Doubt we'll be rid of him unfortunately. We wouldn't get much, and finding a replacement forward (who isn't someone shit like Weghorst) for a reasonable fee at this stage is asking a lot

Can't see ETH sanctioning this without having a replacement, which I don't think will happen.
Honestly given how unavailable he's been, just replacing him with a loan (and possibly looking at a more permanent remplacement in January) could be enough.
I'm of the opinion we probably need a body even if Martial stays and/or that ETH plan B doesn't rely on him anyway (Rashford - Sancho... Greenwood ?).

Depends on the extent of the scouting they did prior to the Højland signing I suppose
If Hojlund is the best they could come up for 70m, most likely not much hope.

Anyway, I'm expecting WHU wanting to only pay part of AM massive wage.

I suspect it would involve little to no fee with West Ham asking us to subsidize his wages ,basically pay them to take him off our hands. Would be tempting but nothing going to happen here.

Martial's barely on the pitch, as discussed elsewhere - his replacement might as well as be a 'punt' player from smaller league able to interchange with Rash and #17 . Orban's been mentioned and apparently available for 30m euro or less, which might be one option...

I have a sneaky feeling it’ll be neymar on loan
It can’t be. ETH benched Rashford for being 1 minute late. What sanctions would he impose on Neymar for missing games to attend sister’s birthday?

If he goes, I think we all know who his replacement will be.
Exactly. We have Sancho as a false 9, we have Garnacho allowing Rashford to move up front and then we have the obvious one you mention.

None of these options are ideal, ones been poor in his time here, Rashford isnt really a striker and thern a whole host of positive negative reasons on the last.......but we only have one striking position and we have a top class proper young striker we have paid a big fee to play there.

Considering what we had last season and the number of games Martial misses and how consistently when he has been fit his performaces over his time here have rarely set the world alight.......absolutely no reason to keep him.

We are trying to clear out deadwood, and some of them have been deadwood for some time. There are quite a few Mourinho and Ole duds we look to be moving on, but Martial has been bar one season deadwood for some time and he is a Van Gaal signing, how has he lasted that long....only JOnes was more surprising to last so long.

I really dont care what we get for him, jsut be good to get his wages off the books, he offers nothing if he cant stay fit and he has offered little when he has been

If we get offered any deal which has FFP benefits we should take it, don’t worry about a replacement just get rid.

Won't be fully fit and first-team match-sharp (reserve games will obviously feature him, subject to staying) until start of November, I'd guess.

I’m really starting to like West Ham, and I always said Moyesy was a good manager, should have been given more time! :wenger:
We have to pay Harry Maguire to leave as west ham can't pay his wages, and martial is on more than maguire. We're stuck with him till June 30th

what do people think we are missing if he goes. The three games followed by a month out, 6 games followed by two months out??? Don’t get me wrong he’s not going due to wages. I just don’t think him going means we are suddenly light up front. Yes martial might play in 15 games but it’s not like you can rely on that or how long he will be able to play

He wouldn't be missed — how many games do people honesty reckon he will be available for, let alone play this season? I loved him as a player when he first joined but he has shown himself to be completely unreliable. A backup first and foremost had to be available, by definition.

If, and that's a huge if, he goes..could Pellistri fit in there for the season? Even if he could cover that, EtH doesn't seem to trust him yet.

If Arsenal and City pay West Ham to take away our 2 shite players and our crok of a striker we might just have pulled off a bigger scam than Chelsea did with Mount and Havertz.

I don't expect it to happen though.

I can't see us getting a fee for him. As talented as he is, he didn't play last season and he had an awful season before that.
Its better to keep him than pay him to leave at this point. As long as we don't extend his contract if he goes through a purple patch.

Define 'purple patch'.

In Martial's case, is the criteria based on 'availability' or goal contributions?

I'd say a mix of both. What if he stays fit most of the season and scores 15 goals in the league?
15 goals? Hey now.... you are expecting water to turn into wine next? ;)

Antoh has only scored more than 12 goals a season TWICE in his 8 years career. I will be happy if he scored 8-10 goals this season and is available for 30 matches.

The phrase 'he's almost like a new signing' will be heard after each goal he scores.

Bin him, we really don’t even need to replace him with a transfer in. Hugill or some other kid should get the spot.

I don't think he has the talent anymore because all those injuries simply overpower him

that blistering pace he had, the quickness, the lethal dribble, that 1v1 ability, the ball control - all those are long gone

The only thing he has and that remains is the hold of the ball. The problem is - when he gets behind him a little bit of contact from the opposition defender him and we are fecked.
