ETH's tricky reds
Frenkie had already called Ten Hag and told him that he will love to come to sunny Manchester and that he is already buzzing to play every week at the Theatre of Dreams. He added that Barca are small club and they will bankrupt sooner rather than later and won't waste more time there.

His wife did not agree to come with him and because of that he left her, adding that there are many other women in Manchester/England. Ten Hag was most pleased with the deal because he will finally see his boy at Old Trafford by his side.

He already have submitted his transfer request and have been told by Sheikh Jassim that his covid salary will be paid of by him. SJ promised to him that he will be the face of the new project and everything depends on him. Afterwards Rashford called him and said "yo Frenkie sunny innit" that was the turning point and indicated that the deal was close to being done.

Genuine world class player, twice the player Mason Mount is. Sadly, will never happen.
Different players. Frenkie de Jong is obviously way more press resistant, better passer and in possession, dribbler and ball carrier. Mount offers more creativity in the final third, goal threat/assists, work rate and pace.

Still not comparable in terms of quality. Frenkie would take us (or any other team) to a different level while Mount would just fit in well.

Frenkie wouldn't make much of a difference if we're still stuck with De Gea and Martial.

Very much different profiles yes, but both would play alongside Casemiro and Bruno if signed, so basically fighting for the same position. Mount is a great presser higher up the pitch and a goal threat for sure, but FdJ smokes him in almost all midfield metrics. De Jong is world class, Mount is a good player imo, but not someone who's going to take us to the next level.

Didnt we agree a ~60M deal for FdJ with Barca last year? That's similar to what Chelsea are asking for Mount tbf.

The news isn't really that big, Frenkie is one of their valuable assets to raise money. We also accepted a fee with Barca last summer, that is not the problem..

We shouldn't even be looking at this, the player only wants to stay.

Mount will be used a lot at LAM, RAM, CAM and CM.

He isn’t just a central player for someone like Ten Hag.

We are in the Champions League. One obstacle out of the way for FdJ.

There's smoke City sniffing around.

A baller keeper, FdJ and a striker would elevate us on many levels.

They really jumped the shark in Frenkie 9 when they had ten Hag and McClaren go into space

Indeed but Frenkie was still not convinced to leave Barcelona as he is all about Family and his Family prefers the life in Spain.

If you haven't been following the news, we are after a GK and CF alongside a CM this summer. No matter what happens, we won't go to the next season with De Gea and Martial as starters.

we’re nothing more than a 24 year-old guy named kyle, who still lives in his mom’s trailer, begging his 16 year-old girlfriend to sleep with him after prom.

This is what really bugs me, when has shifting a player in multiple positions every worked out for us? Rooney at CM, CAM, wide areas. Fellaini as a CM and as a false 9. Constant confusion about where to play Pogba. Sancho is seemingly good at one position every week according to our fans. Mount at all these positions is going to be exactly the same, just bang average.

Well I think that’s what Mount is supposed to be good at according to Chelsea fans.

He always gives you that consistent 7/10 performance.

It might not be something the fans particularly value - but a player who is arguably quite versatile in different positions such as LAM, CAM,RAM, CM and maybe even False 9/SS - always giving you a consistent 7/10 performance is going to be valuable to the manager.

Ten Hag is a more systematic type manager than Sir Alex Ferguson or Moyes - he values a systematic approach against the opposition because that’s how modern football is played now more so than ever.

I never rated Mount - but watching him providing crosses from out wide to score from & score goals himself from making runs in to the box - I can see why that’s important for a striker like Hojlund or Kane.

We need creativity for our strikers - Fernándes gives us some centrally creativity whilst Mount gives us some wider creativity.

Mount arguably takes the role & position of - Fred, Sancho, Van De Beek, Iqbal, Elanga and possibly even Hannibal or Pellestri or the further forward playing version of Mctominay.

That’s a lot of value for one player - and a player that always gives you 7/10 performances no matter the player or position he plays. This doesn’t mean he never gives you an 8 or 9/10 performance - it’s just at the very least he gives you a 7/10.

Trying my hardest not to get sucked into this again. He is definitely the player worth going all out for though, so I am torn.

Despite all the hysteria and ‘not agains’ of recent pages, I’ve not even seen one journalist say that we are trying to sign Frenkie. No idea where all the ‘we need to just give up’ and the like has come from, nobody has alluded to us pursuing him, and everything suggests that we are pursuing other midfielders. A conversation about nothing.
