Would you take Rangnick back (As a DOF and NOT a manager)?

Title is self-explained. We had the hottest prospect in the DOF field of Europe, shoved him into an interim manager role with power, then labelled him as a fraud because he was not a good manager.

And after 1 year, people are still scratching their heads about our football structure, the role of Murtough, why our scouts didn’t support us with good names enough…etc.

Question is would you give him the proverbial sword to chop every dissenters and do you have the stomach for the purge and whatever follows?

Purge the likes of Jones, Fletcher, Murtough etc. Sell the likes of Rashford, Bruno, Casemiro, and field a hungry youngster who's probably making all kinds of error and lead us to bottom table wilderness for 5 years IF and a big IF he gets it right than maybe... just maybe after 5 years we can start out ground zero of rebuilding the team with a modern manager.

What exactly has he done to be someone we should consider bringing back? How is it determined he is/was the hottest DOF prospect?

Yes.

But won't have the desired effect though, the slow coaches above him will mould the situation and continue to make everything a mess.

Once Qatari guys come in, that's when he should come back and with a vengeance to push the club forward and make them fit for purpose in life 21st Century.

He is so damn good that his last DOF job was in Russia I guess it's just not United but the whole footballing world who are missing out on his Genius .

We need economic sound owners, they need to show who is boss and to care about onfield success. This would send a signal to the players noone is above the cause. Today, players can read the desperation and exploit it. They know if they suck Noone will buy and they get to stay for their PayDay. It's a vicious cycle that needs to break.

Maybe? At least he knows how the club works and can save some time getting up to speed.

Once we have new owners and structure and they want to do it - I would support that decision. With the current regime - no, as I doubt any that kind of change would make a difference. Changes must start from the top.

Pardon, what?
The man is 65 years old and basically retired. Nothing hot nor prospective about Rangnick.

He’s done nothing in world football to make me think he would be successful.

Even his RB Leipzig players he keeps getting credit for are someone else’s success. Biggest myth in football this guy.

Problem is, most DOF only work at smaller clubs trying to break into the big time.

We heard about Liverpool and Cities DOF because they set into motion a big step up from competitiveness to dominance. We don't hear so much about Bayern's, Barcelona's, Madrid's etc.

You always hear about Brighton sized clubs DOF. I'm not sure it can be a success at a large club outside of making sure you don't make huge mistakes.

I have to dissagree here.
We hear about them as a club, I couldn't tell you who the DOF is and they're always good at business regardless of who the person is.

That's kinda what I meant. We hear about their good transfers but I don't ever hear names.

Can someone explain how was he the hottest prospect in DOF in Europe?

No for multiple reasons. He was never a greta manager, good DOF but he's not a young man. We'd need a top DOF who's going to be around for many years.

Plus I think he burned all his bridges with the club 2 years ago.

Why are you purging Jones, he’s not an employee?

I'd prefer Solskjaer+McKenna again as DOF's / recruitment specialists. Maybe their management and coaching style overall wasn't as good as Ten Hag or Mourinho for instance, but their signings were a level above anything else post-Fergie. Even their punt youth signings have been relative successes (Dan James sold for a profit and that sort of thing).

There is absolutely zero chance that this will happen now, of course (you should never go back - similarly with Rangnick, he was a disaster class) and it's probably nonsense anyway but that's my feelings.

Yes, but not we'd need a willing board, new owners and an entire structure around him. Just adding him to the current one would mean either him having too much power or being over ruled by the idiots we have now. What we need is more people with football knowledge across the club, so if anyone gets an idea to make another signing like bringing Ronaldo back was, it wouldn't happen. One person wouldn't change much. I can see us sacking DOFs like we sack managers and starting with another "project" every second or third year again.

Wonderland.

Nope. Most DOF are running a running ship that needs monitoring, and occasional change of direction. Not a full blown mess that is United.

Nothing short of selling every big names indiscriminately to purge all the bad Juju would work.

Me and my friends are convinced there's a burried hyena somewhere at OT.
To answer the initial question, 100%. I would take anyone as long as we have a DoF...

He wouldn’t work at United. Ten Hag didn’t want to know and the higher ups didn’t like his honesty. He’d probably quit or be forced out within a few years.

His answer was to sign Sabitzer...nah, I'm good.

I thought he was the new U-18 coach?

Rangnick could interview him for 30 minutes and find out how and what his ideas are. If you know what you're doing, it's not hard to find out fraud and the real deal.

My point is that he'll be sacking a lot of backroom staff

We have more than one under 18s coach.

If we have given him a job there, it's certainly not in a remotely senior capacity.
