At some point. It can’t be the players. We’ve done WAY better with a worse squad. Our style of play is just non existent or it’s just not a good one. Just why can’t we fecking Attack!

I said many months ago. He is not courageous enough to build a team off Bruno.
Its either him or Bruno leaves in the next few months.
We cannot continue being a transition team. We cannot win anything with such a gameplan.
We will get results here and there but we will not win anything with this players.

It's just like Ole. Terrible coaching masked by some individual brilliance

We pressed well for like 5 minutes and we scored. Who would have thought playing actual football might make you win.

This team just needs a better manager.

The goal was a moment of brilliance but it was deserved since we were pressing them and creating many chances for few minutes before it.

How I wish we could actually play attacking football like this regularly. This team has it in them.

Ten Hag is just ruining the team with his shit tactics and godawful football.

Looks like the Mount and Havertz transfers are literally as bad as each other.

Neither team needed them and hard to see them making a real difference in the long term

It's not - because we had good times under Ole. We have had good results under Ten Hag (last season) but we have not played well in the vast majority of those games. We were more entertaining overall under Ole in the first 18 months or so. I don't remember the last time we were entertaining. Brentford at OT season May 22, under Rangnick is the only one that's stuck in my mind.

Mount hasn't done badly in the past couple of games and hardly deserves to be singled out in a team that's been pretty dire all round

Nothing to do with being singled out.

He's just not a starter and for the money we paid, I'd expect him to be

Nonchalantly scoring the winner...
It’s a tough day for a club with Sir Bobby passing away and games like this - away from home - can be tough at the best of times.

It’s these kind of dogged results that can spur a side on to turn a corner.

Let’s see how he does against City next week, today is not the day to be going in on him.

Wonder why Mount was benched today. Is he incapable of playing 8 without Casemiro? I feel like ETH's destiny lies in his hands

I'll take literally every win at this moment. At least a peaceful night.

Now just win the next CL game before we get thrashed by City.

I feel that he's struggling to motivate the players a bit lately. Seems like a 9 to 5 job for most of the players. The top players are definitely struggling.

Sheffield has lost 7 in 8 before us.
We should be doing much better here they are objectively the worst team in the league.

I want to see a near full team out on the pitch for a few consecutive games before I make a decision. But I’m not impressed with what I’m seeing so far.

The Ralph period is enough to put me off a caretaker situation, but I don’t see Erik turning this around significantly from here. Next weekend could get very ugly.

I don’t see anything other than a very average manager unfortunately.

If you take away the reputation he came with for the type of manager he is and judge him purely on what he’s done with us he’s at best level with Ole.

All the talk about his coaching, style of play and being a modern and attacking manager is all talk that has yet to be backed up.

He’s created a team with no real strengths and quite a few weaknesses. We get by through having better players than 75% of the teams we play.

I’ve been plenty underwhelmed by him this season…

spending What we did on mount…

the insistence on the formation that wasn’t working…

but in his defence, I don’t think enough has been made of the LB issues…

he has lost All three natural LBs, and by losing AWB, he has lost even his emergency 4th choice dalot.

lindelof and Amrabat doing their best like, but it is completely unsettling the whole side.

it probably goes a long way to explaining rashfords form too….

and also squad issues out of his control has seen Bruno play out of position all season too (although that is probably a bit by his own weird design too)

so maybe he deserves to be cut a little bit of slack?…

Yeah, if we ignore the manager he is and what he has accomplished in the past and downplay all of his wins even when he has joined..he’s shit.

Yes they are at the bottom, and Newcastle put 8 past them, but both spurs and city only managed 2-1 as well. They are gameraisers.

I don't give a shit what he has done before United. That's for himself. For United he has been a bang average coach or even less.

Posters like you will be repeating this rubbish even after he’s been here for three years and delivers very little. Eventually you’ll open your eyes.

I can understand all of the whining about our style of play, if it wasn’t for the fact that we’re missing our entire back four!

The defence is the bedrock, the foundation of any team, especially one that, as ETH wants, plays out from the back. The foundation they build gives the midfield more licence and the attackers more freedom to do what they’re best at.

ANY OTHER TEAM missing their entire first choice back four (and especially only having one fit FB) would struggle to play the style of football that ETH wants.

Now I’m not expecting the proverbial switch to flick ‘on’ when Shaw, Martinez, Varane and AWB are back, but that’s a back four that gives you a lot more of a chance to build up play with a solid foundation.

It was obvious last year and is obvious this year that our by far biggest problems are;
1) striker who will score goals
2) playmaker in central midfield who will control the game

Hojlund is the one for future i guess but his idea behind signing Mount doesn't have any logic.

We are still deep in survival mode. Maguire probably played a man-of-match game today.
