Well done Harry
Being one of the best and being pretty good are different though. You still have to be a pretty good team to make it all the way to a CL final and then "fluke" it. We haven't been anywhere near good enough for at least a decade
It is annoying how we didn't win a couple more with Ferguson though, fluked or otherwise
Pathetic mentality over here. I am honestly baffled how some of you can go through your daily lives without crying given what you deem an insult. If you feel strongly enough to boo or insult someone you've never actually met in real life, because they aren't good enough in a sporting sense, then you need help in my opinion. If you boo or insult someone, again who you haven't met, who has have actually caused physical or sexual harm to someone then I will join in, even if they are our highest appearance maker or an excellent young player who knows where the goal is.
Harry Maguire isn't good enough to play for us imo but I have no malice towards the man. He's from Sheffield, probably grew up not liking us as a proud Yorkshireman would. He's shown nothing but respect to the club and has repeated how proud he was to be our captain and how proud he is to play for us.
Top level footballers are paid a fortune and have a life that millions would kill for, however, I can't think of many other platforms that can be more humiliating and hurtful. Being ridiculed 24/7 by fans of the club you play for aswell as the masses must be take its toll.
Ooh you're hardPathetic mentality over here. I am honestly baffled how some of you can go through your daily lives without crying given what you deem an insult.
Yep. It's a perfectly reasonable non-violent and non-abusive form of showing disapproval. Think some people just love to try to come across as angelic types who'll defend anyones honour to make themselves look good. Some perspective is needed me thinksSome of you are taking this booing lark way too seriously.
No, I am just not some Maguire arse-licker writing essays defending this fraud while pretending I don't rate him.Ooh you're hard
Are you calling me a Maguire arse licker? I've said I don't think he's good enough for the club but doesn't deserve the torrent of abuse he gets. Sort your head out lad.No, I am just not some Maguire arse-licker writing essays defending this fraud while pretending I don't rate him.
He doesn't get a torrent of abuse though. It's just fair criticism because he's shit. Are you calling me a Maguire arse licker? I've said I don't think he's good enough for the club but doesn't deserve the torrent of abuse he gets. Sort your head out lad.
So the boo actually helps the team by letting him know the fans dont want him anymore.I've never and will never boo a player of my team, I don't see what's to gain from it but I also believe you pay your money your entitled to your opinion wven if thats booing your own player although i disagree with it.
However it's very toxic now for Harry and imo he needs to leave united for himself to progress his career. It is clear for all to see he's finished in a united shirt. Its time to part ways and everyone to move on
Didn't know players could just pick and choose whether they play or not. We all know hes not good enough. The managers need to deal with it. He's a professional footballer ffs, he's not going to hand in a transfer request citing that he doesn't feel worthy enough. He doesn't get a torrent of abuse though. It's just fair criticism because he's shit.
Your attitude and similar is what has allowed him to stay deluded for so long he somehow thinks he can fight for his spot because that idiot Southgate keeps picking him to play the Luxembourgs of this world (which also cost England in the WC).
Your taking what I said and stretched out what I said to suit your outlook. So the boo actually helps the team by letting him know the fans dont want him anymore.
I hold a belief that for support and cheer to meant something it has to be earnt with the risk of jeers.
It's the always clap and support the players at all cost mentality has made our player weak post SAF. We used to have hairdryer now player like Maguire can chat shit as team captain, nothing to prove, while playing like a championship Charlie Chaplin.
Stop being so precious. We're after all football fans.
If Harry works at Starbucks would you cut him some slack and tip him if he kept on getting your order wrong?
Also @CantonagotmehereYeah, but I said that although I personally wouldn't boo him, I understand why others might. I think the whole booing thing has been wildly blown out of proportion, but some of the abuse directed at Maguire has been ridiculous, on a whole.
If there's a player that knows he's not wanted, then it's definitely Maguire. I think the criticism and people saying they want him gone is fair game, but some of the vitorial has been distasteful, to say the least. As I said, I don't like the bloke and want him gone, but it's the personal abuse that's gone too far.
I'm lost here; what's that got to do with anything?England international.
Oh shut the feck up with that English in Dublin shit.England international being booed in Ireland is hardly shocking. Irish fans taking out their frustrations on being done over by the club on an easy target. He doesn’t help himself though to be honest.
Open your history books and learn, a lot of Irish people don't like the English for a lot of valid reasonsI'm lost here; what's that got to do with anything?
Yeah mate I'm Irish. But to insinuate that's why he was booed is fecking ridiculous.Open your history books and learn, a lot of Irish people don't like the English for a lot of valid reasons
oh I forgot how much you love the English national team over there my apologies.Oh shut the feck up with that English in Dublin shit.

Certainly makes it that bit easier for some hating the English especially with a player that plays better for his country. It’s hardly surprising he was booed in Ireland.Yeah mate I'm Irish. But to insinuate that's why he was booed is fecking ridiculous.
You are surely on the wind upCertainly makes it that bit easier for some hating the English especially with a player that plays better for his country. It’s hardly surprising he was booed in Ireland.
England weren't playing todayoh I forgot how much you love the English national team over there my apologies.
I’m not saying the whole crowd was booing him because to be fair the majority seemed to drown out the boos. You are surely on the wind up
Get a fecking grip. So Irish fans paid to go watch the club they support - an English team - to boo an English player, because he's English. But, somehow he was literally the only English player booed out of 4 or 5.Certainly makes it that bit easier for some hating the English especially with a player that plays better for his country. It’s hardly surprising he was booed in Ireland.
Same. As quickly as possible and as far away as possible from Manchester United and all this pathetic fishing for sympathy every time someone says boo to him.Booing is pathetic.
I feel bad for Maguire and I hope he salvages his career.
The furore about him being booed is ludicrous. Players on the continent get it so much worse.Same. As quickly as possible and as far away as possible from Manchester United and all this pathetic fishing for sympathy every time someone says boo to him.
Maybe I’m wrong, it has been known, and if I am then I apologise. Just seems to be a lot of hatred aimed at the English national team from Irish fans and I could have put two and two together and made five. Like I mentioned the fact he plays better for England than Utd doesn’t help his cause.Get a fecking grip. So Irish fans paid to go watch the club they support - an English team - to boo an English player, because he's English. But, somehow he was literally the only English player booed out of 4 or 5.
Or, was it a case that it was a very specific player that was booed; a player that was also booed in the USA? So, basically nothing to do with history/politics.
Of course you're wrong. He was booed in the USA too. A hell of a-lot of fans are totally fed up with him and want to show that they want him to feck off. That's all it's about.Maybe I’m wrong, it has been known, and if I am then I apologise. Fair enough. I’m fed up with him too for the record.Of course you're wrong. He was booed in the USA too. A hell of a-lot of fans are totally fed up with him and want to show that they want him to feck off. That's all it's about.
