Christ, how has Luckhurst survived this long? He's an absolute doom mongering idiot.

Their access to press conferences is a media privilege given to them for their work in journalism. We shouldn't let them abuse that privilege to the detriment of the team. They can still write whatever they want, we just have no obligation to lend them the credibility of being a first hand source.

You are right that the coverage from these will likely get worse, but the stance from the club is justified. Unfortunately how we're covered does affect players, but hopefully in the dressing room we're taking steps to turn it into an "us and against them" situation.
He's a twat and worse than Cunstis for writing absolute drivel.

Agreed.

Incredibly small time if true.
They didn't give the club the right of reply. It's basically a standard obligation. The club were probably just waiting for a reason to ban the cnuts, they gave it to them.

They deserve to be banned for it

We're slowly turning into Liverpool aren't we, bit by bit the victim mentality has begun to spread.

Saying that I don't blame the club, given our position it's a nice little winner with the fans. It is just a distraction though.
Not really, someone sent me that sky article earlier and my initial reaction was ‘this isn’t even journalism’. I’d be saying the same if the article was about any other club to be honest, it’s that bad.

Stances should be taken or the line between fact and fiction deteriorates. And there are plenty of people who are willing to believe anything as long as its on the internet / Twitter / whatever.

Hopefully this will unite us more and it will be us against the world on the pitch too. Yeah, I‘m desperate.

It feels a bit like Ten Hag is cracking up under pressure.

I think he is on borrowed time now.

According to article they didn't have a problem with it until now. If it had been a positive or neutral story without asking the club for comment do you think they would have been banned?

Let's stop pretending they weren't banned for publishing a negative article the club didn't like.

Agree with the club on this but it’s too late and the damaged already done. Now the media will ensure the pressure is on Ten Hag further.

Asking the subjects of a story for comment is common decency and a standard journalistic practice. If they don’t adhere to these standards, it is absolutely fair to deny them access.
Incredible really that these senior journos are supposed to be the biggest from their respective media, but yet fail to do such a simple journalistic thing: Bring two sides of a story into an article.

Literally that's what you have to do as a journalist, or else you're shit. They had one job.

Maybe they’ve had enough of the shite they’ve been spewing and decided to draw a line. For me it’s been a long time coming.

We all know they're constantly publishing crap.

But, they put out information which they claimed came from inside the dressing. They should be asking the club to comment on it before posting it. It's standard practice.

It's about time these cretins got some comeuppance.

Regardless they drew the line because they didn't like the negative story, not because of any policy. That is small time. Even if they had contacted the club, the same posters would be cheering the decision. This isn't a good look and doesn't help.

It's simply not liking the stories they write. Had they asked the club for comment would you be against the ban?

And yet Fergie did the same thing. Several managers have been calling journalists out and it’s about time we got on board.
I think it's fair to say that Ten Hag doesn't have the same amount of credit in the bank as Fergie!

By banning the likes of luckhurst ? He might be cracking up but this was the right play by the club/ him
How is banning local journalists the right play? It makes Ten Hag seem very insecure and pedantic. It's a sure sign that he's coming to the end of the road.

Huge respect for the moves - time to kick out all the freaks those media outlets produce.

Yep. It is really simple and easily done. And if they indeed didn’t even attempt to get a comment, they not only should be banned, they deserve to be fired from their paper. And it’s not like they had anything to lose. Just print the clubs denial of the story and go on. It’s not like anybody actually puts much stock into these denials.

And yet the club have said the opposite. You do realise that there are journalists present at the press conference who have written negative stories but have given the club a chance to comment.

Are you seriously suggesting the club should be putting up with this shite? It will just mean those journalists will be approaching the club in future before printing.

Somehow I don't think that this is EtH's idea at all. He didn't seem to take that much of an issue with questionable journalist questions but took the typical Dutch route of direct answering. I do believe this ban is coming from someone else who tries to take control of the narrative. EtH didn't strike me as caring too much about that so far.

This can't be a serious post. Sir Alex would have banned journalists in his first year if he felt they took the piss.

Banning journalists first tells the dressing room and the press that we hold the power. Second it reminds them to stay in line and not constantly try to profit off our own setbacks with bullshit news.

Who cares about Eric's credit? This is not about him, if press spread lies and bullshit, they get banned, simple as that, this should be happening a lot more often at all the clubs. Cull the lying vermin.

I'd have a different opinion of the decision if they banned decent journalists for not following guidelines.

But here you several cnuts whose whole journalistic career is built off the back of reporting rubbish about Man Utd. They didn't follow the proper guidelines they got banned. Proper order.

The problem is that 50% of current United fan base is more interested in media and community opinions of themse…Manchester United than in Manchester United Football Club itself.

As for media. Ban all feckers. I always wondered how an obviously sleazy personage like Sohlekol could made a Sky. This is war.

It's 2023!

Journalists only report what they see and hear!

Is Ten Hag's next move to insist that every negative post on RedCafe or every angry tweet on whatever twitter is called now gets deleted?

Yeh f**k them very hard. It’s not like they are reporting on democracy and now our very futures are in danger, this is football, a sport that ignores racism , sexism and sportswashing. Not letting gutter journos into a managers presser is not really that big a deal, only to those enjoying the managers words being twisted or our dirty laundry being aired.

negative stories had already been written and we can both agree they would do this for a neutral or positive story. Therefore, it's reasonable to view the main reason for the ban as the negative story regardless of the other reasons.

The other question is what does this actually accomplish? Even if they ask for comment, they will still publish the story.

Depends really. If he wasn't doing shite it'd be "right call, feck these press vultures, Fergie did the same" etc. But he's doing shite so it just makes him look like he's struggling under the pressure.
I think it’s gonna look like whatever people want it to look like. Those against ETH will see it as weak, those not against will prob have a less negative view.

I don’t be on social media much and am not subjected to these gutter journalists so won’t be concerned. It’s remarkable how many people chew up their narratives though.

Journalists have to corroborate their stories. A handful failed to do basic journalism 101 and reported gossip.

Believe it or not, whether it's 2023 or 2001, you have free speech but you also have consequences if you chat shit. Ten hag hasn't banned them from writing articles. The club have just said, you can talk shit but then we don't have to include you in our press conferences.

Believe it or not, that's well within our right and it's long overdue.

Angry tweet? We are talking about lies here, misinformation. Lying actions have to have consequences, it can't be simpler than that. I can't believe you are defending the vermin.

This isn’t the Fergie era as much as us fans would like it to be. ETH is in noway in a position of strength. But fair play to him.

About time. The liars have been writing trash for ages and getting away with it.
