Seems like it's random. My feed is absolutely fine right now.
Polarisation has increased tenfold after people started consuming news from social media.Read articles from a single news source that was often out of date the moment it was printed and thus only get a right wing/left wing point of view as well as miss out on loads of information from other sources?
Did you see the latest news on feeds getting a daily limit? That’s what people are discussingSome utterly bizarre views about Twitter in this thread. Clearly some people have either never used it or never actually figured out how to use it. Twitter for me has been by far the most useful social media app over the last decade. The variety & speed of content it provides is unmatchable.
Oh believe me I know about this rate limit thing but I was talking about some people in the last few pages talking about the general issue with Twitter as news etcDid you see the latest news on feeds getting a daily limit? That’s what people are discussing
True. If all they can see is a cesspit I'm not sure what that says about them. Granted there has certainly been an amplification of right wing nonsense since Musk took over though. Some utterly bizarre views about Twitter in this thread. It is a cesspit but if you use it as a way to centralize information without looking too closely at the comments, it does a great job.True. The last few years would suggest that Ship B folks are running things and would love to continue on with the plan to relocate Ship A folks. So how do we trick him in to building the Golgafrinchams Ark Fleet Ship B?
Besides billionaires, what other group is a dead cert on that ship?
Edit: The Golgafrincham Ark Fleet Ship B was a starship designed to relocate the useless part of the population from the planet of Golgafrincham.
that's why we give them the honor of being on the first ship out. Don't worry guys, we're right behind you.The last few years would suggest that Ship B folks are running things and would love to continue on with the plan to relocate Ship A folks.
This. Was such a perfect platform before he ruined it. So annoying.
Perfect? It was, and still is, pretty much the cesspool of the internet. Was such a perfect platform before he ruined it. So annoying.
Find that argument odd tbh. As a news resource it's invaluable, if you look at the comments then it's on you. It's not to be taken seriously, it's just the internet. No idea why people get so worked up about troll words on a screen.Perfect? It was, and still is, pretty much the cesspool of the internet.
I don't disagree with you. I just find any definition of the platform as being 'perfect' is odd, when its far from it.Find that argument odd tbh. When journalists and politicians do it, you don't even need an account there to be negatively affected by it.As a news resource it's invaluable, if you look at the comments then it's on you. It's not to be taken seriously, it's just the internet.
This attitude bothers me. The internet isn't just the internet anymore, it's an integral part of modern life. "It's just the internet", or "it's just trolling" is part of what makes social media and the internet such a potentially malignant influence. It's not to be taken seriously, it's just the internet. It usually refers to using bots or other scripts to automatically scan and/or download data from a website. Can someone explain to me what data scraping is and why that means people have to be limited to viewing X amount of tweets per day?
Data scraping is a big topic right now because of LLM like Chat GPT which derive intelligence by churning a large amount of data that is scrapped from the web by bots. It is similar to how search indexes like Google work but for LLMs, the dependency on actual content or data is huge. Now sites like Reddit and Twitter, are not happy that companies like Open AI are getting free access to their data and then getting value from tools like ChatGPT. This is also the reason behind recent Reddit API changes. Can someone explain to me what data scraping is and why that means people have to be limited to viewing X amount of tweets per day?
People were getting data from Twitter using their APIs. Which are sometimes provided for this very reason. Scraping from the actual website is very load intensive and also very difficult to guard against. Twitter paywalled their backend APIs, so people started scraping which probably affected Twitter's performance. Can someone explain to me what data scraping is and why that means people have to be limited to viewing X amount of tweets per day?

Your post is just hating a billionaire for what billionaires do. Which is fair enough. That’s your perogative. As billionaires go, Musk’s likely legacy puts him miles ahead of almost all of his peers in terms of having a positive affect on the world. So it just comes across as a bit predictable and unfair to single him out for your bile. If you care about the future of the planet anyway.
So long as billionaires exist (and they’re not going away any time soon) the world needs more billionaires like him and less like the anonymous 1%ers locking down crazy fortunes for their progeny, without giving a shit about anyone else.
More billionaires like Musk?@Eboue

Let's not forget that he's a true man of the people and stands up for the little man against corrupt elites.@Eboue
