Potentially a very tricky match given Everton's circumstances, a result that was made to feel comfortable in the end. Garnacho's wondergoal at the time he scored it was perfect. It shut the crowd up and sucked the life out of the energy they had brought.

Another plus for us is getting through a game with no injuries or suspensions.

That first half was an bad as anything we’ve served up in the post Fergie era. Just an absolute disasterclass from all involved (Mainoo & Garbacho aside).

ETH is lucky that Garnacho is a genius & Ashley Young is a crap defender.

Bizarre scoreline based on the performance but we’ll take it.

We can’t carry on being this bad.

A Thoroughly unconvincing and undeserved 3-0 win.

3 points is 3 points but it was pretty awful in all honesty, aside from Garnacho's wonder goal that is.
Exactly. What a load of shit we were. I mean just shit. Only thing that could make it worse is if we won 4-0.

Great win. After all the fear mongering look we’re not even that far off top 2 and have overcome one of the worse injury crisis I can remember. Credit to ETH for that. I think most our rival teams would have been way lower if they had the injuries we’ve had over the past few months, arguably good managers may have been sacked.
We haven't overcome anything since it's ongoing and there's no evidence that will end any time soon. At this point it's obvious it's self-inflicted and nothing to do with "bad luck".

Jesus titty feckin christ, how can you win 3-0 away and mostly be garbage?
Our attackers are abysmal for large parts and still, all of them score, beautiful goals as well.
I am going to dream about Garnachos goal tonight!

It is outstanding, the football we have played this season has been awful, today was no better, but we are somehow only 6 points off the top and a few off 4th.

Today was hard to watch, was like watching 11 random stars from around the world playing in a one off all star game. No teamwork, no pace, no pressure. Shocking performance from Rashford, how he stays on beats me. Lost the ball countless times, can't cross, dribble, shoot, tackle, track, run. What does he offer and he gets 90 mins. Mctominay a bit of the same, he didn't lose much but that's because I forgot he was even playing. The guys literally wait for the ball to fall to there feet and then try something, this has to change. We played pure counter attack football against a sean dyche team, imagine if we had a style of play, these guys were 6 0 for the taking.

After a very big rant above, I am delightedly with 3 points, 3 goals and a clean sheet. Mainoo was really good, he is everything we have been missing, I cannot wait for him to build match fitness. Maguire was solid as he has been for a while, I thought Bruno did well in large patches and garnacho looked dangerous but why does he not take on a man and whip a cross as much anymore. Other than Shaw and Dalot with decent games, there was not really much to shout about. Gala, Newcastle and Chelsea next. Will be a interesting week and a bit.

The first half after that. fecking. goooooal... was rubbish, we need to be better than that.

With that negative out of the way, it was fantastic to see us so clinical. We put chances away and got a two goal cushion for the first time in the league this year. The cherries on top were an all-time great goal, a very encouraging debut from Mainoo and finally a boost for our paltry goal difference.

Finally, that goal, that fecking goal!!!

What a strange game. 3:0 away from home sounds so different to the game I've seen :houllier:

Very encouraging debut from Mainoo. He certainly looked as unphased as some of his followers were reporting. Very nice. Garnachos goal was awesome, apart from that, very lively although a bit too theatralic for my liking. Overall match wasn't great. I thought we looked very good in the first 12 minutes until we have overdone the "Baiting Everton into our penalty box" thing and the pressure got too big. I don't think, we played well overall. We created not many chances all game, the penalty was very well struck but apart from that Rashford really had a shocker. I rated him with 3 but I feel bad because of it... Didn't really deserve that because he made so many bad decisions today. He needs a time out, and this is not me beating onto the player, it is me having the feeling he himself puts too much pressure on himself and it is harming himself.

3 fecking great goals, of varying degrees. Garnacho with an absolutely delicious greatest of all time finish, Rashford with a great penalty, and Martial tidily tucking away after some nifty football. A clean sheet. Winning away from home.

Today, football is good.

Stop being so dramatic, we played against a fired up Everton in front of an incredibly pissed of Goodison Park and still won 3-0.

Worth noting that after the second goal our passing started improving. This team is lacking in confidence and whenever there's a sniff of it we start playing really well. I hope this win could give us a boost.

All in all a good win. We were a bit negative but clinical which something we lacked for a long time.

Positives: Shaw returning, Maino did really well, Martial scored, and Garnacho made history.
Negatives: Struggled to control the midfield most of the game. Bruno and Mct need to do more. Rashford was awful apart from the pen.

It certainly knocked the stuffing out of them for a while. Everton did pick themselves up though and might have got back into the game but going 0-2 down early in the 2nd half and they looked wide open and we might have scored more.

Half time scoreline flattered us a lot. Good second half however. Mainoo easily the biggest positive of the game. This could have been a real banana skin and their fans were right up for it. The early goal was huge for us.

Mainoo playing like that is massive for us. We need better quality in midfield.

A very good result given Everton have been solid and the circumstances surrounding the game.

Onana, Maguire, Mainoo, Garnacho our best players. The rest were average to poor.
Bruno worked hard and had a lovely assist, so deserves a mention too.

Great win and a big three points. I don’t think we deserved to win 3-0, we had to defend a lot this afternoon and we were clinical at the other end. There were great performances from Onana and the backline. Mainoo put in one of the best first starts I’ve seen, he oozed class, can’t wait see him play at Old Trafford.

Garnacho goal was brilliant! Will be in the running for best goal of the season.

Did McT play today?! I saw him on the pitch in the very first minutes and after 96 mins, he had some red cheeks so apparently he had a pulse over normal....but in between this time i hardly saw him, neither heard any commentary guys mention his name once (i had to watch the game with "one eye" from time to time) but what i saw was Rashford doing 2 good things out of 10 attempts. If we should move to next level (were we should belong) we can't afford to have players making 80% fails or players that are invisible...not even in a 3-0 win....

I'm not a pessimist, but let's be honest we were lucky to win that!

Only reason we weren't losing at the break was Everton's garbage finishing. They had 24 shots! To be fair Onana did play a part too, good double save in the first half and a great save right after 2-0 which was vital.

Mainoo and Onana's performances and some morale boosting goals for our forwards (shock horror) all big pluses though.

You watch football for the moments like the Garnacho goal and youth flourishing like Mainoo today. As Utd fans we rightly criticise the players when they underwhelm given their potential, but then these moments make it worthwhile.

Great result but gash performance. It’s not a good sign when a 18 year old makes his debut and has more class and composure than everyone else. People will say we were better after the 2nd and whilst we were it was deffo largely down to Everton giving up.

Honestly, we were a bit lucky not to concede at least one goal in the first half. Then the second probably wouldn't have been as comfortable.

You're lunatics, the lot of you. Despite almost universal doomsday predictions pre match, cauldron of passion, Everton against the world, team in form, us further decimated with injuries etc, we come out with a 3-0 win. And you're more miserable than ever. This is where we are. Shite final 25 in the first half, an element of control apart from that, 2 great goal, 3 goals from actual attackers, great performance from Mainoo, Onana imperious, leadership from Bruno, confidence booster for Rashford.....
Cheer up, you miserable shower of cnuts.

I have slightly higher standards then going to a team that have spent the last two seasons fighting relegation are currently 19th (14th without the points deduction) and spending the whole first half being throughly outplayed. It’s not good enough.

I'm not sure how much I agree with that.
I don't think it was convincing, but I also don't think we didn't not deserve to win.
Our attacking play was atrocious and after the first 15 minutes we couldn't string anything together. This seemed like poor tactics more so than any individual lack of performance. We were to wide, too flat and too fluid. Our press was also pretty poor today.

Despite all this, I would say we looked really good defensively. As solid as we looked in a lot of last season's games, something we haven't looked like all season long. Not just due to Everton's play, but our own ability to block them off from attacks. Really solid from Maguire, Lindelof , Shaw and Dalot. That actually provides some good signs.

Mainoo coming in provides a brand new hope for midfield. Yes we have gaps in there, but he brings the touch and energy we have needed. He'd allow Eriksen to be a rotation option in a way Amrabat hasn't. For me, now's the true test. We need good performances with good patterns of play to match and improve on what we did in our best moments last season.
