I think he was decent again tonight. Pair him with Mainoo

he's a solid back up, I've no problem with him
Good catch.100% tackles won.... but he got booked for mistiming his movement and deliberately tripping a player up from behind because he couldn't catch up.
Yeah, he's not the fastest, but overall he was decent. He's progressively gotten better, but overall still lacking too much to be considered a serious option as a potential signing.Good catch.
He was very good today, this performance is close to his ceiling IMO as he has very obvious physical limitations (is quite slow). As a backup midfielder he looks ok.
You and 99% of United fans. ETH doesn't seem fancy it though...Yeah, he's not the fastest, but overall he was decent. He's progressively gotten better, but overall still lacking too much to be considered a serious option as a potential signing.
He may improve more as the season goes on, but he's definitely growing into that role. Would like to see him paired with Mainoo in there for a few games to see how they get on together. This McTominay starting in a hybrid 10 role or whatever it is, has to stop.
Which was the sort of clever foul City midfielders get away with all the time. Killing off a very dangerous counter at source. If anything that moment was a positive.100% tackles won.... but he got booked for mistiming his movement and deliberately tripping a player up from behind because he couldn't catch up.
Yeah it was definetley tactical, it was a dangerous break and needed stopping.Which was the sort of clever foul City midfielders get away with all the time. Killing off a very dangerous counter at source. If anything that moment was a positive.
So he should. A player like him should be no where near a European tie for a club like Man United. Soak it in. Standards are so low, might as well enjoy it.Posts a picture of himself making a tackle to his instagram stories - says it all, really
Fair pointSo he should. A player like him should be no where near a European tie for a club like Man United. Soak it in. Standards are so low, might as well enjoy it.
In what way?Thread is starting to sound like Weghorst's.
When you say he is a "decent player" and "identical to Fred" is that really a compliment ?He is decent player, but he is not holding midfielder at all for me, at least not in one man midfield anyway. He is small, very slow, pretty average range of passing, but he runs a lot and can make some decent short passes, and can carry ball at decent quality. I would say pretty identical player to Fred so it's quite amazing that we sold Fred and brought him instead, what was the point? Box to box midfielder for me if I ever saw one, I have no idea why people insisted he is a deep lying midfielder when we wanted him.
Another midfielder our manager brought to play different position to the one he played before, if I remember well he was always paired with another midfielder in holding midfielder role. And another proof he knows feck all about football.
Sabitzer had pedigree (if you can call it that) at a top club, so I expected him to be better than he was. With Amrabat I can’t see why people expected him to be special, just look at the clubs he has played for in the last decade, he’s simply not a top echelon player.Good performance in terms of work rate but he is hilariously poor in every department. Makes Sabitzer look great, needs to be binned as soon as we have the bodies back to do so.
He is absolutely awful on the ball and chases around. Don’t think he actually positions himself all that well. Someone like last year’s Casemiro next to Mainoo would be perfect for us now.Shocking on the ball, just really really bad
And yet, we looked far more solid with two holding midfielders. Defensively he does pretty well in taking up the right positions.
