I thought Daka would be a big success in England but it just hasn't worked out for him.Need Openda on there
Reckon someone random like Daka as 2nd choice for peanuts as well.
I think there's a player there still. I would say we want 3 CFs minimum in the team and I suspect we'll loan/sell Hojlund. Even if we don't I'm not sure Zirkzee really is a 9 anyway.I thought Daka would be a big success in England but it just hasn't worked out for him.
We need a striker either way. We should create more, but Hojlund is a massive problem, and Zirkzee alone is not enough.I would buy none of them. The standards of strikers has dropped substantially and the collection on the list are not good enough. The team needs to focus on creating goals and spreading it across the side.
The biggest problem United have is the central midfield. They can't hold on to the ball and thus cannot create chances under pressure. You can place Vieri up there and you will not improve the output of this side. Buy more quality creative, technical and intelligent players. Begin from the central midfield.
I think if by some chance which I think is a long shot we get Mbeumo then we may not go for a striker at all.I think there's a player there still. I would say we want 3 CFs minimum in the team and I suspect we'll loan/sell Hojlund. Even if we don't I'm not sure Zirkzee really is a 9 anyway.
So we want one big CF signing - a top player, ideally someone who is mid twenties and not a project to develop. So I think of Openda (or someone similar though I think he's quite unique) as 1st choice, think his buyout is about what Cunha's is, then someone really cheap but with electric pace i.e. Daka to add something different to what Zirkzee brings.
I think Hojlund is much better than what we see, and adding attacking quality will help any CF, but I just don't think he works in this system. It seems like the CF basically has to be able to do everything to a high level (which, along with other things, makes me wonder if it's a good system). I'm all for keeping Hojlund but from a player perspective I would not be surprised if he doesn't want out if big Serie A clubs do want him.I think if by some chance which I think is a long shot we get Mbeumo then we may not go for a striker at all.
With bringing in Cunha as well we should be bringing goals into the team and the chances created should increase as well and if we agree that Rasmus is a good finisher but is not getting good service then that could be remedied.
Feel the complete opposite, we've had Hojlund for 3 seasons now and he's gotten glaringly worse over time without showing anything to believe he can turn that around.I wouldn't sell Hojlund, I think he has potential. If only we had proper attacking mids he'd be much better. A EPL loan could do him a world of good. Zirkzee on the other hand has to go. We can almost get most of our money back as he's wanted back in Italy.
Zirkzee was better than Hojlund last season. Hojlund won't perform better in any Premier League team, and any team he moves to would perform worse instead.I wouldn't sell Hojlund, I think he has potential. I didn't know Sorloth scored 23 La Liga goals for Villarreal in the 23/24 season. 20 goals last season, and ended the season in magnificent form.Sørloth looks like the best attainable option by far at this point. Failing that you start looking at punts like Vlahović or one of the lads currently sunbathing in the Saudi league.
His fitness issues are a red flag, same with DCLI'm not making this suggestion for our main striker but how about Callum Wilson as a backup? He's going on a free shortly
Our best option now is to turn to a bridge player like Mateta or Watkins who is probably not even on list because Wilcox probably thought he had Delap in the bagIt’s looking likely it will have to be a bridge player like Mateta, who could potentially get us enough goals to get back into the Europa league, then go for a better striker once we can compete with the bigger teams. Maybe Sesko stays at Leipzig for one more year. I really hate the idea of spending £50 million on a player like Mateta though. I’d much rather have Watkins, who maybe wants a guaranteed first team spot ahead of the World Cup.
And not even a regular starter. His per 90 stats are insane. Atleti looking for €50m as he and Alvarez don’t work in tandem. I wonder if we could work a swap being that they have interest in Antony.I didn't know Sorloth scored 23 La Liga goals for Villarreal in the 23/24 season. 20 goals last season, and ended the season in magnificent form.
This seems right up our alley. Vlahovic has 1 year left though so a loan wouldn’t work
I'm not saying we should go out and sign Vlahovic — just that this is the type of deal we might realistically be looking at now, especially with our top targets either heading elsewhere or becoming unattainable due to the lack of Champions League football.Vlahovic would be a disaster in this league. Genuinely think keeping Hojlund is preferable.
Could raise money if we sold a few attackers, mind you will he even still be on the market by thenSesko is the only one (from the poll) with the potentiale of becoming a world class striker.
We need something that's for certain, why would Kolo-Muani want to leave Juventus anywayI'm not saying we should go out and sign Vlahovic — just that this is the type of deal we might realistically be looking at now, especially with our top targets either heading elsewhere or becoming unattainable due to the lack of Champions League football.
That said, I genuinely think Vlahovic would prove to be a better fit for us than Hojlund. Both Hojlund and the club might benefit from him moving to another league this season, whether that's on loan or permanently.
Of course, Vlahovics salary and current contract situation could make any deal a non-starter. But I imagine a one-year extension with the goal of selling him to the Premier League next summer could be the most sensible outcome for both him and Juventus — assuming he wants to stay in Europe rather than make a move to Saudi.
That being said, I’d still prefer Kolo Muani over Vlahovic.
Yeah no doubt about that. Kolo Muani is only on loan there, set to go back to PSG this summer. We need something that's for certain, why would Kolo-Muani want to leave Juventus anyway
Budget version of Lewandowski. 29 already though and fairly injury proneInteresting stat, how good is the rest of his game though?
Mind you he's more of a wide forwardYeah no doubt about that. Kolo Muani is only on loan there, set to go back to PSG this summer.
So with no Delap, I'd say the order (ignoring money or if they want to come to us) should be:
Desperately need one of them though, would be a disastrous summer if we don't sign any.
- Gyokeres
- Osimhen
- Ekitike
- Mateta
- Sesko
Wasn’t it in a 2 man striker system?Mbeumo scored 4 in 5 playing as a striker for Brentford this season, maybe our interest in him is as a CF?
Juventus people seem to think so, they were the main ones reportedly following him the closest and talking with his reps before before the season ended.People saying David off to Napoli, is that confirmed?
Also didn’t see many people paying the release clause.Sounds like we were able to get Cunha relatively easily because he grew up a United fans, maybe we shoot Osimhen's people an offer and hope it's a similar case where the player gets enamored with the idea of wearing the shirt they grew up idolizing?
Liverpool were the main ones linked to him before we came into the pictureAlso didn’t see many people paying the release clause.
