Saudi clubs need to get in as well. They even bid for Telles, and Fred is a much better option.

I could see him in a Fenerbache shirt for some reason. Not sure why. This one is definitely happening.

At this stage of his career Saudi would be a much better option than Turkey or what ever they call themselves nowadays

I'd carry him to turkey, if it meant we signed a better replacement like amrabat.

Love him as a personality, but nowhere near good enough for us. Should have been sold YEARS ago.

He cost around 50m five years ago, I certainly expected much much better than what we got.

He's an honest trier who is capable of good moments and even good games, but you can never fully trust him. He can be MOTM on the wednesday and then at the weekend look like he's never played football before. You're never going to win the big trophies with him playing 40-50 games a season.

Getting a decent fee for him now is good business and you have to say so far this has been one of our most professional transfer windows in fecking years.

The calibre of clubs that came in for him despite him being available for a modest fee tells you all you need to know about whether he was good enough to have a place in the squad

Was never good enough and a failed transfer

The amount of games he got here suggests that he was better than some of the other midfielders we had over that period. I agree he turned out to be below the level we need but he had his uses and, given we’re getting a few quid for him now, it’s not a failed transfer in the grand scheme.

Do Fulham don’t want him anymore? Would like for him to stay in the Prem and return to OT to play against us
Pretty sure they do but the Khan family seem to be determined to try and piss off Marco Silva as much as possible. Last summer he nearly walked after getting them promoted because they were being so tight in the transfer market before they finally opened up the purse strings in the last couple of weeks. This summer he has again asked for multiple targets and nothing much is happening, he just gave an interview where he mentioned they have shipped 7 players out and brought 2 in and something needs to be done soon. Considering he turned down big money from Saudi to stick with Fulham they are playing with fire not getting him his targets so hopefully that will prompt a bid closer to our valuation of 20M to appease him and the Fulham fans who are getting very frustrated at the lack of movement.

Interesting to note how ruthless the current management has been on the spine of the Ole team. We're now rid of De Gea, MgChoir, Fred, McTominay (almost), plus a few sales of squad members. So refreshing!

Gonna miss Fred. Still feel he had a place in the squad.
I'm not. He has earned lots of money and coverage playing for Man Utd. He hasn't been responsible enough when he plays, is incredibly inconsistent, and he has represented a culture of apathy at United. He has to go if we are to progress. He's had plenty of time to make his case for staying.

I think it's definitely an okay fee for him. He's 30 and a work horse midfielder. I think many teams would be a bit wary of that, but in Turkey and Saudi it probably won't matter. I think we would have attracted a larger bid if he had age on his side.

If we had an abundance of choices in midfield and he was still getting games then I'd agree but we've been barren in midfield quality wise for his entire tenure. If you look at his competition they all had major flaws whether it was coming towards the end of their career, consistency issues or injury issues. He played more out of necessity rather than being the ideal player for the club.

He never looked like a £50m player and at no point were we ever going to challenge for serious trophies with him playing week in week out so it's hard for me to call him anything but a flop.

Good luck to him but I won’t miss him.
Why are so many people saying this as if they're going to be judged for just saying something nice? You don't need to balance out saying something positive every time.

A very erratic player with as many highs as lows. Probably more lows...

Good luck in Turkey, pastor!

Huh? I mean sometimes players leave who I do miss. If we had sold Rashford I would be on record posting how much I would miss him. But not with Fred.
