a hardcore techno set with no recognisible elements of a single song from the album. I was gutted!

Made up for it on the dubnobass anniversary tour where they played the whole thing in the way I was expecting them to all those years earlier
Was it Underworld playing or just Darren Emerson? They'd tag on the Underworld name quite a bit iirc and he was bloody brilliant, if you're looking for a techno night, that is.

Rose's voice sounded rough but he's in his 60's tbf and even a decade ago that was happening.

It could've been anyone playing anything though  Might've just as well gone to the Boardwalk or something
TBF I had that with a Death in Vegas gig, was really looking forward to it, but it just did nothing for ages, it was so flat and no vibe, it kicked in for about thirty minutes at the end of a hour and half set, proper let down, The Contino Sessions is an amazing album.

It was all three of them. They were all on stage, but there was barely any vocals or anything.

Disappointing gig aside, I think they really lost a dimension when Darren left

Speaking of Underworld, Mr. Hyde's daughter's band Black Country, New Road play The West Holts stage tomorrow at 2pm. Arguably the best up and coming band in the world.

It's a stunning tune.
Agreed! The video is really good as well. I was playing it t'other night, and Hands Around my Throat too. I love 'Rocco', that was the one that got me into them but I've not heard it for ages.

Note to self: play it :nono:

Weird. Oh 100% they were never the same after he headed off.
A Hundred Days Off is one of my favourite sunny day albums, along with Melody AM by Royksopp.

Both remind me of holidays in Cornwall.

That was awesome. Do they not do fake endings and contrived encores at Glastonbury or is that the editing? It seems wrong to just keep playing and walk off.

Totally get you. A lot of the time our favourite music is situational or evocative of a mood or of a memorable time.

I was a techno/dnb head at the time (and the harder the better) so when Emerson left the sound changed in a way that made it, while entertaining, a little bland for my tastes but also the prior albums had encapsulated a specific period in my life with a specific group of people and that had started to drift by the time a hundred days off came out.

That is very arguable! Imo they have a habit of disappearing too far up their own arses to make it big but they have their moments.

Do me a favour, wait for a sunny day, sit in your garden or somewhere beautiful and stick that on with headphones, then come back to me.

First two albums are great but I’m not sure you can call a band whose lead vocalist and guitarist left “up and coming”!

But, considering they now play none of that material anymore and never will unless he rejoins the band, they are essentially a new band just operating under the same name.

I've seen 'em three times since Isaac left and I think they're a better band now than they were then

Slapped some headphones on as the missus has gone to bed, Fatboy set sounds pretty damn good, enjoying it.

I see your Melody AM and raise you Moon Safari. Ill be saving it for my holiday in a few weeks with a balcony view of the ocean, at midnight with the stars, on my own, a few beers, everyone asleep and the warm air and pool glistening below.

Checking in for the first time in a while, but that performance once again reminded me why Guns N' Roses has always been, and will be my favourite band of all time. Axl Rose, has energy that most frontman will never be able to show, Slash is incredibly timeless, Duff McKagan is a brilliant bass player, Melissa Reese consistently showcases her amazing talents, not to mention the brilliance that Richard Fortus, Frank Ferrer and Dizzy Reed bring to this legendary band. The best!

Not bad, not bad at all, definitely in the conversation.

BTW, that sounds like bliss.

Hope Lewis Capaldi can get better soon. He is a good singer and a genuinely great guy so it’s heartbreaking to see him go through this

Only saw this this morning, it was quite a lovely moment

200k

That's overstating by some distance. This is what happens when you arrive late for your alot at Glastonbury. You get cut.

Yeah I really don't care about the content of the tweet. It was the only one which went to the end of the song. Bit of a killjoy, aren't we?

Yeah, probably .
But if she can't make it on time to her set, she gets cut.
This sort of thing would wind me up had I been there wanting to see her, yeah it's a cool moment people singing her sing, but this only happened due to her being late, she only played half hour or so I think.

The best singalong was after Macca last year. Now that really was over 100k singing.

Oh was that all? That's not great at all. Yeah you'd be pissed off alright.
