The barn door is shut on De Gea, who we treated like trash. But in all fairness I don’t think we can pin any of the three goals tonight on Onana’s back.
The 2nd looked weird but it was a close range header and they even hit you or it’s a goal. Find it weird that people were blaming him over Shaw and McTominay for that goal.

This was a terrible performance at 1-0 too and I said so.

Also, if your final ball isn't right and goes to no one it's not a chance. We've had a lot of possession but created little and gave away needless opportunities through poor defending and sloppiness. It's been like that since the start of the game.
Depends on how you look at chances. Usually you'd look at this game and think it was just one of those days where everything went wrong and everything fell into the other teams hands perfectly. I don't think in terms of the balance of play Bournemouth have looked better. Both teams have been sloppy defensively and you've peppered them in spells, but unfortunately they've taken pretty much every chance they've had and you've took none of them.

I’m definitely leaning towards ETH out. I know it won’t change much quickly but I’d rather a younger person with lots of charisma who we can really get behind. He’s just a grump with no personality. I feel sorry for him but it is what it is, one of the hardest jobs in the world.
    Yeah.
Don't hate the man at all.

Just didn't work out for him.
Should we give him more time? Afraid that boat has sailed.

    Anyone in mind?

    They should be ashamed.
I also wish the fans start going very up close and personal against those lazy fecks. Until the players taste it, nothing's gonna change. I hate this fanbase for clapping like a bunch of seals instead of berating the team (and thus send a message) in moments like these.

20 shots but not many ‘has to score there’ moments.
Yep exactly like in FM where you wonder why your players are being stupid and shooting from stupid angles instead of passing. Dalot shooting instead of passing to Hojlund is a textbook FM nerve wrecking action

Unacceptable result and another bad performance. Looking forward to there being no reaction again next weekend.

We’ve lost Sancho and Greenwood and to an extent Martial and Rashford who are absent in every sense apart from physically stinking up the air at OT. I mean we shouldn’t be too surprised at how poor we are when you couple that with a manager who doesn’t know what he is doing.

I'd say 2 plus the 1 called back were instances of Onana being poor. He didn't create the chance but he could have done a lot better for each one scored.
I’m not a fan of Onana and would ordinarily jump on any valid criticism of him, but not many keepers could have saved any of those three goals IMO.

The late called back though was poor from Onana.

Bournemouth have 3 wins in their last 4 matches. Not confident in that lineup, hopefully im wrong or subs change the game. Could see a point from this match
Can't believe the moaning's already started.

And after a good performance. Playing at home! Against Bournemouth! If you're wetting yourself for this match, I'd recommend not tuning in for the Liverpool match at all.

Boy do I owe you an apology!

Onana always looks like a calamity waiting to happen. And has been. It isn't the greatest feature for a keeper of the goal to have, really.

Even at 1-0 down, with the chances we were creating we could have won, but a poor ball AGAIN led to the 2nd and game over. Brainfarts United.

Bring DeGea back. I think we are seeing how much he kept us in matches when we were playing so shit. Now we're playing the same shit but no one bailing us out.
It’s a nice narrative. It’s nonsense but it’s a nice idea. We did not play this bad other than in spells that got managers sacked and guess what? De Gea was fecking shite in those spells. You don’t like Onana fine, but pining after a finished and frankly shite (at the time of leaving) keeper is the definition of pathetic.

No gloating from me, I'll just enjoy the moment.

Reminds me a little of the earlier Howe days in the Premier League where too many teams underestimated us and assumed they could rotate and still cruise to the points. Bad call from your manager to play Martial, you looked so much better when Hjolund came on.

As for us, I'm simply looking forward to the rest of the season. We'll win some, we'll lose some but at least we'll have a go and it'll be fun to watch.

When your goal difference is -3 and you've lost 7 games out of 16, it's not just one of those games. We've been toothless for a long time now.

Chances usually means a goal-scoring opportunities. Yes they got into good positions but were really poor in the final third. Bournemouth were composed, organised, pressed well and took their chances. Also it was United at home to a bottom half team. It wasn't good enough and you won't convince me this wasn't a poor performance. I don't think that's an over-reaction.

Miserable attitude and superior attitude of the United players. They played really well against Chelsea and expected to win easily over Bournemouth. The team was not motivated enough, which you could see with the many, many wrong passes already in the first minutes. ETH have not set the team up mentally and the players have been too superior and thought they could beat Bournemouth with their arms tied behind their backs.

Deeply unprofessional attitude of the players. Lousy mental work by ETH.

Intent hasn't been a consideration for quite some time now. It's difficult to prove intent.
So why does law 12 refer to it by saying handball includes:
    • deliberately touches the ball with their hand/arm, for example moving the hand/arm towards the ball.
There is no need to "prove" intent; its not a court of law; there is only one arbiter whose word is law and thats the referee. What he thinks is intentional handball is intentional. It is clear and simple and most people who know or watch agree when a movement is intentional or not because it involves a hand moving away from the body or the body being in an unnatural position when jumping etc. The mistake has been to move away from that as being interpretational material to being a firm rule as to when a ball hitting a hand is an offence or not.

Exactly this. "Top Red" mentality has bred an acceptance of mediocrity for a decade now. I get backing your team, but supporting sub-par players and managers has set us back decades and the players know they get away with murder without recourse.

The narrative will be that Bournemouth were organised and you were poor because of the result when I'd argue they weren't really organised at all. They were very easy to play through.

the thing is you can't have a goalkeeper like Onana as the whole defence is all the time wary of some stupid mistakes by him.
Get rid of him as soon as possible.

Onana was not the problem today, though history will judge United harshly for bringing him in when the keeper position was among the least of our problems last season and is now, not today I’ll grant you, is among the most glaring weaknesses in the squad.

Benny Hill would be proud of this club.
