This is ridiculous! I think getting a player like this in is a recipe for disaster. He’s such a mess of a player that he might cause more problems than he fixes. Do we not have proper scouts anymore to identify players?
We do, they just aren't used.

He's going to shock a lot of you. Didn't watch him at Chelsea but did with BHA. He's brilliant for ETHs system and once Hojlund joins it's going to be an effective combo.
I can see what’s happened here.

I think everyone remembers him from his BHA days, he looked pretty damn good. Just like most players they have. He wouldn´t be the first player to look out of his depths as soon as they leave an enviroment that work like a charm for them.

I'm not, I'm just further elaborating on your point. We don't even have a system at the moment.
I believe we have a system. I just don’t believe we have the right players for that system. Not yet anyway.

Excuse me? I have watched Fernandez play many times. Can you not read? Also, where did I say that I want him to start for the next 3 months? Why are you making things up?

I think you need to understand what was wrong with your post.
"Multiple occasions for academy". I rest my case.

We don't even though half we're bought by ETH, and the rest who stayed are the ones he thinks fits in? Come on man.

We're not much better off than Chelsea in terms of playing style and consistency.
And yet we finished third and got to two cup finals and they finished 12th. Or a you referring to the three games this season because that will be a very early conclusion to draw.

I'm struggling to see what has changed on the pitch.
I guess for instance a home record of not losing since Brighton last year, getting 3rd while playing a lot better, with more structure and idea, never happened.
There are still some problems of course but saying we're the same as during Ole tenure and thre's no improvement is just. Well strange.

I'm referring to the idea that we don't have a working system for him to play in. He's going to have to come out of that shell and be individually brilliant when the rest of the team are crap and he hasn't shown that he can do that at Chelsea.

Seriously underwhelming.
Considering we have lost our first choice LB for a significant portion of the season, plus his back up, what exactly are you expecting?

This late in the window, due to unforeseen circumstances, getting him on loan is a really good deal.

I guess there's no pleasing some people though.

We do have a working system. You watch the Nottingham game and think this team are just winging it? Do you think the Brighton team he excelled at was as good as the United of last season or the current United team.

We don't have a working system in my opinion. We are most definitely winging it most of the time and most of our goals still come from Rashfords pace on the counter. Yes there is some attempt to build up sometimes but it's certainly not Brighton or Man City.

I think the key thing to understand here is that we are not Brighton. Playing good for a Brighton is different to playing good for Man Utd or Chelsea.

I think you feel if a team isn't playing City style football then the team doesn't have a working system. When you have pace up front you utilize it, its part of the working system. And yes playing well for Brighton isn't the same as doing it for United or Chelsea but he did show at Brighton the talent to do so.
And you have to understand the sort of mess Chelsea were last season. With an owner playing real life FM. A dressing room which literally couldn't contain the number of players with a lot of them knowing they wouldn't be there after the season and down tooling, three separate managers in one season. Its difficult to judge a player in such circumstance. Plus it's only going to be a loan deal to coveer for our injuries so we can judge him here ourselves.

And why don't you remember, borthwick-jackson, Paddy McNair, Donald Love, Guillermo Varela?
Because they were also given their chances by Louis van Gaal before they fell flat on their faces. Ajax and Barcelona also treat their own kids in the same manner by providing them enough playing time before a final decision is made as to whether they are worth keeping or to be sold elsewhere.

Between consistently wrapping our kids in bubble bags (the Ten Hag way) and throwing them in the deep end (the Van Gaal old-fashioned way), I still prefer the old-fashioned way. The only way you know what a player is capable of is by seeing what he does during matches at senior level. You either swim or drown; it's just that simple.

Van Gaal threw them in the deep end cause we didnt have other players and were thin, that goes for Rashford too, there wasnt any plan to it. ETH gave Garnacho a chance and will give Mainoo and Amad too, also Pellistri although tbh he should be given more chance.
Fernandez should be tried too and given chance but not as a starter now we lack options at LB and we'll have games every 3 days.

If it can be considered a system, I go back to my point that it's not one that Cuccurella is good at.

Also let's face it, our dressing room isn't much better than Chelsea in terms of player mentality. We need players who can rise above the crap.

But yeah I guess a loan is fine. One thing I note about his general play though, is that when he is out of defensive position, he is SERIOUSLY out of position.

if he turns up, scores 7-10 goals, makes 20 odd assists and shores up our defence, then it would probably count as a successful loan.

This. Still remembered he terrorized us when we played Brighton. All of Chelsea players were trash last season so I still think there is some player inside of him. From what I remember he was amazing bombing forward (which we are in desperate need since our attack suck balls). Also him bombing forward will open more space for Rashford.

Nah. He should lead us to CL trophy for this loan to be considered a success.
