remember how we used to call Stewart Downing false winger when he was at Liverpool? that's Anthony now.
He actually reminds me of a worse version of defensive wide-forward era Dirk Kuyt, but showboaty and a lot less effective. Pointlessly awful.

We can't sell him, nobody would touch this guy.
He showed glimpses of quality last season, now he is hopeless.

It is embarrassing that Ten Hag continues to start Antony.

We had one shot in the first half while continuing to attack down the right so that plan didn't work.

Sell Antony in the summer, take the FFP hit, move on. Give someone else a chance.

Even an out of form Hojlund has 5 goals in the CL and finally scored in the PL. Antony has contributed 0 goals + 0 assists this season; how is that even possible ?

I like how Dalot is in open space and is coming close thinking he is going to receive the ball. No, you don't, Diogo!

This signing has been depressing. He’s not cut out for this level, he wasn’t even outstanding in the Dutch league.

He’s easily the worst signing we’ve made in the post Fergie era. Genuinely garbage.
He's the worst signing in history for anyone and yeah worse than Hazard and Coutinho because they at least showed their worth before their move.

I actually think he'd benefit from playing with Amad. When out on the right, they both need players to interplay with. Amad with Patrick Roberts, Antony with Mazraoui.

I doubt they'll ever play together, though.

Was so obvious even a year ago that he was terrible. There are times when a player shows flashes or evidence that he has more in his locker and needs time. And then there are times when it's painfully obvious how limited a player is that no matter how much time or space is given for him to "acclimate" to the league he'll never be any good.

And I said it at the time but Ten Hag INSISTING on breaking the bank for him no matter what was a sackable offense. Showed how shocking his judgement actually is when identifying players.

Good candidate for the worst transfer in the history of football. Definitely worst in the history of Man Utd(at least from what I can remember in my relatively short life so far).

ETH deserves to be sacked and criminally charged for insisting on this transfer.

No he wouldn't. Antony isn't some clever interplaying winger that wants to pass and move like an Amad or younger Martial etc.

Thing is this is how good he is. He’s playing as well as he can, this level he’s showing is his best level. And if you watched his highlights reels on YouTube you could clearly see this!!

Maybe we could turn him into attacking wing back or something. Its not the first time we did this with Young and Valencia.

How much longer is this fraud here for?

Worst winger in the league, absolute shite, never selling him.

Heaven knows how we ended up with Antony, especially at the cost of £85m. I struggle to think of any Premier League team that would view him as a starter.

The training clip everyone was talking about is the exact same as the clip above. Too many touches, defenders get set and the attack breaks down.

Amad, on the other hand, does things at spreed, and actually, it showed when he came on.

He isn't, no. But when you have a player in Amad who naturally wants to play 1-2s, has smart off the ball movement which helps with the interchanging plays, I think he could bring that out in Antony. Garnacho, too, if he drifted over to the left.

EXACTLY. This isn't' a Sancho situation where you had a young winger lighting it up with goals and assists galore that just isn't hitting that level with us. Antony is playing exactly how he did at Ajax, just now he's facing tougher competition and being exposed for it (in a worse functioning team as well so his lack of efficiency is even more glaring)

I would say it’s the worst United signing ever alongside Sancho.
I don’t think it’s far away from being the worst transfer in the entire history of football.

Pound for pound, the value per goal contribution at the moment isn’t far off an 8 figure sum.

I actually want to apologize. I was calling him a bottom table winger for the better part of a year now but that's an insult to Luton and the other teams at the bottom, he wouldn't start for any of them.

He's fecking terrible and we wasted so much money on him. He's had enough time to show something and he's shown nothing. A pigeon with boots on would provide more for us.

I will no longer comment on his performances as I do not expect much and the bar is very quite low for him. The best things for the club are to move both him and Sancho on, try and get some comp for Rashford and a dangerous left wing forward who can run at players, cause havoc but also pass and score. Apparently when scouting, the United scouts had put a 25-30m valuation on Antony (Neville saying this on TV now)

The funny thing is Antony actually scored in his first 3 in his first 4 league games for United. Since then he's got 1 goal in 37 games.

I see a lot of people suggesting this. Antony works hard but I don't think he's good enough defensively to be, well, a defender! Plus he's not good at carrying the ball down the wings, crossing, or anything you'd want from a full/wing back, really.

At least with Young and Valencia they had attributes in which it made sense to convert them.

There have been many big money flops - some young like Dembele, Felix and even our very own Sancho but there was at least some rationale and hype behind the transfers.

More experienced flops like Coutinho and an older Hazard at least had a body of work that made such transfers understandable.

Antony pound for pound be the worst transfer in history. I don't think there was any evidence that he was worth or could be worth as much as we paid for him.
