With all the positivity around selling the club, having Arab money with talks of Kane and Rice, honestly I can remember feeling this shit about a transfer window. We arent now talking about being better, we are struggling to maintain where we were last season...

Aren't we still 3rd top spenders in the league? Arsenal just ahead.

Without basically having to sell anyone.

I’ve said it before but this is eerily similar to Mourinho’s last few months.
An absolute shambles of a transfer window and then poor performances kick in.
How long before people start turning on EtH when the results start going downhill.

Here we go with the bollocks about wasting money on mount. Mount was a key target, first choice in midfield. Wanted by Liverpool and Arsenal let alone us. He was not a waste, he's barely been here a minute fecksake.
I’m not having a go at Mount. He’s a good player at a good price. But we clearly have other priorities that need fixing first.

While I think City and Chelsea’s selling is dodgy as feck, they do manage to sell their academy players for solid amounts. As well as first team players…

We are either incapable or unwilling for some reason, neither being a good sign.

So much clickbait nonsense out there these days.

Most of it tends to be about United because a lot of our fans will react to just about anything negative.

I’ll hold my hand up. Totally fell for that and and lost it at the club. So much BS out there it’s hard not to get misled at times.

Hopefully what Fab is saying is correct and we made no such ridiculous loan offer.

And we manage to get Amrabat over the line smoothly.

I get that people want to see progress happening faster but I actually think we've been tidying up the squad pretty quickly given how bad the mismanagement has been. Yes, people want to see Maguire, Martial and McTominay gone but realistically it was always going to take 2-3 years to move everyone on. Along the way, we will also get some transfers wrong or miss out on a target.

Since Ten Hag was appointed we have massively reduced the bloated squad and cut the wage bill. I think we could have sold or released some 15+ players this window but it was always optimistic.

Regardless, in the last 12 months, the following have been sold or released.

De Gea
Henderson
Kovar
Grant

Williams
Laird
Telles
Jones
Tuanzebe

Fred
Mata
Pogba
Lingard
Elanag
Iqbal
Garner
Savage
Pereira
Chong
Matic

Ronaldo
Cavani

That is 22 players. Even if you exclude some of the younger players there are at least 12-13 senior first-team players.

The list of must-sell players is significantly shorter than it has been for years and even then the players below are still somewhat useful in a pinch.

Maguire
McTominay
Bailly - probably going this window
Van de Beek
Martial

Not really
It’s on poor transfers selected by Eric and previous managers
They’ve given money to spend
Why on earth are you defending the owners? They have done nothing good for this club, and the money spent on transfers is entirely generated by the club. They haven’t given a single cent to spend.

Haha cheers to another 10 of the Glazers then!

FFS
The Glazers are useless tossers for a number of reasons. But the fact is we have spent huge sums of money over the years, and it has largely been wasted by numerous managers.

Of course it's on the Glazers. Yes we spent money but we have been poor at renewing sponsors and careless with debt management which have compounded our FFP issues.

Ten hag overpaid for one player, the rest are fine.

Huge sums of the clubs money, not the Glazers. Also its
Been wasted because we have no football structure in place to ensure continuity from one manager to another. A lack of foresight and planning as well as ambition have seen this club become a footballing zombie under he Glazers.

The loan offer isn't embarrassing at all. About time we gave Italian clubs a taste of their own medicine.

And whose fault is it for failing to hire the right football people to put a proper structure in place instead of giving managers free reign over transfers?

Yes but for some reason Ten Hag will get a pass for spending a lot of money on some questionable signings and the blame will go to Murtagh and co when we scramble around looking for end of window bargains we desperately need

Murtough deserves a lot of blame for being a complete non entity. All he seems to do is negotiate bad deals for players

Because posts like yours don’t make sense we spent more than almost every single club on the planet
Klopp turned Liverpool into a monster with less

I want rid but they have given us funds, having different owners wouldnt if stopped eth buying Antony for 80m

Yes it would've, because our transfer strategy under serious owners wouldn't be "hand the manager a blank check and inshallah"
