It's not understandable given the two people are adults and not breaking any laws or affecting anyone else's lives. It's the moral policing and frowning that should be looked as completely out of place and needless. Will be great if people mind their own business than trying to dictate how other people live their lives.
Don't worry, we all know you're a diddler.

Well in the UK and many other countries a 16 year old is classed as a minor and in Germany those under 18 are classed as adolescents, so no, when they met she was not an adult.
This case isn't even from the UK, which makes the whole judgemental shite even worse. Even if it was, there are laws in place for a reason and if someone breaks them there are processes in place to take care of that. So people can go back to their own personal lives and let others live theirs.

Even ignoring the noncey vibes there is something seriously weird about a 30(ish) year old man who wants to hang around with a 16(ish) year old child, never mind marry them.
Submission and control in the name of devotion most likely.

It all makes sense now - Moby wiki - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moby

Moby identifies himself as heterosexual and cisgender and had felt "disappointed" to be straight.[14] He claimed in a book to have had a brief relationship with actress Natalie Portman, though she has denied this, calling Moby's account "disturbing" (as she was 18 at the time), with Portman further describing their interactions as "a much older man being creepy with me".

Mane was either playing in the UK or Germany when they met where she wouldn't have been defined as an adult.

Did he switch his citizenship or am I missing something?
Sorry? Do you think you can move to a new country but ignore their laws/acts and continue living by the laws/acts of your own country or something?

Given he was in the UK or Germany at the time, when he was in those countries he'd either have to go to Senegal to see her or be with her in either country and she would have been classed as a minor.

Either way it's weird and I'm surprised you're so staunchly defending someone who is a fully fledged adult wanting to hang around a 16 year old.

Are there laws that forbid him to be in a relationship with a girl who is not living in that country and is considered legal in the one that she is?

Chelsea (the saviours of football) fan.
Not concerned at all. She's old enough, not everyone has western cultures and ideals. And I don't get the impression that he violated a minor. With these types of religious people it wouldn't even surprise me that she was a virgin till her wedding night. Sometimes you just have to let people live their lives the way they see fit without snobby western judgement.
Religious people being famously adverse to dodgy stuff with kids?

Never said there are, just said it's quite rightly morally frowned upon and you brought up that they were both adults, when they weren't.

So what? In Germany age of consent is 14, so it would have been legal for him to bang her right when they met.

And you can marry at age 16 in Germany, even that wouldbe possible. The age difference between them is unusual, but there seems to be no reason to act like he did something really wrong.

EDIT: just saw your later post, never mind...

So, it's strange? If you're a 30ish year old man and you want to bang a 16 year old you're a fecking weirdo. A 16 year old is not an adult.

Literally says he had to wait until she was 18 until it was legal so..child sex tourism maybe?

How is it rightly frowned upon when she is considered an adult in the country that she is from? The whole world isn't gonna live their lives according the laws of UK or Germany.

Mate the only weirdo here is the one losing his head over someone doing something well under legal and social norms in a different part of the world. Take a shower or something.

…is it the norm over there? If anything the law making him wait until 18 says otherwise

Shall we extrapolate this argument out to other countries, where they have laws that allow men to marry children essentially? You're fine with that as well, I assume, given everything is fine once there is a law.

This whole 'mind your own business stuff' is absolute bollox.
