Maybe they don't want a repeat of the same cowardly tactics, lack of accountability and shit results we saw during his stint at the club?

Must've been living under a rock during his tenure at the club if you cant comprehend why people wouldn't want someone who already failed miserably back at the helm.
I rather us play Jose's style for the rest of the season and have a chance of qualifying for Europe and/or win the FA Cup than stick with Erik and probably end up in the bottom half of the table with no trophies.

I'd rather we were managed by neither, if winning tin pot cups and finishing fourth with dinosaur tactics is what we're aiming for then we seriously need to take a look in the mirror. This is Manchester United not Crystal Palace.

I'd take peak Jose in a heartbeat. Other than SAF, my favorite manager of all time. But peak Jose doesn't exist anymore.

No, feck off and please never come back.

I would rather keep ETH, and I have lost all belief in him as well.

So? Finals are to be won, not to be played.
There are inherent limitations to that style of football, and the fact that that trophy (like every other post-SAF trophy) wasn't a springboard to anything should say a lot about its value.

I thought the EL run last year (beating Barca and multiple Spanish teams before failing at Sevilla), and in 2021 (Roma, Milan, random Spanish team, some good games) were far more memorable and impressive than most of the trophies. The Europa run in 2017 (a poor Ajax, random Spanish or French teams, all narrow wins), last year's League Cup winning run (Newcastle and ...???), or LvG's FA Cup (Everton, West Ham, Palace were the big names during that one!) were all meh. The only respectable one is Jose's League Cup, because of City and a decent Southampton.

Yes. I agree with that.
I really did hope that when Jose was appointed, we would be back at the top.
And with a bang average squad, he took United to a 2nd place finish.
But for a host of reasons, some Jose but many not, it just didn't work out.

But there is no doubting his charisma.

I’d love him to come back and prove the negative fans wrong
I love the guy but there’s not much evidence he would. Ever since another team parked the bus he has reverted to going there in games instead of trusting his team to blitz the opponents.
In his prime yeah maybe he coulda fit here but it was never the attacking full throttle United way.

He's lost the plot since he went off on that female doctor at Chelsea. People clamoring for him need to get their head checked.

He couldn’t win the league with us when we could spunk big money how do you think he would cope when we have to shop in the bargain bucket

lets not do this revisionism. the glazers did not back jose whatsoever in the summer after we finished 2nd. asked for 5 players and got fred, dalot, and lee grant. imagine if the glazers weren't cheap, we would've gotten griezmann

Was he also right about Shaw at the time? I cannot remember the context. But, there for sure have been times when Shaw has been lazy and out of shape in the past. Thankfully he seems like a model pro right now (just please stay healthy, finally..)
Maybe at the time, but positionally Shaw made some bizarre decisions over the years on his way to being the best LB in the league

Call me mental but I’d welcome this as I’m so done with Erik.

anybody would be better than that fraud.

And what Ten Hag is serving up IS??
I keep seeing this argument and it's just nonsensical, I think we can all agree for the most part that ETH isn't suited for the job, but why bring in someone who we know for a fact isn't good enough and who has created toxicity almost everywhere he's been? Downright moronic to want anything to do with that Dinosaur.

The chelsea job is more attractive than the Utd job at the moment. Chelsea's squad may have more potential to bring the best out of it and get better result. If Jose wants to return to big club in EPL, Chelsea probably is a more attractive destination.

Nope, that was Ole. By far. José is 3rd behind him and ETH.
I think he's a shit manager and I would rank him at the very bottom alongside Moyes but I could be wrong. I'm not a Manchester United supporter so I might be missing something.

I don't quite understand why he gets so much hate around here as he has been the best manager you've had since SAF retired. That being said you guys shouldn't appoint him back at all.
He really wasn't. He was the best in some qualities, but toxicity and his squad building have been easily the worst out of all managers post SAF and those two things were unfortunately extremely important.

Jose hasn’t aged well. His football doesn’t work at the top level anymore. He’s a dinosaur.

Say what you will, you gotta admire Pep’s longevity. The man has been at the forefront of football for like 15 years, and has totally changed the way the game is played, for better or for worse.

People didn’t think he could hack it with a traditional #9, but has integrated Haaland seamlessly into his tactics.

If the caf existed in 1988/89.
Let’s not compare EtH with the king if you don’t mind. EtH gets a lot of unfair shit on here, but this is a very unfair comparison/edit based on what EtH has served up so far, which has been largely expensively acquired dreck and awful football.

I wouldn't take that guys opinion as fact. I enjoyed large parts of the Ole era, I'd say the best parts were the best parts of post SAF, but in the end Jose won two trophies and got our highest points total since his retirement, so he has an objective case for best or second best.

The highest highs were in the Ole era. Yeah Mo won us the Europa League, and that was cool, but it was insane when we went on that winning streak with Ole.

Ole was a club legend who loved the club and had its best interests at heart too, despite not working out. Mourinho’s football heritage speech revealed he doesn’t care about anything other than himself and his own ego.

100%. At this point only Mainoo has not been labeled a fraud (yet). When he has a dip in form, which he will because that is what young players do, he will be labeled a fraud too.

Erik achieved more with AJAX than Jose with Roma. I think that shouldnt be forgotten. So if he comes his level would be about the same as Erik plus all the dramas and all the shit tactics. Hes been broken and sacked multiple times. Thats the Jose version youre getting. His siege mentality only works when he is the top dog of football, once he is insecure even with himself he is no more than a clown and players wont heed his "motivational speeches" anymore, at which point theres little advantage to hire him because he is tactically outdated.

That’s true. There’s nothing higher than going trophyless for four years.
