Lost his light sabre
7:1 aggregate vs 4th La Liga team.
Not too feckin shabby, Ruben.

But only if he has a complimentary midfielder next to himOnce the subs were on it showed even more so that Bruno in this system is better as a midfield orchestrator with two mobile 10’s and the striker ahead of him, Bruno needs the game fully in front of him and we need creativity in midfield so it just makes so much sense.
With players that can not play this system, i’ll reserve my judgement for when he has been backed, had a pre season and time to implement. I’d be furious if i was brought into any role in similar circumstances and judged the same way.I don’t think I’ll be ever convinced by this system. Exposed over and over again.
Garnacho could be better as a winger. Doesn’t fit this formationThe thing that will kill Amorims career at United is there is too many players who don't have brains. Garnacho is one, Dorgu looks likes he's another, Hojlund.
Amad comes on, turns the game around on its head, something Garnacho could never do. Garnacho stutters like a bad broadband connection when he sees someone in front of him. His finishing is poor. Hojlund, do we really need to go there?
Dorgu is fast and strong but outside that, hes not shown much else. Time may tell but at the moment I have my reservations.
Casemiro, Amad, Bruno and hopefully a fit Mount are key to winning the EL.
Doubling down again. With CBs that can get forward and a real striker and good 10s, why can’t it work?I don’t think I’ll be ever convinced by this system. Exposed over and over again.
In fairness to Dorgu he should have had an assist early on with that Garnacho chance. The thing that will kill Amorims career at United is there is too many players who don't have brains. Garnacho is one, Dorgu looks likes he's another, Hojlund.

Definitely mate and it’s why Ugarte always looks better alongside Bruno as Ugarte can just do the ball winning and lay the ball off to Bruno to dictate instead of Ugarte having to play with the ball more when alongside Casemiro, the ideal person would be Wharton who’s very Carrick like in having plenty of steel that goes under the radar due to being seen as more of a defensive playmaker. But only if he has a complimentary midfielder next to him
Why is he called lego pep? We’ve had an abysmal season and he can still walk out with more trophies than Lego Pep.
Playing lotto this week?Amad on for Mazraoui and Mount on for Ugarte, move Bruno back, we win the second half comfortably.
Can’t believe you saw an extra goal that no one else saw across both games. Can't believe we won 8-1 while playing with 7 at the back and a rigid system.
They'll shout about the system till they're blue in the face but that's all they know how to do. None of them can tell you specifically from a tactical and player instruction point of view what's causing things to go wrong. It's painfully obvious to anyone that has played a lick of organized football at any level that our problems are mostly psychological, and have been for a while. Players panic with the ball, have no confidence, and are hesitant with and without the ball because the first thought in their mind is not fecking up rather than just executing. There's also the small matter of the impossibility of completely implementing a system to the extent that it's second nature in this limited amount of time coming in mid-season. The blind ignorance in this thread is astounding. What will make or break Amorim here is changing that mentality.Doubling down again. His hair is perfect and structured similar to a lego minifigure. Pep bit is due to him being assistant to Pep for ages. Why is he called lego pep?
There was a question earlier in the thread about the formation and how can it be better than a 4-3-3, which I answered. It’s all about formation with and without the ball, in the defensive third and in attack. They'll shout about the system till they're blue in the face but that's all they know how to do. And when we are not filling the majority of the team with defenders. That second half illustrated for me how well this team can play when we have good footballers on the pitch that can use the ball well.
Mentality is certainly one element but a lack of quality in key areas is a much bigger one. And please let's not pretend that playing Sunday league makes anyone a better judge of a team's flaws. They'll shout about the system till they're blue in the face but that's all they know how to do. I think some of us have played high levels, into our 20s on lower league teams, semi pro, etc. “Better judge” is somewhat subjective depending on where you land in the debate. There is a massive gap with Sunday league and playing on a team with professional coaches, national team players etc.Mentality is certainly one element but a lack of quality in key areas is a much bigger one. But playing at a higher level doesn't automatically make you a better assessor of the game. Look at almost every television pundit.I think some of us have played high levels, into our 20s on lower league teams, semi pro, etc. “Better judge” is somewhat subjective depending on where you land in the debate. Deserves more credit for the way he manages player fitness.
ETH ran these players into the ground, Amorim seems to know exactly when players are reaching their limits and is even quite vocal about it.
Wrong thread for this, but too lazy to find the right one.
Big Dave has been fantastic in the Fiorentina Betis tie as has Antony. Where would we be with those two in the squad?
