Our attack is bobbins, Antony is easy to martial and predict his tendencies, Garnacho just isn't a starter at the moment, and Rashford can't play as a lone striker. Add to that a wasteful and kinda weak midfield and we look pretty easy to set up and play against. Really shit start to the season.

If Martial was fit I'd have had him up front and Rashford left. Eriksen must be ahead of Mount. And Antony must be dropped now.

Garbage. We look so bad, I’m not sure Højlund coming in will solve the main problem, we’ve zero control in midfield and are getting cut open far too easily. We need a midfielder, simple as.

Meh if someone just puts the damn chances away we should've been up 2-0 in that first half before spurs had the double woodwork moment. Get to that point and pretty sure we would've found it easier to control the game and continue creating chances.

Should have been 3 up at half time, did not come back out of the dressing room. Rashford out of sorts, Antony makes Dan James look like Robben and it turns out Fred was our best midfielder.

Rashford was offside and they hit the woodwork twice, so we should've been one up at best. Doesn't really matter though when we as usual make the opposition look like contenders for the treble in the 2nd half.

After two matches none of our strikers and midfielders have a goal or an assist, and OG seems to have signed for Spurs.

Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford are supposed to be the first two players we look to in matches like this. The fact that they both crumble mentally in different ways will either cease happening or Ten Hag will not succeed here. Rashford completely disengages from the match, and Bruno loses his composure and plays frantic football. This is the problem that needs to be fixed before we can talk about anyone else. What separates us from three clubs that have been in the title race over the past 2-3 seasons is they keep their structure when they have strong periods in the match and don't score. They can recover when the eb and flow of the game is tilting against them. Fernandes and Rashford are supposed to be our lightening rods in these situations, and it's at best a 50/50 proposition whether they'll stand up and counted for or go in the tank. When they go in the tank, everyone else does as well.

We lost this match because of our mentality point blank. We played very well in spurts and just wilted mentally for a period and the just vanished as soon as turned up the pressure a little bit.

We saw the exact theme in last seasons first 2 matches.

No physicality, no positioning sense, these players are not cut out to play modern football, which requires techincal abilities to “keep” the ball.

And sadly, Fernandes is not at all suited to play this style. Feel for Ten hag really, but sure he’ll revert back to our old style sooner rather than later.

Go back to counter attacking, this team has just one style of play.

We just weren’t dominated though were we. Spurs got gifted two goals. We missed big chances and denied a clear penalty. Aside from that it was fairly even.

We were okay for about 35 minutes or so.. the yellows weirdly rattled us. Missed a few sitters.

Exactly. Goals change games. We rarely seem to score in our key moments in these big away games. If we do, we control and shape the game. But we don't, then when the home side inevitably stirs into life we don't have the players to change the flow of the game and then we're one or two down with an intense crowd and we fall apart. Same old story.

Get a couple of cold finishers in this side ASAP.

Well that was just plain terrible. In the 2nd half it was a shambles and we could be playing all week and not score.
Our tactics toward the end was just to lump the ball with no structure, idea or pattern.
And we had no midfield again.
