In typical Arsenal fashion they’ve shat themselves when it matters, we’re just too poor to take advantage. I think we’ll do em at least with a draw.

Must have watched a different half. Or your expectations are on the floor. Arsenal have been vulnerable and I think most teams would be at least on level terms. They’re beating us even when they’re choking
We've broadly played well and created some good chances. More better chances than them in fact. We've been able to keep possession and create some patterns along both flanks.

My expectations aren't in the floor, this is a title challenging opposition, but if we play well they must be choking?

He is an asshole. Nobody is that bad. That is not giving a shit
He really shouldn’t be playing he’s clearly lost all interest, I’d put Kambawla second half and let Amrabat continue for the rest of the season, he’s been ok.

I know its tough up there for Hojlund but he doesn't help himself by being, like, not very good.

    Pundit yes, commentator no.

There's a big difference. I find him awful on comms, all that weird moaning for a start, he's not as insightful as during his punditry analysis and often sounds depressed during games.
he must be as depressed as me about United! why wouldn't he be? but everyone has a co-com now and he's way better than anyone else on sky and miles above BT's not to mention jokers like Keown and Jenas. some here want him to be more pro-United but that would make him like Carragher and Redknapp...

incidentally I was watching the 99 CL final again and Ron Atkinson was even worse than I remember!

We've been pretty average as has Arsenal, but we haven't forced Raya into a save yet. Which is ultimately the problem by using a defensive team.

Amads been good though, the only bright spark in another mediocre half. Feel like Arsenal are just going through the motions rather than going all in.

His skills are more useful and he could actually help Bruno when it comes to playmaking.
It's just everything, even the micro details. He simply understands football at a level Antony does not. His movements and timings and his involvements and even the times he disengages to roam are literal leagues above Antony - like you can see the clear potential and growth path Amad had open to him with what he does.

Even if it doesn't work for him here, he's a top level talent in the making that we should always be aspiring to bring in, as opposed to Antony whose game unfortunately isn't even mid-table club standard.

You can envisage Amad having a solid working relationship with anyone who can play, and moreover, trying to understand how he can make himself useful to said player with his runs, passes and engagements. If you want to play some touch football, and have him at your disposal, how are you ignoring him for someone who cannot string 3 passes together?

Mind bogglingly bad management. Antony's not even better than him at defending and tracking back, which makes it even worse.

It took 2 years for ETH to admit Amad is better than his 80M signing.
He might not have ended up a world beater, but imagine if he had been given Antony’s minutes over those two years. He’d probably have had more minutes due to being an actual footballer too.

Instead, we have one overpriced liability, and a young lad whose career has stalled due to injury and favouritism. The whole Antony thing (asking for him, paying €85m for him, then persisting with him) is the straw that breaks the camels back for me with EtH.

There were people on here that clearly wanted Amad to fail and basically made sarcastic comments about anyone who wanted him to start anytime he didn't single handedly win the game on his own. He's shown today he obviously should have been given more chances.

I'd say AWB was actually too aware of Trossard and too scared of him running behind, which allowed Trossard get goal side easily

Amad has had his own problems, he looks a lot better in work rate now but there were games this season where he was bad, and got shouted at from Bruno mid game for not working backwards.

I dont think Ten hag disputes his quality on the ball, but he needed to sharpen himself off it.
Imagine getting annoyed at people praising Amad that you have to post a defence of Ten Hag

We need some luck to score, otherwise I can't see these attackers scoring. Games pretty much over, sad.

Composure has feck all to do with your standing foot skidding on over greasy turf.
I disagree - from experience players with more composure are far less likely to slip over, and more likely to keep their footing when they need to. Of course composed players can still slip though.

Poor half of football overall. There's really not many moments to discuss even. Amad looks lively for us, that's about the only positive. Disappointing were losing when Arsenal aren't even playing well.

Amrabat done really well to neutralize Ødegaard so far. Probably why we aren't down four goals already.

I disagree with Hojlund. I think he's held it very well.
a lot of people here have an agenda against Hojilund, presumably because he isn't RvP or RvN... I think he's good and if I was him I'd be pissed off at never getting a decent pass

Maybe my hopes are too high. But I still think United should be winning at home to anyone

Which will hopefully still happen but an uphill task

And hopefully no more cut back goals

100% Amrabat is much better in midfield at this point. And as for a CB, I assume Kambwala is not fully recovered to start, but ANY CB, even 16 year old would be much better than this disinterested, wandering-around Casemiro. At least they would know how to hold the line.

To be fair when I said I suppose I meant England in general. I honestly don't know what they're at over there. All this banter bullshit and clueless ex-pros talking shite.

I’ve been very vocal in saying Amad has world class potential.

    farcial Antony starts over him
His qualities and intelligence are very obvious, which makes his overall exclusion look very strange. Anybody who's been following him won't be surprised that he's playing like this. And it's not that he's even been that good, but you can so easily see that he's a quality player
