I think it’s clear the club wanted to get rid of the high paying players even from last year.Might be some truth to this. I think he's a very mediocre player for the wage he's on personally and maybe he wasn't carrying himself the way the manager liked in training but then I think of Antony situation and him not really getting much of a look in either under Amorim.
After being told on here this season was all about figuring out who could play in a 343, Amorim seemingly determined very quickly they couldn't cut it. That's a little suspicious to me. Nothing wrong with wanting to bring the wage bill more in line with revenue but I hope they aren't concocting stories to get people to turn on Rashford.
Wouldn't surprise me if they told Amorim from day 1 Rashford and Antony needed to go because we have attackers in their positions on lower wages.

Amorim said it was his decision. I still think whatever went wrong between him and Rashford could've been fixed. Finish the season before you start tearing apart the squad. Our season is getting worse game after game and right now we don't even have enough attackers to win us games consistently. Strengthening Aston Villa who are into the quarters of the FA cup and playing knockout CL football is certainly an interesting decision. They've got about 6 attacking players who instantly start here and we gave them arguably our best one.Would have been very useful in games like today.

He’s been shite for 18 months, keeping him in hope he has an odd decent game here and there is short sighted. We’ve left ourselves short but if we could actually sell him in the summer and get rid of his extortionate wages it’s the right decision.
We’ve prioritised getting rid of him permanently rather than probably having to loan him out in the summer, same with Antony.
I always chuckle whenever i get that response. He's been shite for 18 months.... yes like the rest of the team and even then he's still stepped up and scored some important goals. It's unfair to demand that Rashford remains this absolute beacon of consistency while all around him his teammates are performing poorly, our managers regularly get out coached by any decent manager in addition to getting outclassed tactically on a regular basis and the club has somehow managed to gather some of the most error prone footballers in the PL. Every single factor just makes it more difficult for any player to be consistent, it's why players come here and look much worse after a short while.Who hasn't?

Accepted it wasn't a football decision once I saw the Jamie Jackson article when he was dropped from the squad.Amorim froze him from the matchday squad but it's the club that wants him sold. He was moved on so quick for Amorim to have been the lone input. He makes too much and is impossible to have sustainable finances when everyone scales their contract demands based on what we're giving Rashford and Casemiro. Basically it will be a rough couple years as we clean the house. These aren't pure football decisions and the quicker people accept it the quicker they can stop putting everything at Amorim's door.
