So yet another one unwanted by the CAF then
I am French and follow closesly french players whenever they are and I can say that at right back Wan Bissaka is a better player.

Pavard is a central defender that has been player by Deschamps as a RB because Deschamps loves to play 4 (or even 6) at the back and leave the forward do their thing, so he absolutely needed one very defensive RB (knowing that except Varane he had no real defensive safety).

Then Pavard won the WC and went to Bayern and has been also played RB to give a balance to their team with Davies really high on the pitch.

But, even if he was ok for the first season, Pavard is severely criticised for his behavior as well his qualities.

So I am sorry, but if we have 30M to spend, it's absolutely not on him.

What could be a loan fee in this instance, 1m?
If he is a number one at Bayer, it could be fantastic experience for him
Bendoni hinted at this deal potentially being a permanent one in his first Tweet before deleting it, so that's the most likely scenario here.

Bit bizarre for all parties when Hradecky still has 3 years on the contract.

It was in todays "Gossip" section - no idea if it's reliable or not though
The source is Diario Sport (Tier 4) from Spain, who tend to be unreliable, so this shouldn't be taken seriously. What makes this more telling is that Atleti Universe, which is one of the better aggregators out there, hasn't even covered this Sport report.

Don't take this seriously at this time.

I'm actually surprised there are no teams from top leagues interested in him. I mean he's a Brazilian international after all.

I thought we could get 20-25M for him but it seems we'll have to settle for 15M.

Were you impressed when he wins his 1 v 1 battles consistently up against the best left wingers in the league? Matoma at Brighton had right backs scrambling last year but AWB won his battles almost every time. That, to me, is very impressive.
That was always there so that's not what I'm talking about and no it isn't enough to be first choice at a club like United.

I'm talking about his supposed improvements to his game which to me were marginal. The old problems were all still there but I've spoken at length about that, been repeatedly misinterpreted and beside this isn't the thread for this discussion.

The fee isn't actually coming from Kicker's own info. In their article, they cite Czech media as the source of the figure. We'll see if it truly is that much, but that'll be a solid fee with, hopefully, a solid sell-on percentage.

Pretty good deal overall, really. Has United's transfer team finally caught up to the 21st century? :annoyed:

All 3 clubs will have made wildly better offers than Bayern.

Not like they can compete on signing on fee and wages when they're shelling out £90m for a 30 year old.

Course Plettenberg quotes the lowest possible fee he can muster.
It makes sense to me. His info's coming from a German source, whereas the 9/10 million Euro figures are coming from Kovar's camp, who are more closely tied to United than Leverkusen. The German sources have always reported fees that paint them in a more favourable light.

EDIT: Another German journalist reporting the transfer (Tier 2)

If permanent, we should request at least 5m
The fee is €9m (£7.8m) with a buy back option the fee obviously includes add ons but again sold for net Profit which means we can increase our Transfer budget by £70/80m with current departures

Surprised Kovars gone on a permanent deal but at least we are covering ourselves with buy back clauses and first refusals etc. for once.

He was good enough to be 3rd choice at least. Maybe even 2nd choice. Can't begrudge him wanting regular game time, though.

Shame to see Kovar go - was hoping he'd stay as #2 - but understandable decision at his age.

Decent enough fee for our recent standards. Happy with the buyback option. Hopefully there's also a possible sell on clause as well?

That’s because for the last month, we haven’t made any bid. Of course he’d rather join someone who bids for him
Not true…we haven’t bid for Kane and you just know if we don’t his advisors will be told to check our position on him should he stay or should he say no to a Bayern move. We need him and likewise right now he needs a top PL club interested…

We are paying Leverkusen to take Kovar .. and they have first dibs on Hojlund as a part of this deal.
