If Colby beats Leon, should he not pick a third fight with Usman ?

I feel like Colby beats almost all welterweights, but Usman has fought this guy twice and came out on top with a reasonable distance in performance level.

He could demand a fight with Usman but for the sake of his career, in the case he wins, should he avoid it ?

Aspinall has to be one of the most likeable people in the sport. He's seriously doing this the hard way too. I'd either forgotten or never known that Pav was the back-up fighter for Jones vs Stipe so has presumably been doing a full training camp. Looks like Stipe rejected Pav as an opponent, and I agree with Aspinall that no-one should really blame him at this point of his career. He effectively has one foot in retirement now, and Jones was a legacy fight for him.
Stipe said he was never offered the fight. They didn't even ask him if he wanted to fight any1 else

Usman has lost 3 out of 4 though. He really doesn't deserve a shot.

True but we know the UFC doesn't always do the correct thing as far as the contender's pecking order goes.

He may get the shot if they can't find a bigger name. I'm just bringing this here because I think Colby matches up well with Leon and has a good shot at beating him.

Usman would beat Colby if they fought again. I think the Khamzat showing outlined this guy is far from done, and he just has his number. Can't be out-wrestled by the guy and in a stand-up fight the superior technical ability and power just takes over.

Needs to get back in the win column though. Maybe he can beat Belal's boring ass and remove him from the conversation.

Shavkat is the champion in waiting IMO though - excited to see him in top 5 match-ups soon. Just wish we didn't have to see him put an inevitable beating on the NMF first. :(

Yeah probably.

As far as Shavkat, he really looks like the real deal. Is he big enough for middleweight ? Because without Adesanya I think that belt is going to be changing hands a little bit too often.

This sport is unpredictable though... I never thought anyone could beat Usman and look what happened.

Aspinall. Hoping so anyway.
Yeah. Probably safe money that it won’t be decided by the cards anyway. Aspinall when I’ve seen him has been confident in his striking to stand and bang with anyone….but not sure it’s the best plan here. Might be best to break out his BJJ

Pavlovich vs Aspinall guys, what’s going to happen, who you got?
I can't pick against Pavlovich until I see him lose. I just can't.

Flip a coin though. Aspinall is the real deal, a truly complete fighter.

I think Sergei ends this inside two rounds. (If forced to make a pick)

My head says Aspinall takes him down and gets a TKO with ground and pound or submits him…

Although Pavlovich is a scary guy and the early onslaught is a massive danger. More excited about this one than Jiri against Pereira.

Have we seen him on the mat that much ?

He looks more like a stand up fighter. His fights in the UFC hasn't gone past two rounds I think.
I haven’t….we were supposed to see his TDD against Blaydes, but Blaydes decided for some reason now to try and wrestle. Thought you might have known more than me

Wiki says he’s been wrestling from the age of 5  Also reckons he has the longest reach in the UFC

Yeah this fight is main event quality, I’m really surprised to see it as a co-main

Unfortunately I do not. But I wouldn't be surprised if he has some great wrestling hidden.

It would be quite something if he took Aspinall down and controlled him there but more likely scenario is we get a war in the stand-up given Aspinall likes to trade shots.

Bit worried for Tom tonight, it hasn't gone well for late stand ins recently and I think he'll need to be at his sharpest to avoid Pavlovichs power and reach. That first round could be mayhem.

Hopefully Jorge pays these boys well
Yeah I think he is. They are backed by some "finance group that prefer to remain anonymous" (Mexican cartel my guess ) and the payouts have been generous in previous events, so I expect these two UFC vets (Costa might come back at some point) were well compensated.

Bareknuckle MMA is a nice concept. Closer to real life scenario. Will try to watch more.

Seems to be a massive feature in women’s mma fights - so many punches are thrown out of range. Punches thrown short. I have no idea why, or whether it’s just something I’m seeing.

The rise of BSD has been something special so far.

Yeah he’s amazing. Really long and powerful. I don’t think we’ve seen enough of him to know what he’d do against a top level grappler, interesting to that end that he called out Gamrot. But yeah I’d fancy him having a good chance against any of the strikers in the devision
