What now?

We’re fecked, basically. We’re going to be looking at Liam Delap as our main striker next season, and I think we’ll be very lucky if Bruno is still with us next season.

Maybe knee jerk, but I really do think this is so damaging.
I don't think it's knee-jerk. I genuinely feel the same way. We absolutely, positively needed to win that to jumpstart our rebuild and we didn't. It's going to take a lot longer now and us languishing in mid-table in the league for the foreseeable future is an almost certainly.

It's officially time to crack each other's heads open and feast on the good inside.

Could be what we need. Get off the rollercoaster of trying to shortcut our way back to the top. One game a week, time on the training pitch, focus on finishing as high up the league as possible

I’d love if somebody who understands more about football coaching than me, could explain to me how across a decade of several different managers, scores of different players, different coaches, systems, tactics and styles, we are always and without fail the second best side when it comes to both pressing and playing around a press?

Spurs didn’t put a decent footballing move together tonight, but they’re won because they could press and defend half well, and we had absolutely no answer to it.

Allegri the betting favourite. Would be a disaster.

Wonder if they'll go back to Xavi. Was close before.

Life goes on, the Earth still spins and the Sun still shines.

The only positive is that it will accelerate sale of the club, Ineos are clowns too so Glazers will sell to a third party and force Ineos along (which they can do). And for those opposed to state ownership, don’t bother, I think Qatar will be back to buy out .

Now we rebuild properly. Bin off a bunch of these shite players, get a small and concise group as we won't have fixture congestion, rediscover what we are supposed to be as a football Club and go from there.

Oh, and buy a fecking striker who is fit to wear the shirt.

This is the only thing that is giving me any kind of optimism. Cull the fat, try to rebuild and try to cultivate the right attitude with a lighter schedule.

If I'm being positive, klopp lost the Europa league final early in his tenure before turning Liverpool around.

Well we’ve got a a multi billion stadium to look forward to despite an awful product on the park

On the positive side, most of these won't take a pay raise due to not being in CL.

Additionally, it may sound weird but I think we have a good core of young players. But we have some major holes we need to invest and some players in need to be sold (Rashford, Sancho, Mount, Shaw, Onana, Hojlund).

This is the best thing that could happen to United.
Your club need to grind it the hard way. Small steps.
This win would have put some paper over the cracks.
United do not need CL or the money. You guys can't get transfer right anyway and pay overprice for literally everyone. Now you might find hidden gems or get more out of current squad.

Europa League is anyways not a big trophy. It's a nice trophy for teams like Tottenham Arsenal etc. United already has 3 UCL. You guys will be back stronger in 2-3 years.
What is the first step? I kind of missed it...

This.

it wont matter if all they can get in the summer is Cunha + Delap. We need to spend a ton but the club is broke. Sell the team and bring new owners who can bring a new coach if they want and be able to back them. INEOS never gave Amorim a chance. 30 mil in January when the team desperately needed a striker.

We need a complete overhaul. New owners, new director of football, new coach, new players. Sell the team

This is the abyss. A truly horrific collection of spineless men playing for a club with cash strapped owners and a a manager who can't coach the system he knows
You said it the other day that it would be the lowest point of supporting this club, and you were right. This is utterly abysmal.

The club needs to be sold to competent owners who know what they’re doing. Not the amateurs we have

I said it before the game that I thought we'd have a better league season next season if we lost this tbh. But we really just need to but a striker who is actually good enough to wear the #9 shirt. I don't care about any other position, I'd comfortably sacrifice every other signing just to buy a starting striker and nothing else.

As a club we're in freefall now. I have zero faith in anyone at the club knowing how to turn this around.

Relegation is a very real possibility given the state of things. I think fans need to accept the days of being a top team are gone for the foreseeable and need to acknowledge that.

Theres no easy way to fix this mess. Squad is filled to the brink with overpaid, mediocre, injury prone players and the manager seems to have no clue how to fix it.

Now, we get ready to be a mid-table club for a pretty long time.

We will not be back into the top four this decade, mark my words.

Mid table looks very optimistic view right now , what is there to suggest this team can scale the heights of mid table?

The club invests in younger, taller and more athletic players and we build our way back up the league

It's shit that we're not in the Champions League. We don't deserve to be there.

The club has utterly built the squad wrong. It's appalling

Sad that am not even that upset. We’re shit have been for years. Will carry on being so. Let’s revel in it

The midfield is almost as worse as the striker situation. Bruno is not a CM. Casemiro has no legs. And Ugarte is horrible are carrying the ball foward and with his distribution. If they a striker and don't address midfield, it will be same problems

But he showed signs of improvement — I have yet to see more than one decent game so far. No consistency at all.
We've been moments FC since forever. Van Goal couldn't change it, Ole couldn't change it, ragnick couldn't change it, Ten Hag couldn't change it, now Amorim is giving it a go. It seems you either embrace the chaos like Jose and Ole did and ten hag did at times, or we don't win. Amorim is too stubborn to do so, so he either needs to get this puzzle put together sharpish or he's gone.

Bright side, this is a good time to properly reduce the side of this squad?

You said it the other day that it would be the lowest point of supporting this club, and you were right. This is utterly abysmal.

Im not even angry or that disappointed. We didn't deserve CL. I feel the least connected to the club i ever have. And there is pretty much no cause for optimism that isn't just delusion. By far the lowest I've felt in terms of seeing any point to supporting a glazer owned squad of men with no spine or heart
