It’s gone well for Spurs and Arsenal. A new stadium just leaves me with ever decreasing connection to the club.Time to create more history.

Damn that was a tap in!Don't forget e)boue.
All of them are ugly. Why should it take elements from Old Trafford? Old Trafford now looks completely different to what it did 30 years ago. Things change. It's true but I think a lot of it is cost based. These generic bowls are probably much quicker/cheaper to build. There's an element of not being able to please everyone but I do think it's sad there seems to be a clear lack of interest in preserving OT or elements from OT. It very much has the look of 'let's build the biggest stadium we without much interest in it's aesthetic and then drape a net over it + whack some towers on to change its outline.'
These were Ai generated when the stadium was mooted and all of them gave a nod to the cantilever roof to some degree. Surely there was a way to get a bit more of OT into the new stadium.

I think that was indeed intentional if I had to guess!Heard someone mention the three spires resemble the tips of the Devil's trident on our logoNot sure if that's an insightful observation by them or was mentioned in the press release...either way, I like it.
Yeah, that’s by design mate. Thats lord foster earning his big bucksHeard someone mention the three spires resemble the tips of the Devil's trident on our logoNot sure if that's an insightful observation by them or was mentioned in the press release...either way, I like it.

Cheers lads. Old Man Foster's still got it.Yeah, that’s by design mate. Thats lord foster earning his big bucks

That’s not what I’m saying, it’s not unheard of to see building longevity, repairability or even safety be sacrificed to become more sustainable, just for it actually not to be in the long runYup, Lord Foster is clueless.
Well according to a statement by The 1958 it does look generic.
So anyone that has a different opinion to you hasn't got a clue what this club is about? What a load of bollocks.Right with you. This club has a much deeper and richer past than both those clubs to. Leaving Old Trafford to go to this soulless carnival like set up almost feels like a wind up.
The fans who are actually happy with the designs they’ve seen today have not got a clue what this club is about or how different it will become in a few years… It’ll be a tourists day out and all of us who have been going to games as loyal supporters for years will be priced out and replaced by the prawn sandwich brigade.
None of this is done in the interest of the club. It’s to line the owners pockets.
Really? I feel the opposite. Just yesterday he stated how skint we are, and that we’re in major trouble if we didn’t stop feeding the kit men, just to announce a £2bn stadium today. With no clarification on funding. And it’ll likely be put on to the fans. And it’s not exactly done any other ‘top’ teams a favour. Took Arsenal years to recover, and look at SpursHave to say I absolutely love it. Best I felt about United for quite a long time.
Right with you. This club has a much deeper and richer past than both those clubs to. Leaving Old Trafford to go to this soulless carnival like set up almost feels like a wind up.

Well make a lot of the money selling the surrounding land for the larger regen project
They added three polls. Ffs did you even look at the pictures?Added a poll
Would that not constitute receiving government funds.Well make a lot of the money selling the surrounding land for the larger regen project

You do realise that the ‘tourist’ market is going to be huge for all ‘big’ clubs going forwards. You can’t just have a stadium sitting on its own and only generating money on match days for the lucky few who get to go and watch the games.Right with you. This club has a much deeper and richer past than both those clubs to. Leaving Old Trafford to go to this soulless carnival like set up almost feels like a wind up.

I think it would have been nice to have some link to the past, not that crazy an idea to grasp. As said, I think much of this is down to cost. All of them are ugly. Why should it take elements from Old Trafford? Old Trafford now looks completely different to what it did 30 years ago. Things change.
There must be some aspects we could re use to keep that link as I also think that would be nice. Even if small ones.I think it would have been nice to have some link to the past, not that crazy an idea to grasp. As said, I think much of this is down to cost.
What is the bit of both option? Like and dislike at the same time? Like and love which is basically just a positive response? I’m confused.Added a poll.
Sounds painful.I’m split.
what the problem here? Fans get a great matchday experience and the club rakes in some extra cash from folk who aren’t fans and wouldn’t otherwise visit. It’s win winI’m fearful the experience that it’ll generate will give equal footing to the football and the fan component as it will to shopping and eating and being a tourist destination.
I’m not sure why some are worried about the non football side of it all, like you say it’ll bring a lot of extra money.what the problem here? Fans get a great matchday experience and the club rakes in some extra cash from folk who aren’t fans and wouldn’t otherwise visit. It’s win win
It’s just not us.Building a new state of the art stadium. Doesn't get more embarrassing than that.![]()
Not yet it’s not. It’s just not us.
Yes. To all of this. The amount of memories I have in this stadium are cherished.Right with you. This club has a much deeper and richer past than both those clubs to. Leaving Old Trafford to go to this soulless carnival like set up almost feels like a wind up.
