least we get the hardest match of the group stage out of the way when we are in shambles. Would hate for us to lose a winnable game right now in the group and need to win at bayern later on.

Football is a simple game. Twenty-two men chase a ball for 90 minutes and at the end, the Germans always win.
Coaching Bayern is a simple job. 24 world class players compete for 11 spots and at the end, Müller always plays.

We'll do well not to rival Arsenals performances against them under Wenger.
That reminds me. I've got an Arsenal mate that stopped watching football from 2018 on grounds of their being a a lack of quality and soul in European football, he claimed the defenders these days are trash, midfielders lack imagination, average offensive players, too much diving, cheating and the sport as a whole has gotten predictable. He had so much conviction, that he starting watching NBA from 2018. I'm not sure why, he's had a change of tune and returned to watching football since January. It's this Arsenal fan that invited me to his house to watch it with him.

I don't think Bambi (Musiala) will start. He got 30 mins vs leverkusen after an injury, think he will get 30 mins again today replacing Müller who takes that #10 role. Sané however has become what rashford should become. A previously egotistical offensive player who now tracks back and helps with press.
Sane has started this season strongly and looks like it's all finally come together for him. Might be a matter of the right coach.

I hope Musiaia starts, I think a player of his individual brilliance would bring an interesting dynamic to this game.

Unfortunately, I won't get the opportunity to see a clash between Bissaka and Gnabry. Felt it was most entertaining seeing the battles of Bissaka against Mbappe, Neymar etc.

Looking forward to seeing how Bruno deals with Kimmich and Goretzka.

Looking forward to seeing the physical battle between Upamecano and Hojlund.

And which player will show more exuberance between Sane and Rashford.

Would love to see both sides put in a performance befitting of Europe's premier competition.

    I'm excited

Should be true, but Kovac and Hansi would disagree. And look where that got them. Raumdeuter should always play.

Edit: talking about hansi with dfb

From the stand out keeper in last seasons champions league to a dodgy keeper 5 games into his United career?
The stand out keeper last season (only one great season) hasn't exactly stood out so far this season. I have high hopes for the man, but his form to date has not stood out, at least not in a good way.

    Absolutely Yes.
What's the point in being a United Fan if you couldn't get you exicted anymore for an UCL Tie away to Bayern?
There is no point. To anything. Or so I once felt (four days ago) but now I don’t see why we can’t win tonight! 2-1 to us.

I have a very odd feeling about this game. I honestly think we will play lights out and come away with a win. We are do a good performance and if we get an early goal... it may just be enough to light our fire and get us playing well.

    Glazers out!

Think I’d like us to show a bit of professionalism and try and sit back to hit them on the counter, nobody is expecting us to batter Bayern Munich in Germany.. just don’t get embarrassed and hope to nick one

McT shouldn’t be anywhere near the starting eleven after his disappearing act against Brighton.

Onana, Dalot, Lindelof, Martinez, Reguilon, Case, Eriksen, Pellistri, Bruno, Rashford, Højlund.

    Right then.
Let us stuff these Weißwurst gobbling hops farmers. Let us drag down their Lederhosen and expose their Bundesliga micropenises.
Got my last years oktoberfest jersey on, ready for some wurst.

I think people wanting to go into this game with a midfield of Casemiro and Erikson need their head examining.

We need some energy in there. Would even prefer Hannibal plays a deeper role.

Do we definitely have 11 bodies to actually take part (I was going to use the word "compete" but that feels like the wrong verb) in this match?

Not fully convinced their won't be a cardboard cut-out in one of the positions... though I guess if Antony Martial is starting...

My only issue is we aren't as solid as we were last year against Barca defensively. We are much more vulnerable due to Casemiro being a step slower and Licha not quite being the same force as he was pre-injury so far, so I fear we'll concede chances.
I’m not writing the Casemiro obituary that others are personally. I think much of it is in people’s minds, they wouldn’t be saying this if he was 28. It’s that once you reach 30, you’re a game away from being diagnosed as in decline. I think much of his issues have been tactical, he’s been alone, but I still see him win the ball plenty this season and he’s perhaps still warming up.

Martinez I agree, although these occasions have a way of bringing people up a level. Unless we think he’s finished too! I’m optimistic, cautiously. I definitely wouldn’t be surprised if we turned them over. Harry Kane has never scared me and I think we can cause them problems.
