Tsunoda is a very lucky boy looking at that.
He might get pole by just jogging over the line tbfIf I was Norris I am not leaving that pit![]()
He had enough time to improve his timings as there were 4 mins between the restart and the crash. He basically lost just one spot because of the timing of the flag rather than the 9 he lost by not doing a lap earlierLost his chance to improve like some others got obviously.
They'd let him put a time in regardless. If I was Norris I am not leaving that pit![]()
Probably a combination of things. But it doesn’t matter really. Fundamentally in my view F1 cars should be driveable in these conditions. We should have suspended sessions if the spray means drivers can’t see - that’s a driver safety issue. But we should not have suspended sessions because cars crash every time they try and push.Is it possibly tyre temperature? They always go on about that to get the fired up and working.
Wet driving 101, don’t touch the white lines. Are you using your eyes?
The cars suddenly hit a puddle in a wrong way and immediately it causes the car to snap. No doubt some driver error / eagerness in there, but fundamentally, these cars are not driveable in the rain. Which in and of itself is farcical.
come on you dont actually believe what you have posted !!I know people are saying they don’t cause red flags on purpose but driving above the limit and putting it in the wall is by definition causing a red flag on purpose, they can always decide to drive slower and keep it on the tarmac.
Or… it’s a function of the cars themselves?I know this generation of cars are sensitive and the tyres are crap but the conditions aren’t as bad to have caused as many red flags as they have done, it’s a by product of everyone pushing as it’s qualifying, this won’t happen in the race.
Not saying the RB strategy was correct, the fact is that some drivers were allowed to finish their laps and he wasn't.He had enough time to improve his timings as there were 4 mins between the restart and the crash. He basically lost just one spot because of the timing of the flag rather than the 9 he lost by not doing a lap earlier
Even then he wasn't improving as he lost time to the yellow
Which wasn't the reason for the delayed red flagNot saying the RB strategy was correct, the fact is that some drivers were allowed to finish their laps and he wasn't.
Agreed, this is too many spinning off for driver error. Drivers should be able to push if they have the right tyres on.Probably a combination of things. But it doesn’t matter really. I know.Which wasn't the reason for the delayed red flag
Which can’t help them with tyre temps and contributes to them driving off track.Cars sitting there 3 minutes before![]()
Better than class 2 rainWhat’s class 1 rain…?
better than class 2What’s class 1 rain…?
Then Fiakachu face when a car bins it because of low grip.Cars sitting there 3 minutes before![]()
light drizzle , well according to SkyWhat’s class 1 rain…?
Quantity doesn't equal quality! Is more rain or less rain better rain?
I think so as well, they are pushing to get a lap in when the tyres aren’t up to it. I think the tyres need looking into cause they should be ready from the off.Which can’t help them with tyre temps and contributes to them driving off track.
Tbh he wasn't improving so it wouldn't have made a difference anyway. He had yellow mini sectors all through. Gasly suffered the most as he genuinely looked good. Not saying the RB strategy was correct, the fact is that some drivers were allowed to finish their laps and he wasn't.
Drivers can always choose to drive slower to keep it on track, it’s not ‘on the limit’ but the risk-reward is at their discretion. That’s where the skill is!come on you dont actually believe what you have posted !!
Better than class 2 rain
Oh look at you two, cutebetter than class 2

Would help if Pirelli could make a rain tyre... they need to look at giving the tyres to somebody else.Just put em in WRC cars. Sadly though this will probably be an excuse for Liberty to push for more desert races.
Yes becasue they chose to do a warm up lap, he had just started his push lap when he got stopped.Tbh he wasn't improving so it wouldn't have made a difference anyway. He had yellow mini sectors all through. Gasly suffered the most as he genuinely looked good.
It's just terrible excuses
I think so of the younger drivers just go for it, maybe a lack of experience or just a different attitude to yesteryear.Drivers can always choose to drive slower to keep it on track, it’s not ‘on the limit’ but the risk-reward is at their discretion. That’s where the skill is!
There is no push lap with yellow sectorsYes becasue they chose to do a warm up lap, he had just started his push lap when he got stopped.
It will be different in a race I think, well I hope!I think so of the younger drivers just go for it, maybe a lack of experience or just a different attitude to yesteryear.
He was stopped becasue of Stroll after one sector. There is no push lap with yellow sectors

OK both fair pointI agree with him. To finish first you have to finish first. Drive to the conditions. etc. 90% of motor racing is keeping it on track.
His previous lap was probably an attempt, but something slowed him there as S1 was on pace. His attempt that got stopped at the end he was already well offYes becasue they chose to do a warm up lap, he had just started his push lap when he got stopped.
