Agree, although Antony’s general passing is still so poor it drives me crazy. But at least he looks up for it and has had very quality touches
Poor in what sense? It may be better weighted at times, but statistically there are almost no wingers that lose the ball less than he does.

This has disappointed me. We look exactly like last season, making it up as we go along. It feels disjointed and all a bit desperate at times.
Nail on head. Coming into this season I was hoping to see patterns on how we progress the ball from out the back. Attacking patterns to open teams up. But it's more of the same and perhaps somehow worse than last season so far.

I don't really get what Eth is building so far when it comes to how this team should play. We are neither a proper pressing team, nor a mid or low block. We are a counter attacking team who somehow are caught between trying to counter press and sit back. If Eth cannot get us to play cohesively then we might as well give up and pack up the club as I am not sure who else is out there who can improve us.

We’ve not been terrible, just very lethargic, wolves are happy to sit and wait for us to mess up

The people in here predicting we would win the league this season must be smoking some real good shit.

A real worry is ETH trying to play Mount and Bruno together, I tried to get on board the Mount is an 8 but Mount looks lost and Bruno looks like his space is being taken by Mount, they both seem to be nullifying each other. The two of them are also nowhere to be seen whilst the last man Casemiro has three midfielders running at him - against Arsenal, City, Liverpool etc we’ll get smashsed. I hate McTominay as a player but I’d take him coming on right now.

We need Amrabat asap and it shows even against weak opposition unless we are counter attack fc we lack any real control of the game. One of Bruno or Mount will need to make way in my opinion, and my choice will always be Mount. Think with a solid two in midfield we will transform more than a with a change of keeper.
    Mount over Bruno? Absolutely not!

This performance from the United lads isn't really acceptable for the first game of the season.

Maguire and Henderson moaning together. Tells its own story.

    Thank heavens Martinez is off,

he has had a shocker and was for sure a walking red card.

Why is Martinez off? Is he injured?

Thus is much fairer assessment Rashford has genuine elite pace, Garnaucho and Antony do not and you need someone like Sancho against a low block?
I would bring on Pellistri or Sancho. Either way I think Garnacho coming off is a necessity.

Is it really “interesting” that Lindelof is preferred to Maguire, sky? Or does ten hag actually want to win the game?

We need a playmaker in this squad. The entire buildup is so predictable, ball control is poor, and the hope of scoring relies on either a set piece (that isn't converted, like in the 2022/23 season - 20th in the table) or a quick counterattack.

I hope we improve in the second half and particularly when playing against a team that lost 19 times in the PL last season and has earned £40 million in the transfer window!

And it's the dumbest use of him, he literally had two players in Madrid taking the ball off him in deeper areas all the time. There was a reason for that, he's very weak being the DLP in a top team.
Yep, we're asking a lot from him defensively and too much from him on the ball.

Mount and Bruno are good players in their own right but neither are controllers.

Garnacho staying on is dodgy management to be honest. What message does that send when you let rashford and Garnacho carry on as before?

Martinez has been really bad. So no surprise with that change. Don't know what's up with Martinez
