 So the whole UEFA case was just a theatre act to make UEFA look like they were doing their job and also give a sneaky way out for City to avoid punishments.

This was the best UEFA could do. City gave them 2 options. Take the brown envelopes or face my team of best lawyers in the world. Either way City win.

Khaldoon can laugh all he wants now. Hopefully karma will catch up with him soon.

Records British revenues my ass. I will never believe that City revenues can be more than Man Utd, RM, Barca, BM treble or not.
The money in the game for winning things now is more than ever, and the global reach of social media is now bigger than ever. That drives more money into the game than we’ve ever seen. It’s how all of these crazy transfer fees are being funded. Money doesn’t know about “history & traditional in the 90s & 00s”.

We’ll see when the results come out next year, but you could cut a big chunk of the commercial revenue (if you wish), and it’ll still be right up there in terms of total revenue. United benefited from being the top team when the PL & Sky TV money landed, and created a financial gap with the rest of the league. This is just history repeating itself in the age of social media.

AsI write this, I read City have agreed a deal with OKX to be the sleeve sponsor for 3 years for £55M+ … not bad (and backs up my point.. sleeve sponsors didn’t really exist when you were last winning things regularly).

How did City get to the the stage where this £55m is legitimate?

It's crazy how City fans just ignore a decade of cheating that has allowed them to have a decent net spend in recent years and attract sponsors from winning ill gained trophies.

Through significant investment. How else? Another other route is impossible. There isn’t a City fan on the planet who would deny that without it we would be where we are today.

There’s a perception that City fans deny ownership investment along the way to get us to where we have today. I don’t think that’s the case. We just don’t care about FFP because the intent of it was to stop teams like City winning big trophies. If anything it just makes it all the more sweet.

Easy to forget that all of these charges everybody is up in arms about are against rules that were only introduced 10 years ago, with many clubs of the fans who are so vocal having benefited from significant ownership investment prior to that.

Funny that because alot of your sponsors don't exist either.

Pull the other one, everyone can see what is happening at City.

Deluded.
So why did your club sign up to and agree with the rules?

Saying you don't care about the rules doesn't make them go away. You can't, for example, just declare you don't agree with the off side rule so you get extra goals allowed.

A bit of research would bring to your attention the following timeline:

Mar 2022 - OKX start sponsoring Man City

Jul 2022 - OKX increase their sponsorship

Also Jul 2022 - OKX receive a provisional license allowing them to operate in the UAE
https://www.bloomberg.com/news/arti...kx-gets-dubai-license-set-to-open-hub-in-city

June 2023 - OKX announces plans to expand Middle East operations
https://www.reuters.com/technology/...on-with-eye-middle-east-expansion-2023-06-15/

Jul 2023 - OKX increase their sponsorship yet again

This is the take from Man City fans that cracks me up. The rules are the rules ffs. Shall we start complaining about every goal disallowed because it was scored in an offisde position just because back in the 1800's the rule didn't exist and it's not fair on anyone that scored a goal since (this is a ridiculous example but the point stands)?

The rules were introduced because outside investment was starting to give teams an unfair advantage. Just because others got away with it before the rule existed doesn't mean City have a right to break those rules.

Much like Chelsea's recent 8-year contracts to bend the rules. It's shady as feck, and new rules have been implemented to prevent it, but they've done nothing wrong aside from makes us hate them a little more.

It was also to prevent Leeds situations where owners can destroy finances.

How were these charges brought against us ? What made the pl think ok thats go through Citys books we think they are cheating. On what grounds did the pl have to investigate ?

just say if City had proof that a club was up to no good and City present it to the pl. The pl than ignore it because it doesnt suit the pl to investigate said club. What would happen next ?

Non of this sounds above board to me. It's clear some clubs have put pressure on the pl to investigate City. City have said feck off we arent giving you information to pass onto the other clubs.

The red tops have the press/media in their pockets and get them to throw shit at City.

It's all as bent as a nine bob note

How do the pl know that utd books are clean. They cant get the information from the Carmen Islands banks"

 Typically your sponsors are paying 10% of what City are reporting and your accountants are figuring out how to funnel in the rest.

Also you’re aware that social media exists for everyone and the more followers you have, the more influence you have and the more influence you have the more money you will get? United will have players with more followers than your club. Your own manager is more influential than your club.

Just because City fans don't care about FFP it doesn't give them the right to break the rules that every other club is adhering to.
If a clubs fans don't agree with VAR as its only been introduced recently can they just ignore it when goals are disallowed?

City fans really have bought into the myth. How you can possibly think city are legitimately anywhere close in revenue to the top teams in the world is fascinating.

Being caught cheating has also been planned for. They don't give a fk. They knew that doing it legitimately would take them an extra 10/15 years to get to where they are now and they knew the risks of cheating. But they also know they can just throw lawyers at it. And even if that doesn't work then what's the worst that will happen? Points deduction + fine? So they will have a year not winning anything. So what? That's better than waiting 10/15 years. The controversy will die down and be forgotten, the titles will still be in their pocket, the machine will be well oiled so they can just keep going after a year out. Makes no difference. Even now they are still cheating. Even if they are found guilty etc they will still cheat. Newcastle are cheating right now. Unless there is a significant punishment i.e the titles are taken away and they are relegated which won't happen, then cheating is worth it

They've won a ton of trophies in recent years. That's a legitimate reason why they'd pull in so much revenue (not speaking in relation to Madrid or United, don't care about dick measuring contests) on their own merits (which they "artificially" obtained)

I'm not sure why so many people think revenue is unattached to recent success. Otherwise, why is Milan skint as feck? They're a big club, right? Ditto for Ajax.

Yes they're getting revenue now by winning things but the point is they got here by cheating the system and having an advantage over every other club that is playing by the rules

The scouse have won every trophy in recent years too, and had a hell of a head start over city in terms of brand recognition.

Yet are nowhere near the same turnover.

Because they follow the rules.

You seem as lost as City fans. Obviously success brings in revenue. Success doesn’t take a tiny club to one of the most highest revenue generating teams in the world though. That’s stupidity.

I’m not sure if you realise the revenue between clubs in the positions near them isn’t massively different. Around £2m per position in the premier league.

City have just won the UCL for the first time in their history. Their recent success does not validate their reported revenues.

They've not had half the success of City in the last 10 years. I don't feel like counting the amount of trophies City has won but it seems much more than 4

FFP is excellent and makes a lot of sense in modern football. People arguing it was brought in to protect a "cartel" don't actually understand it and don't realise it's the cartels that are actually abusing it and will ultimately ruin football (well underway).

In the last 20 years, wherever I have been in the world, I've seen people wearing liverpool shirts. Not as many as ours or real;s, but enough. In places where people didn't know city even existed.

A few trophies doesn't take you from 6000 hardcore fans from stockport to double the turnover of liverpool, when at that same time the couse won the premier league, champions league and were genuinely easily the most dynamic and watchable team playing the game. And I hate you for making me say that.
