Berry looks like he's often struggling physically and seems a bit slow but he's very good on the ball and sees the pitch well.

FT 3-2 United (Moorhouse, Williams, Musa)

A decent performance to start the tournament. We probably wouldn't come away with three points if it wasn't for Harrison and some poor finishing from Monaco. United looked very vulnerable when they countered quickly.

McAllister or Munro POTM for me.

Udinese same time tomorrow.

I appreciate the updates and it’s nice to see a positive result from the youth teams and by the sounds off it a few good performances. A fight back as well shows spirit and determination.

Despite the recent results there’s still a few players that I see potential in and hope to see more of next season.

Harrison, Munro, Lacey and McAllister should be regulars in this team and if the boys added can settle it could be interesting. I know youth teams line ups are by nature unpredictable, but if we can form a spine to work from, I’m sure it’ll aid the team in the long run.

Nice to read some positive messages in the youth forum for a change.

And yeah rotation will happen as it should be in youth football, but I get what you’re saying. In some positions (mainly the midfield) we’ll have decent depth, but other than that I think we will see quite permanent selections. Injuries always play a part though so who knows.

Kickoff delayed apparently due to a waterlogged pitch. We'll see if this goes ahead or not. After watching the same five ads run for 15 minutes there's finally feed from the venue. They're working on the pitch trying to make it playable. Teams and officials waiting to get onto the pitch.

Thanks Top. Keep us all updated and I’ll fire up the app if it goes ahead

Missin has started very brightly. One nice long run with the ball and one brilliant low cross to Biancheri who just needed to kill the ball to be one-on-one against the keeper in the box.

A great through ball finds Biancheri who's through from the right but fails to trouble the keeper from a tight angle.

Good ball from Baumann to Williams who's one-on-one with the fullback cutting inside from the left for the third time in the opening 10 minutes. End product missing so far, but seems only a matter of time until we create something through the left.

Quick counter from Udinese, Jackson with a crucial block in front of the goal.

Udinese get the ball in the net from a free kick but it's ruled out due to offside. Biancheri creates a brilliant chance for Scanlon who puts it over the bar from close range.

24'

Williams forces the keeper to a decent save from long range.

25'

Munro scores from the following corner, 1-0 United. Looping header over the keeper who should've probably done better.

Biancheri gets in the box from the left flank, serves a decent pass to the far post to Missin who hits the post. Still a bit open at the back but I'd say we've been better than yesterday. Udinese look a bit worse than Monaco though.

Think Kamason came on for Ogunneye on the 20th minute.

HT (40 minute halves) 1-0 United. Should've scored more and put this to bed already. To be fair Udinese had a chance or two too.

No problem. Not sure anyone reads them but hey-ho
I read them, and I'm very grateful for all the updates. :)

I don't post many 'opinions' on them though, as it's always a tricky line not to be called out for being either too negative or too positive about anything youth related.

But the updates are always much appreciated.

That Udinese RB looks like he's in his 40s.

Must say the broadcast production is very good in this tournament. After watching so many grainy single-cam feeds with no replays in youth tournaments, this is so nice to watch. Replays, graphics, different angles etc.

Musa on, Williams off. Missin switches to the left flank, Musa on the right.

Wouldn't pay too much attention to those who are calling people out for positivity. This forum needs more of that and young players in general should get the benefit of the doubt more often. It amazes me how after all these years and so many players proving us fans wrong someone can say with such certainty that a 16-year old player is shit and won't make it as a footballer and how we as a club shouldn't waste our resources on them.

There are a couple of posters who have their reasons for always posting when there's something negative to say and never give any credit to our academy, its staff or players.

The second half has been a bit of a non-event. Plenty of stoppages and free kicks in the middle of the park.

Neither team are creating much and it feels like we'll end up paying for not scoring more goals in the first half. After Williams came off we haven't really done anything going forward. That being said Udinese have created even less. Just feels like there'll be a late set piece from which we'll concede.

Missin on the right now, Musa on the left.

10 minutes left.

Lacey sitting on the bench with crutches. Hopefully nothing serious but definitely his tournament over you’d imagine.

Missed that. That's disappointing if true. Didn't see anything yesterday where that could've happened. More or less on Williams to take responsibility for creating something in this tournament as our midfield is decent but a bit workhorse-ish.

Yeah, really like him. Very aggressive if needed and pretty composed on the ball. A leader too.
Yeah he's pretty good, club must rate him highly too as I believe he made his U18 debut at 14 a few years ago.

Brilliant cross from Missin on the left, Scanlon's open header goes wide. Haven't been impressed with Missin whenever I've seen him before but he's been a bit better today.
