Manchester United have verbally increased to 45 million, Inter continue to ask for 60
This has Mason Mount transfer written all over it again. I think 50+5 will get it done

Will DDG out of contract, it is impossible that we do not get a new goalie. Based on pure logic - the EtH connection, the fact that City struggled in CL final to press him, that he is a progressive passer and sweeper which changes our style of play, this is 90% done.

Need to get this over the line asap. Would be ridiculous going into pre season without a number 1 keeper.

Not far enough
We actually didn't perform better and carried on playing transition football before the wheels completely came off and Ole was sacked.
There isn't a single metric that can support that statement. We won more, scored more, defended better, broke down defences better, and improved league table position.

Why does it always sound like such a saga to actually get anything done - it’s made out that we don’t discuss and then just bid lower than what’s supposedly being wanted?

There are enough noises coming from Italy to suggest plenty of conversations have taken place and the price and structure must have been discussed.

One would have to assume that we need the sign off from the top and those boys are known not rush a decision especially on national holidays!

Must be quite frustrating for the Utd team getting everything sorted and then having to wait on Bill & Ben to approve - likewise for the selling team.

Longing for the day when they are gone……

Let’s debunk this myth once and for all.

It took Arsenal 3 weeks to complete Rice.
Lavia is being « monitored » by every top 4 club for 2-3 weeks.
Bayern hasn’t wrapped up Kim Min Jae although he only has a release clause.

We even had some Arsenal and Chelsea fans here who said that their fanbase also feels like all their transfers are long saga as well

So it’s not a United issue, it’s a bias issue because everyone here follows the transfer period on a daily basis

Thanks for this.

It boils my p!ss how people continually moan about our transfer dealings, like we're some kind of amateurs.

Liverpool signed MacAllister the day the window opened, they're so efficient, we should have been all over that, our transfer dealings are a shambles, we're such a circus, woe is me - conveniently leaving out the part MacAllister only wanted Liverpool and there was nobody else in for him.

Fifa and Champ manager generation. pffft

We've had 3 tier one tweets in the past week saying Inter are set to receive an offer on that day.
They we're expecting the offer to arrive but perhaps the pigeon didn't make it or the message became loose and fell off. The next one should get there.

Why does it take so much time to submit a written offer?
It’s been well documented at this point that we basically need to get approval for every little thing from the Glazers who micromanage every aspect of a transfer window, it would be easy for us send over a written offer but not so easy for us to get confirmation and approval from the Glazers in a timely manner about every aspect of that written offer

£12m difference. Get it done then concentrate on shipping out Fred, Maguire, DVB, Williams, Telles and Bailly. We might get £60-£70m from that lot if we are lucky, put that towards Hojlund.

Doesn't hurt trying for the best fee possible for us.

Like Mount I think meeting in the middle will get it done, 45m + 5m in bonuses maybe

Agree, add Henderson and McT to the list and we may get closer to £100million

Add McTominay to that list. I’d have him out the door first personally.

It is the other way around obviously. De Gea will be back if the club fail to sign Onana. It is clear Onana is the number one target goalkeeper and the club are putting out other stories to ensure Inter play ball. Inter need the cash but no harm Man Utd letting it be known they will retain De Gea or target someone else should Inter demand big money.

Something about the way he saves the ball, makes me nervous. I don't think he's a very good "keeper".

Looks calm and composed on the ball and a good passer but I don't see stand out saves or reflexes, handling looks clumsy and weak.

I'd say if ETH wants him, fine but get prepared for him not making the big saves we are used to seeing from DDG that win us games.
I agree, this is what makes me nervous. There is too much focus on playing out from the back and not enough on how the player is between the sticks, which should be his primary function.
Remember folks, goalkeepers are goalkeepers because they can’t play football. :nervous:
